30 Poems in 30 Days
A group from the 32 Poems Facebook page will join together to write 30 Poems in 30 Days. Are you in or are you in?
When does it start?
Today
Can I start tomorrow?
Yes
Why isn't there more warning?
I just thought it up yesterday. Sometimes one needs to start on a plan right away.
Do I have to post poems?
You can post them or not. If you post them, you can place them in the comments here, put them on your blog, or write them in the sky. No rules here.
What if I can't write all 30 poems?
Will you...

Inspiration Station: New Smyrna Beach Dunes Park
New Smyrna Beach Dunes Park
During a residency in Florida, I walked the boardwalk in this park many times. Another writer said he'd bought a season pass—only $20—and that seemed like a deal when each visit cost $5. More importantly, I made friends with geckos during my walks. They puffed out their red necks, and I pretended the show was just for me.
After declaring I'd never see any wildlife—all I'd seen was the shiny butt of an armadillo disappearing into the brush at midnight—I was...

What better way to see the world or your country while having time and space (and food) to write? If you are looking for writing residencies, explore the resources below.
Thanks to David Licata, I found this list of deadlines for residencies around the world. What angel put together these residency deadlines for the rest of us?
Here are places to look for residencies and, in some cases, deadlines:

9 Days Until I Leave My Life
One more day slipped beneath me and left through the back door. An article I read claims we have the most willpower in the morning. One way to resurrect that power in the afternoon is…to listen to music? I was surprised by this suggestion, yet it worked. On the way to a meeting, I slid Ozomatli into the CD player of my car and let it boom boom boom. Those red lights did not seem so bad with someone singing a silly dance tune about loving LA in the background.

Leaving My Life in 10 Days
Last night, I looked up from mountains of work (and the BYGGA construction set from IKEA) and realized I'll be heading away from life as I know it in just 10 days.
I expected panic to set in. However, panic did not show up.
Without realizing I was getting ready, I've been getting ready.
In the past few weeks, I coordinated drafts, filled out appropriate paperwork, hauled out the warm weather clothing, assessed the shoe situation, and ordered a printer. Sadly, I do not need new shoes.
Husband...

Online Poetry Workshop
Are you looking for an online poetry workshop?
Take a workshop with 32 Poems editor Deborah Ager. Participate from the comfort of your home — geography, traffic, and blizzards can't stop you — and receive feedback on your work.
The tuition is ridiculously low and will likely increase the next time we offer this. People said I'm nuts to offer it for so little. Well, sometimes I am nuts (in a good way).
DATES: May 24 to June 28, 2010
WHERE: from the comfort of your home
TUITION: $297
Free Poetry Book Winners
During National Poetry Month, I accepted entries to win one of two poetry books.
I'm pleased to announce that Dan Johnson won a copy of my very own Midnight Voices.
Shelly Holder won a copy of Pablo Neruda's Twenty Love Songs and a Poem of Despair.
