Day Seven: Procrastination Station #DoMagick

There are those days you’re revving to go and relishing in the joy of The Work, and other days where you avoid The Work at all costs by focusing on marketing, blogging, volunteer work, etc… This is definitely one of the biggest areas where I need to stick to a strict schedule, pre-plan, and not use other work as an excuse to avoid the creative process. When I focus on the minutia of it, I end up kicking my own ass by creating blocks that then need to be broken. I need to quit wasting as much...

Day Six: Wash it All Away #DoMagick

There’s something cathartic about rediscovering something you’re passionate about. You can get swept away so easily in the court of public opinion that you start to forget why you ended up there to begin with. It’s a pretty simple equation.  An artist/creative person starts out by doing what they love. They are driven by passion and belief in what they’re doing. That thing they create begins to draw a crowd and the crowd starts to praise the things a person is creating. Then the crowd starts...

Day Five: Lost & Profound #DoMagick

Last night I scarcely managed my cleansing meditation and some mantra work with Leviathan to clear some blocks. While I never made it to the editing portion of the evening, Leviathan had some interesting insights that I’m taking to heart. I’ve been feeling a bit lost lately about the direction I need to head in order to realize my full potential. Feeling lost is never fun because it leaves you looking around wondering what you missed along the way. That’s why I stopped and asked for direction...

Day Four: Dude, Where’s My WTF? #DoMagick

I’m thinking I should stop doing my nightly meditation work in the bedroom.  It seems to affect the energy of the room in a way that makes both the exceptional spouse and the furry roommates restless. Which is why I did not sleep well last night. Between cats bolting in and out of the bedroom and spouse shifting and waking up every twenty minutes or so, I was woken up at 1am and didn’t get back to sleep until almost 3am. Good thing I got that 3 hours of sleep after dinner or I’d be dead on my...

Day Three: Manifestation #DoMagick

The cards from yesterday were right. I did not have an opportunity to work on editing (i.e. my happy work that I’m gathering energy for to use to do things I have to do) last night. Family time took precedence. So I did a full cleansing before bed and didn’t do the alchemizing work today.  I knew, almost instinctively that tonight would be the same, so here I am writing this in bed after my meditation and cleansing work. I was so exhausted when I got home from the day job tonight, that I lite...

Day Two: Under the Wire #DoMagick

Yesterday’s results with taking what I love (writing/editing), working on that thing for awhile, then harnessing that “love” energy,  and channeling it into doing what needs to be done (i.e. things like administrative work), worked okay. I did manage to:

Get the last chapter of FFG to the editor for evaluation and line edits. Get royalty statements and payments out. Deal with some advertising. Do some volunteer work. Clean out my inbox. Finish 5 readings. Finish, package, and label two order...

Day One: Alchemizing Blocks & Self Cleansing #DoMagick

Research be damned because I know what I need to do this month to alchemize my blocks and self-cleanse.

Today’s work: Spend an hour working on something I love (to channel all energy toward the block and break it), do something I need to do (once the blocks are broken I can continue using that energy manifested from the joyful work toward the things I don’t want to do), and then self cleansing to remove negative thought patterns about the things I don’t want to do.

Spirits I’m working with: L...

The Raging Sea of the Writing Life

You’ve probably noticed that, for obvious reasons, I blog less when my schedule gets hectic. I suppose this is true for most folks. I thought I would take a moment to share what I’ve been doing and to say hi to everyone who follows the blog. I’m still here, just plugging away.

A few things happened this year that have been keeping me busy. The first is – I decided to finally sit down and draft out a real publishing schedule this year. While I’m still a month behind where I wanted to be, a mon...

All of the Days + Divination #DoMagick

February has been a LONG month of editing and self-work, and was helped along (moderately) by the daily chakra balancing rituals. No, I did not blog as much as I wanted. I also did’t clean house as much as I wanted, or spend as much time walking or resting as I wanted. Aside from spouse time, the rest of my time was spent with magick and work (writing + p/t day job).  The day job office is starting to come together. We’re still waiting on phones, so the other departments haven’t moved in yet....
