Sony Mirrorlesses Top 5 Killer Features
My criticisms of Sony Cameras is coming, and Ill update it here shortly, but Ive been asked what are they doing better than other camera companies, so this is my short list.
TL/DW-
1. Sensor Design
2. Full Frame Video Oversampling
3. Eye AF
4. Face Tracking for Video
5. Internal Grading / Log / Gamma Display
Bonus- Camera body design allows for very short time between iterations, but the ergonomics are not that great - so I left it out.

James Patterson's Masterclass

As many of you know I am currently working on my 3rd book, my first fiction book. I just chip away at it every morning for an hour or so. A couple months ago, Master Class had an all you could consume offer of $90/year for the first year and $180 for ever year after.
Id taken the screenwriting course by Aaron Sorkin and enjoyed it, so I thought I would try it out and take a few classes on a few different subjects, including Chess by Gary Kasporov (it was very good and he even responded to me on Twitter), but really wanted to get some good insights for writing.
The Class by James Patterson was just INCREDIBLE. Literally every chapter was just packed with amazing insights. Ill probably watch it a second time.
I am in no way affiliated with Master Class, and am simply saying if you are a writer of fiction, you will enjoy this class very much.

Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom

For as low of exceptions I had for this film, it was actually pretty ok. Obviously, the first one is still the best, but this is probably one of the better sequels to see in theaters. Definitely a lot of the "save the animals" kind of vibes were way over the top, and some of the motives of certain characters where like, eh, but if you can get past those two things, it was pretty decent!

Shooting at Jaws (Peahi) - Maui Big Wave Photography - Case Study #2
Had my first Big Wave Shoot last January when the Jaws swells came in. It was my first time shooting there, and I learned some important things that would be invaluable if it is your first time shooting.
Thank you to BHPhoto.com for supplying the Canon 5D IV I used in this shoot. Many great images, but the most important think I learned was REACH of the lens. You really need 800mm to get into the action, and I had to give up AF to get there with my Canon 2x iii Extender.
Enjoy!

Incredibles 2

Disappointing! I fell right asleep within the first 10 minutes (never a good sign), and for the rest of it (about 2/3's) I was completely bored. This is coming from someone who absolutely loved the first one. Felt very "more of the same", with no real new explored ground. After 14 years, it just didn't have the emotional impact of the first.
Don't get me wrong, this is a clean, family movie, the kids will enjoy it. For the rest of us, its a rental at best.

Nikon D850 DVD Cover Print Error! Yikes!
So after a few weeks of selling our latest Nikon D850 Crash Course Tutorial, I was contacted this morning by one of our vendors who informed us of an error on the cover. We are still trying to figure out what happened, as we triple check everything before it goes to press, I get the final OK and it looked good to me at that time, but it looks like the layered original file we sent in had the Canon 70D in it, however that layer was turned off.
Somewhere along the lines it got turned on before printing. This isnt the first time the printing company has made a cover error of this nature, so I am guessing we will have them pick up the tab on this one.
The DVD and its contents are still correct, so until we can get the re-prints made, we will continue to sell them from our website as well as amazon:

Its embarrassing! But at least the DVDs themselves (and the lessons, 5 hours worth) are still ok. Ill update here again as needed. I would imagine we will be sending our stock back to the disk manufacturers for repackaging.
