For Immediate Release: June 23, 2023 - Following the release of their acclaimed seventh studio album Time’s Arrow in January and their first live shows in four years earlier this spring, revered UK synth group Ladytron have revealed a new remix of their hit song "Destroy Everything You Touch” by DJ/producer Space Motion. The remixes are available exclusively on Beatport, and will release on all streaming platforms on June 23. Ladytron have also announced a set of North American tour dates for Fall 2023. This pulsating rendition preserves the essence of the original while adding a hypnotic twist, merging melodic house and techno with relentless energy. The robust rhythm seamlessly blends with Ladytron's haunting vocals, creating an evocative and electrifying experience.
Space Motion's remix pushes sonic boundaries, showcasing his artistic prowess and visionary talent as a top-selling artist in electronic music. “Destroy Everything You Touch,” originally released on Ladytron’s 2005 LP Witching Hour, has long been one of the band’s most popular songs among fans and fellow musicians alike. The song broke the Top 50 in the UK Singles Chart and was included in Pitchfork’s “Top 500 Tracks of the 2000s." The single was remixed by acclaimed DJ/Producer Sasha which was a standout out on his 2008 Invol2ver LP, and the new remixes by Space Motion have already garnered support from fan-favorite DJs Camelphat, Vintage Culture, Fisher, Gorgon City, Tale of Us and more. The remixes and tour announcement come as Ladytron conclude a run of West Coast U.S. tour dates last month, during which the band performed in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles for the much-acclaimed Just Like Heaven Festival. Due to popular demand, the fall 2023 dates will see Ladytron once again take the stage in LA this time as a headline slot at the Belasco Theatre, plus dates in New York City, Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Diego’s CRSSD Fest to deliver a performance of fan-favorites, classics, and new tracks from Time’s Arrow - the critically acclaimed album that received 4 Stars from Mojo, 8/10 from Uncut, and was called “intoxicating” and “enduring” by Pitchfork.

Club “Time’s Arrow sees a band revitalized, creating music with those rare qualities of nuance and complexity, flowing in a dreamlike state where, just maybe, darkness loses the battle against light.”- The Line of Best Fit, 8/10 "Time’s Arrow, proves just how intoxicating Ladytron’s enduring brand of atmospheric synth pop can be." - Pitchfork "They still sound as if they’ve been delivered from the future, which would explain why they’ve achieved such reverence while attaining a longevity many of their peers could only dream of. They are iconic and influential in equal measures". - Under The Radar "Embodies the band's signature style and makes evident its monolithic influence on bands like Chvrches and Metric." - Bust Magazine “The group seem to be embracing a heady psychedelia that finds them delving deeper into unexplored territory—which by their measure is a domain of dreams." - Treble

Multidisciplinary artist Blake Mills unveils new song + video “There Is No Now”
CHRIS WEISMAN JELLY ROAD DUE JULY 14 ON
NEW DEAL / VERVE

video still
It is the spring of 2022, and Weisman is at the Steinway. He and Blake are composing his overlay voicings together, a layer of icing, for the bridge to “THERE IS NO NOW” that they just wrote from scratch--lyrics, melody, chords, Blake at his Goya, Chris pacing the perimeter of this illustrious room, Studio A of SOUND CITY STUDIOS in Van Nuys, California, veritably vibrating with history you could cut with a knife. Chris plays a big, sweet Ab Major 9 on the downbeat, and the whole room sings. Where an F minor turns Major, Blake suggests the 3rd should resolve an octave lower instead of traveling up a half-step, eschewing the obvious voice leading for an octave displacement. These are the leaps. It is heavenly-voiced down, the A natural seems to glow gently orange. June 23, 2023—Today, Grammy-winning producer, composer, guitarist and songwriter Blake Mills shares, “There Is No Now,” with an accompanying video directed by Justin Daashuur Hopkins —listen/watch here. The track is taken from the artist’s new solo album, co-written and co-produced by Chris Weisman, Jelly Road , set for release July 14 on New Deal / Verve—pre-save/pre-order here . “There Is No Now” follows Mills’ first single, “ Skeleton Is Walking ,” named “graceful and ornate” by Stereogum , while Pitchfork hails that Mills’ voice “offers dreamy musings that float like torn journal scraps…” The Toronto Star praises, “You’ve gotta have real gall — and serious chops — to record a four-minute guitar solo in the year of our lord 2023. But songwriter and guitarist Blake Mills pulls it off with apparent ease on ‘Skeleton Is Walking,’…the fireworks start just after the 2:20 mark, as Mills assumes the role of prog-rock guitar god, laying down a fuzzed-out and highly expressive solo on a fretless sustainer baritone guitar. It’s an exquisite and rare display of musicianship, and proof that the guitar solo is not dead yet.” Furthermore, The FADER asserts that the song “charts an imitable path for itself” growing “from meditation to invocation with an extended, mesmerizing guitar solo.”Mills learned of Weisman through a friend while making the critically acclaimed album Notes With Attachments with bassist Pino Palladino. Mills reached out and the two quickly began collaborating on material via email, starting with songs for Amazon Prime’s lauded limited series Daisy Jones and the Six , for which Mills worked as the Executive Music Producer and chief songwriter, writing and producing all the original songs from the show and its accompanying record Aurora , while working closely with the singer and guitarist Weisman, among others. Together, the pair wrote the entirety of Jelly Road which was recorded and co-mixed by engineer and frequent Mills collaborator Joseph Lorge (Bob Dylan, Phoebe Bridgers, Feist). The duo is coming off a run of sold-out dates around Mills’ performance with Joni Mitchell at Washington’s The Gorge Amphitheater. The Blake Mills Featuring Chris Weisman Tour took them to select cities on the West Coast, where they played music from Jelly Road as well as select songs from throughout their varied careers.Grammy Award winner and two-time Grammy Award Producer of the Year nominee, Blake Mills has released four acclaimed solo albums and produced, played and recorded with artists such as Fiona Apple, Alabama Shakes, Beck, Phoebe Bridgers, Perfume Genius, Moses Sumney, Bob Dylan, Laura Marling, Joni Mitchell, Cass McCombs, Jay-Z, Weyes Blood and Randy Newman, among others. His album Mutable Set, released in in 2020, was praised by Pitchfork as “a hushed collection that floats through the subconscious like a tender dream” and earned their Best New Music title.Chris Weisman (b. 1975) is a songwriter living in Brattleboro, Vermont. His dozens of homespun, self-released solo albums are a kaleidoscope of vaulting melodies, wild poetry, overload harmony, melting bridges and jazz solos. He is the author of Nonmusical Patterns and their Musical Uses (for Guitar in Standard Tuning), the inventor of Inverted Tuning, and an active member of Intangible Shirt Company: an extemporizing crush of New England Transcendentalist hippie types.

LA'S THE SIDE EYES SOPHOMORE ALBUM 'WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?' OUT TODAY ON IN THE RED RECORDS

The Side Eyes are back with the follow up to their 2017 self-titled debut album and are asking the question What’s Your Problem? Anyone suspecting that the Southern California band may have mellowed out in the five years between albums will have those suspicions shattered within the first twenty seconds of the opening track Get Me Out. If anything, the band is now harder, faster and angrier than they were the first time around. Vocalist Astrid McDonald is in fiery fine form calling out everything from phonies to shit talkers to people that simply aren’t nice. Brothers Kevin and Chris Devine on guitar and bass and drummer Sam Mankinen thunder through the twelve tracks here at a breakneck speed that is positively pummeling. While The Side Eyes sound like a throwback to early Southern California hardcore punk rock like Circle Jerks and the Adolescents, the band also cites more recent bands like Ceremony, Glue and Babes In Toyland as influences. Produced by Steve McDonald (Redd Kross/Melvins) and clocking in at under 20 minutes (while spinning at 45 RPM) What’s Your Problem is a modern punk rock gem that blows past the sonic barriers of their past inspirations. This is great stuff! Record Release Shows:July 7 - Los Angeles, CA - Zebulon TicketsJuly 8 - San Clemente, CA - OC Tavern (Tickets at door - all ages)

Filth is Eternal’s Find Out is the triumphant reawakening of one of Seattle’s most vigorous and involved bands. The new testament whips forth with the force of a breakthrough and is a clear undertaking of their own genesis with a deep awareness of themselves, their crowd, and the shared history between them. The band’s ground rules: immediacy must be prioritized. The songs should have the power to whip up a pit in under thirty seconds. They must be vital and exciting – all of which cuts through on their newest single, “Crawl Space.”
Nothing short of a punk anthem, fault lines on “Crawl Space” bubble with hot melodies and fist-clenching riffs. Front person Lis Di Angelo’s vocal delivery is singular and looks at life in the balance, where individual things are in a semblance of order but lacking synergy and permanence. “It's about that small window of time when everything feels like it's working - the band - relationships - work - mental health - the meds - everything - but something still feels off, like it's destined to fall apart no matter what choices you make,” they tell.
“Crawl Space” is the first look at what’s to come from Find Out and is available today via MNRK Heavy. It comes alongside a video directed by Marcy Stone, watch below.

Friction from opposing forces informs the lyrics on Find Out, the title of which could infer emergence from trauma or consequential learning. Regardless of its intended meaning, the title is used as a conduit for the band to push toward positive strides when addressing mental health, addiction, and relationships, with community as a salve– approaching from a nihilistic viewpoint to shine a light, trying to explore a new way. While those themes are visited, details are where the band stops short, ensuring that the listener is guided to these themes but leaving individual song messages for them to ascertain.
Lyrics aside, the true key to the new Filth is Eternal sound is the deep-rooted attention to songwriting. Exploding with fresh ideas, heavy on hooks, and clandestine melody, Find Out is a clear breakout release for FIE, not to mention a future staple for heavy music fans worldwide. Using the talents of producer Paul Fig (Slipknot, AFI, Alice In Chains) while recording at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 and Dave’s Room, Find Out adds just enough spit polish in production to conjure the masses but still retains the dirt and grime necessary to remain congruous to the sound and fury within.
At the core of Filth is Eternal is the instrumental trio of Brian McClelland (guitar), Rahsaan Davis (bass), and Emily Salisbury (drums), who lean into bone-crushing death metal and crust riffage, precision-machined grind, and nitro-fueled punk to create the nihilistic and galloping armored vehicle that is FIE. When hard-pressed about specific bands and styles, the band avoids individual names in favor of movements, yet it’s clear that the darker, more complex side of hardcore is probably the most direct influence. Names ranging from Converge to Cursed may be the most prevalent while others such as Trap Them, Alice in Chains, Stockholm-style death metal, and even The Distillers come to mind for additional inspiration, melody, and tactical songwriting purposes.
Vocalist / lyricist Lis Di Angelo’s approach is rooted in grunge and extreme music; their visceral delivery sits comfortably on the fulcrum between raspy hardcore vocals and cogent melodicism, allowing a range of emotional depth and dynamics. In the worlds the band currently occupies, the dichotomy is refreshing and oddly original, adding a subtle melodic twist to the nihilistic footstomp.
On Find Out, each track is its own pipe bomb ready to ignite on the unsuspecting public, creating a sense of urgency and relating the band’s explosive message to an unabating soundtrack of punk-inflected ferocity. Embrace the oncoming tidal wave, changing of the guard, and new revolution from Filth is Eternal. Sound the reveille because one way or another, you’ll Find Out.
Find Out sees its release on September 29 and is their label debut since the announcement of their signing with MNRK Music Group. The album will be available across all digital retailers and released on vinyl and CD formats.

It also represents Damon Albarn’s connection to Malian music.” London Ko, a neologism coined by Diawara, represents an imagined continent bringing Europe and Africa together. While holding on to traditions, Diawara’s music gives a prophetic vision of what Africa can do. She invents an alternative space and time where it is possible to become master of your own destiny. Positioning herself as an actor in a future world, this album raises Diawara into the ranks of the great voices of Afrofuturism.Diawara is on tour throughout the summer, with stops featuring a number of major European festivals including the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Istanbul Jazz Festival, Berlin’s Sommer Open-Air-Musikfestival and more. A celebrated child actor, Diawara starred in Dani Kouyaté’s critically acclaimed 2001 film Sia, The Dream of the Python. At age 19 she left home against the wishes of her family and joined the French street theater company Royale de Luxe, with whom she toured the world and began singing in the clubs and cafes of Paris. Diawara eventually found herself singing backing vocals for Dee Dee Bridgewater and Malian superstar Oumou Sangaré before signing with influential label World Circuit Records for her debut album.
