Announcing the Summer of Books from Jamie Davis!

I’m fired up about the next few months. Most of you know I have been working hard on a new Urban Fantasy series since last fall (2016).

That new series is about to hit the online bookstores. The Charm Runner the first in the five-book Broken Throne series launches on Amazon on July 11th! (and the second book in the series will be out around August 11th!)

This is the culmination of a long collaborative writing project with author Sean Platt from the story shop at Sterling and Stone and their Legendary imprint. I think you’re really going to like it. Why I love Hearing From Readers

I think some of you don’t reply to my emails because you don’t want to bother me. Trust me, you don’t bother me. I love to hear from you.

The truth is, I get a lot of inspiration to write every time I hear from one of you about something you liked in one of my books. Some of you even share personal stories with me about how my books have lifted your spirits or helped you in some way. That is humbling and I’m honored.

So please keep replying to these emails – I love them and they help me write more and better books. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have a short story, Born of Ashes coming out in June with a collection of Urban Fantasy short stories with six other authors. I’ll make sure you get the link to it as soon as I have it. Back Into Writing Full Time – A Thanks to the Readers!

[image error]Getting back into the regular routine now that I’m into the second week following my surgery. Thanks to all of you for your prayers, thoughts, and emails of support during my recovery. You all are the best readers in the world! For my current projects, here’s what I’ve been up to and planning for the next cycle.

Jumping into the final book in the Broken Throne series, due out this summer. I’m so excited to be working and collaborating alongside Sean Platt on this series. He’s helping behind the scenes and my writing is improving because of his amazing input.

This five book series is going to be released in quick succession once the first book comes out so those of you who read fast shouldn’t have to wait too long once you get a taste.

I’ve also been journaling ideas for the 7th book in the Extreme Medical Services series. It’s always fun revisiting the adventures of Dean Flynn and his friends!

Writing on Pain Meds – Recovering From Surgery

Well, I’m back so that means I survived my gastric bypass surgery last week. Now, almost a week later, I’m only taking over-the-counter pain meds and using a heating pad for pain. I want to give a sincere thank you to all of you who responded to last week’s email with prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery. It worked so far and it meant so much to me.

I tried doing some work when I first got home but the pain meds they had me on at first just snowed me and I kept falling asleep at the keyboard. My wife finally threatened to hide the computer so I settled in to just watching TV and getting rested. Those of you out there who are nurses or know nurses, you know we aren’t the best patients sometimes. I’m being good now, though and it’s paying off. I’m going to start on the short story project for the upcoming anthology tomorrow.

Then I’m back in the saddle to write the final book in the Broken Throne series. Once the fifth book is written, we’ll edit all three and I should have a preorder date for you soon after (around mid-May). I can’t wait to share this new series with you.

I’ve also been journaling ideas for the 7th book in the Extreme Medical Services series. It’s always fun revisiting the adventures of Dean Flynn and his friends!

Upcoming Surgery Means a Time for Change

Hi, everyone. I’m checking in with the weekly update for you and some reading suggestions between my book releases. I finished up the fourth book in my upcoming Broken Throne urban fantasy series, due out this coming June. That gives me a brief break while I have surgery that’s been on the horizon for some time. I had to schedule it between my conference trips so it had to be here at the beginning of April.

I should only be out of commission for three or four days, so I hope to be back writing on a short story project and the final Broken Throne novel by the middle of next week. I’m trying to not overdo things but I don’t do well sitting around and doing nothing. I figure even if I am not fully recovered, I will still want to accomplish something and working on my laptop shouldn’t interfere with things or add to post-surgical pain.

I’ll try and drop another newsletter next week to let you know if I’m still alive or you can follow me on Twitter (@podmedic) to see any updates I might post from the hospital in the haze of pain killers.

Finishing Up One Book and Starting on Another – a Writer’s Life

I’m working hard to finish up Stolen Destiny, book four in my soon to be released Broken Throne series. There will be five books total in this series and it is slated to release beginning this coming June if all goes as planned. I hope to finish this book by next week at this time which is when I’ll start working on the short story I talked about last week.

I Need Your Help – Who to Write About Next?

[image error]I need your help and I hope you’ll reply to this with your thoughts and ideas. I was recently asked to write a short story for an Urban Fantasy anthology. There will be at least eleven stories in the book when it’s released in the beginning of June. The question I have for you is – Who should I write about in that short story? I figured it should answer an unanswered question from the first book in the Extreme Medical Services series.

So, is there something you want to know more about from Book 1? Is there a character you’d like to learn more about? Let me know by leaving a comment below this article and give me your ideas. Maybe I’ll choose yours for the topic of this short story due out in June.

Either way, I’ll make sure it’s a good story and I’m sure the other authors in it are going to write some awesome stories, too. I can’t wait to read it!

Reading Through The Blizzard – Some Free and Discounted Books

I’m working through the blizzard. The thing about working from home is you have no excuses. You can’t blame the weather for not getting the writing done. So I will be continuing on with writing book 4 of the upcoming Broken Throne series. The working title of this one is Stolen Destiny. Stay tuned for more updates on this one. The whole series will start being released in June and the books should come out on a monthly basis after that until all five are released.

Some are novels, some are collections, and some are a quick read, perfect for a snowy afternoon in front of the fireplace. Almost all have a woman on the cover, and you know what that means. Wait.
