I have always written stories, but it wasn't until I started the first book in the Solis Invicti series in 2014 that I really became obsessed with writing. I love to read, particularly where the escapism of the story is enhanced with an element of fantasy or science fiction. For me, writing is simply an extension of that journey, but I get to decide what happens next (though it's amazing how often the characters seem to decide for themselves what I'm going to write!).

I love to hear from readers, so please do get in touch through my website or via Twitter.

Bound in Silver is the penultimate book in my paranormal romance quadrilogy. It's set in post-apocalyptic London and follows a young woman trying to navigate her way through a new and dangerous world in which a vampiric race called the Silver have taken charge to protect the remaining humans from a zombie-inducing infection. I won't give away any spoilers, but suffice it to say that there's plenty of action, drama and romance along the way.
The other project is something a bit new for me. It's a little less fast-paced and more contemplative. It's perhaps more akin to a compilation of short stories than it is to a conventional novel, ranging across every genre you can think of, all bundled up in a Sci-Fi wrapper. I'm pretty excited about it, but it's taking a back seat until May, by which point Bound in Silver will be published and off my desk.(less)

Best Books - October 2020

October was jam-packed with books. I took a few weeks off from writing in order to do some research on an upcoming novel, which meant I spent every day reading non-fiction solidly for about twelve hours. I've included some of the more fun non-fiction reads in my wrap-up below, but I've excluded those that I didn't read cover-to-cover.

My favourite books of the month were fiction. I had two five-sta

I enjoyed this book more than the second in the trilogy, but not as much as the first. And BOY was it long. It took 150 pages just to get to where book 2 left off, which really was too much for me. There were an awful lot of words for the story. If y ...more

I was expecting to love this book, but I’m afraid I just didn’t. It felt very much like the classic middle-book-of-a-trilogy where there’s lots of manoeuvring for book three, but not much actually happens. I was bored for the first half, wondering wh ...more
