"Our America is a national anthem for a country in peril. It’s easy to find ourselves in a cycle of existential dread amidst near-constant news of gun violence, attacks on queer rights, police brutality, and climate crises fueled by corporate greed. Our America is a call to the listener to stand together against the hatred and fear that our nation is built upon. It’s a plea to maintain hope in community and each other, to remember that we keep each other safe. Most of all, Our America imagines our ability to build a nation that truly uplifts and protects all of its inhabitants.

We are releasing the track on the last day of Pride month, in time to give folks a message of togetherness and hope on July 4."

Members of Camp Bedford and their musical contributions are Roxanne Quilty (they/she) (vox, guitar) Mariela Flor Olivo (she/her) (vox, lead rhythmic guitar) and Tallen Gabriel (they/them) (cello).

Produced and engineered by Julian Giaimo, mastered by Daniel Cardinal.

Introducing Jean Ryden, unveils debut single "Chlorine" today

INTRODUCING JEAN RYDEN THE NEWCOMER UNVEILS DEBUT SINGLE “CHLORINE,”
NEW MUSIC COMING SOONPhoto credit:  Angela Ricciardi & Silken WeinbergJune 30, 2023—Rising artist, songwriter and producer Jean Ryden unveils her cinematic debut single, “Chlorine,” today. The track, self-written and co-produced, uses imagistic lyrics and a string-laden arrangement to examine grief and Ryden’s longing for alternate timelines to take hold. Listen  here  and watch an accompanying visualizer  here .Of the song, Ryden shares:“During the process of writing this project I spent a lot of time in solitude, playing my piano in my apartment, going on a lot of walks in my neighborhood. On these walks I would hear dinner parties—the clanking of dishes and silverware—or kids playing, thrashing around in a pool I couldn’t see covered by hedges. I would get whiffs of smells that transported me back to my childhood: fresh cut grass, the blooming of flowers, and the smell of chlorine. I would go home and make dinner for myself, and the feelings of isolation and loss were ever apparent. Specifically, the smell of chlorine has always evoked a range of emotions. On one hand I have pleasant memories of swimming, coming out of the pool, my lips purple from the cold, my mom making tea from the herbs in the garden. And on the other, it reminds me of losing her. The morning of my mom’s death I stayed home from school, and we went on a walk. I was supposed to join her for a swim, but I needed to change into a swimsuit. My mom went to go swim and I went to meet her a few minutes later. It’s hard for me not to reflect on that day and wonder what would have happened had I made her wait for me to change, if we had just walked a little longer. This song is a tribute to her. She shared with me the gift of music and enough love to last me a lifetime.”  The visual for “Chlorine” was conceptualized and co-directed by Ryden. The video uses footage recently shot at her late mother’s childhood home, intercutting bits of home movies with images of a young Ryden surveying a place crucial to her past. “‘Chlorine’ for me conjures up a lot of different feelings,” Ryden says. “I associate it with fond memories of childhood, playing in the pool, but also with one of the worst days of my life.” This introduces the overarching visual narrative that will accompany Ryden’s forthcoming music, which she has built alongside close creative collaborators Angela Ricciardi and Silken Weinberg (Ethel Cain, Albert Hammond Jr). The Los Angeles-based artist began studying music at age three, when she started cello lessons as a child on Long Island. Music had long been in her family. Her maternal grandparents were founding members of the Long Island Philharmonic; her grandfather on her mother’s side was a session violinist who had played with Stevie Nicks and Chet Baker and her grandmother, Jean Ryden Eley, is the inspiration for her artist persona. Ryden’s Julliard-trained mother passed on the family’s passion for music to Ryden, instilling a two-hours-a-day practice habit in her daughter. Ryden’s early training, combined with her study of producers like Rostam, James Blake, and Sufjan Stevens, and lyrical influences Elliott Smith and Regina Spektor and Mitski, inform her classic pop songwriting and meticulous production. More from Ryden is imminent.

KLARA LEWIS & NIK COLK VOID - Their debut album, Full-On, out today on Alter - Watch the video for 'I'll Always' here

KLARA LEWIS & NIK COLK VOIDDEBUT ALBUM FULL-ON - OUT TODAY VIA ALTER
WATCH THE VIDEO FOR ‘ I’LL ALWAYS
“Full-On is like an extreme tasting menu, recommended if you like your experimental electronics crunchy and burnt.” – The Wire
“… these short, spiralling sounds are particularly pleasing, engrossing, oddly rewarding, and thoroughly brilliant” – The Quietus Album of the Week

KLARA LEWIS & NIK COLK VOID’s debut album together,  Full-On , is out now on vinyl and digitally via Alter: https://alterstock.org/product/full-on/
Following their first single, ‘Work It Out’, and a run of festival dates that included Sonar and Donau, today the artists share the video for final track from the album, ‘I’ll Always’, where a wordless voice conjures raw emotion. Listen to the track, described by the pair as “a manifest of strength through vulnerability” here: https://youtu.be/WSnYP07gjVs
The collaboration between Lewis and Void seems somehow inevitable: both artists have released solo work via Editions Mego, and both have individually carved out idiosyncratic voices in the worlds of extreme, abstract electronic music. Lewis explains, “We kept bumping into each other at shows, then Nik invited me to support Factory Floor and after the show we were hanging out, and said we should collaborate”. A series of improvised live shows followed, with performances commissioned by Café OTO, BBC Radio 3 Late Junction and the Liverpool Philharmonic, before the pair created Full-On.
With Full-On, Klara Lewis and Nik Colk Void explore and assimilate the very edge of their individual practice where a unique collaborative interface allows two voices to combine and morph into a third, emerging as Lewis and Void play ping pong with the conversation of sounds, generating ideas and bouncing them off each other, simultaneously encouraging the other to go further with their ideas opening up an opportunity to engage with previously unexplored terrain. Guitars, synths, modular systems, voice, sampling and outboard processing are folded in a playful unification with a propensity to tease, explore and extract new ideas and shapes, sometimes brutal, sometimes playful. Trust was also a compositional tool allowing instinct to freely move on any aspect of the sound and space. This sound / feeling / instinct / association let this wild and wonderful material grow organically into something new.
The result of this exploratory interplay are 17 intense miniatures revelling in the process of unadulterated experimentation, not just between the humans, but the machines themselves. United in an endless series of sonic U-turns, they intertwine pop and noise whilst also bringing together visions of tender techno and ambient.
Void goes on to explain that the effect is akin to “being sat next to someone on a train browsing Instagram with the sound up… mixing genres, as though the algorithm has made a mistake…”. Lewis expands on the process, “Exchanging ideas in the way we did gave a new perspective, discussion and form - we would pick up what aspect one liked from the other and elaborate the idea by treating, shaping, letting it grow using processes we would use on our own sounds. Like remixing, reworking each other's ideas one at a time - passing over and trusting the other to develop further.”
The various zones manifesting from all this reveal vocals shifting in mysterious ways, dust drenched beats and devilish string loops navigating a disorientating domain. The experience of listening to Full-On is to be confronted with a range of ideas, a platter of emotions. A place where beauty and the beast collide with the impulsive and outright weird. What a wonderful world.

Loma Prieta Release New LP ‘Last,’ Share “One-Off (Part 2)"

Loma Prieta Release New LP Last, Share “One-Off (Part 2)"

Last is out today on Deathwish Inc. // See Loma Prieta on tour now.

"masters of moody, serrated, expressive post-hardcore" - Stereogum

For nearly two decades, San Francisco's Loma Prieta have evolved in front of our eyes. With each release, they have elevated the post-punk subgenre to high art without abandoning the heart at its core; all serving as an artistic reflection for their personal growth amid the complex world that surrounds us all.

Their latest— Last— arrives today from Deathwish Inc.  A long eight years since their most recent LP, and three years since their excellent Continuum b/w Fate 7inch, Last is comprised of eleven new songs that took shape amid the turbulence the world has collectively faced since. The emotional tension within each song on Last is palpable; at times unfurling contemplatively with delicate melody while at others, exploding with sonic violence. The songs all give voice to the manic nature of the modern human experience.

Loma Prieta share another new track today, "One-Off (Part 2)."  Vocalist/guitar Sean Leary says the song "...talks about the loss of objective truth as an anchor in our conversations and debates, and attempts to understand an increasingly complex world. A close friend of the band got lost in the spiral of this 'news cycle' and took their own life as a result. The lyrics quote some of their sentiments, and some of my own, in the last few conversations the two of us had."

Listen / share "One-Off (Part 2)" on YouTube.

Recorded at Atomic Garden Studios with Jack Shirley, Last expands upon Loma Prieta’s kaleidoscopic discography — 2020’s “Continuum b/w Fate,” heralded LP's Self Portrait (2015), 2012’s I.V. and 2010’s Life/Less to name just a few.  Revisit previous singles "Sunlight," "Glare" and "Circular Saw" below, and see Loma Prieta on tour now.

3TEETH Announces New Album “EndEx” Out September 22 Via Century Media, First Album in 4 Years from Modern Industrial Metal Outfit; Band Also Shares New Track + Video for “Scorpion”

3TEETH Announces New Album EndEx Out September 22 Via Century Media Records First Album In 4 YearsFeatures Several Tracks Produced ByDOOM Composer Mick Gordon Band Shares New Track + Video For “Scorpion”See It  HERE    Four years after the release of their last full-length album and with several teases of new music unleashed the past few months, 3TEETH is now sharing all the details behind their much-anticipated LP  EndEx  coming this fall.  EndEx  will be released by Century Media Records on September 22, showcasing the modern industrial act at their most raucous yet, unveiling bold revelations of humanity’s technosocial disintegration behind a brutal soundtrack that sounds all the alarms. After giving the first glimpse at the new material with the early release of “Paralyze” (featuring Ho99o9)3TEETH re-emerged in May with more previews, including their gripping sonic salvo, “Merchant of the Void” that touches on the bleak landscape of modern society amid A.I. takeovers and economic collapse. It was hailed as a one of the “best new songs” by  Metal Hammer  and  Revolver . While Metal Hammer says the song “traces lineage in both Al Jourgensen and Trent Reznor,” Revolver hails the song as “utterly gigantic and over-the-top in the best way possible” and applauds the return of 3TEETH in 2023 at a time “when we needed their apocalyptic, incendiary industrial-metal most.” Next came “Slum Planet” taking aim at the ills of a sick planet obsessed with over-consumption at all costs. With today’s album announcement, 3TEETH shares the newest single for the moody missive “Scorpion,” a track in which the band’s instrumental arsenal is tempered by alluring female vocal chants that provide an ambient feel. It’s featured alongside a combustible video, with the band excavating deep desert secrets. It was helmed by director Vicente Cordero & 3TEETH frontman and creative lead Alexis Mincolla. Says Mincolla, "The scorpion symbolizes the challenge to confront and integrate those parts of ourselves that we repress, ignore, or fear. It invites a descent into the depths of the personal and collective unconscious. Its venom is the entropic catalyst for the dissolution of old, rigid structures of the psyche, making room for rebirth. To acknowledge and embrace the scorpion is to accept the necessity of change." See the video for Scorpion” here: https://youtu.be/P5LlUe-lKRQ  Ahead of the release of EndEx in late September, 3TEETH will continue to release a new single every month. Other highlights on the album include a cover of Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” continuing 3TEETH’s penchant for aggressive reworks of pop songs, previously seen on Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks,” Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz” and Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record).” To lay the foundation for the new material, 3TEETH migrated to the deserted quiet of Joshua Tree, escaping from the palpable anxiety of their hometown of Los Angeles for fresh new perspective. The material is currently being wrapped up with a solid extended team including the accomplished sound designer Mick Gordon (best known for his work on the gaming phenomenon DOOM) who produced several of the tracks along with producer Nick Rowe and mixer Sean Beavan (NIN), bringing in another dimension to the band’s unmistakable sound. Says Gordon, “3TEETH are one of my favorite acts. They proudly fly their own unique flag. The new album charts course through the next stage of our vanity-led evolution as a species, and by that I mean the album is a world unto itself. I’m just stoked that these guys have allowed me along for the ride.”  EndEx  will be available in CD, Gatefold LP, and digital album formats. Special formats include: Red LP (available at all EU outlets)Red Smoke LP (available at all US outlets)Utra-Clear / Red Splatter LP (available from 3TEETH)Utra-Clear / Red Splatter LP (available from Revolver)Pre-order EndEx here: https://3teeth.lnk.to/EndEx  EndEx  Tracklist:1. Alliances with the likes of TOOL and Rammstein resulted in the collective’s first live performances and a rise to further notoriety with the release of 2017’s album shutdown.exe. which took 3TEETH to global stages. Working alongside producer and mixer Sean Beavan (NIN) at new label home, Century Media, 3TEETH upped their own sonic arms race with Metawar (2019) and entered a new echelon of cultural consciousness with a collection of tracks including the biting “President X” and their haunting take on Foster the People’s “Pumped Up Kicks.”  "The modern carriers of the industrial rock torch" —  Revolver   "State-of-the-art sensory overload with take-no-prisoners level of aggression" — Rolling Stone   “3TEETH bring the aggression with aplomb” — Loudwire   3TEETH is:Alexis Mincolla – vocalsChase Brawner – guitarsXavier Swafford – keyboards and synthesizerAndrew Means – bassNick Rossi – drums Find 3TEETH OnlineWebsite: https://3teeth.org/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/3TeethTwitter: https://twitter.com/threeteethInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/3teeth/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdUZ81wDL5GF_v0XUOyJRSg

Body Of Light’s ‘Bitter Reflection’ Out Today on Dais Records

Body Of Light’s Bitter Reflection Out Today on Dais Records

Stream the luminous new album now, and see Body Of Light on tour in select west coast markets this summer.

Photo by: Andrew Jarson and Peter Shikany.

"a poignant work of art" - Post-Punk

Bitter Reflection, the fourth album by Arizona desert brotherhood Alex and Andrew Jarson aka Body Of Light, further hones their smoldering strain of tempestuous synth-pop into a transformative suite of anthems, reveries, and reckonings.

Written in the wake of 2019’s neo-EBM classic Time To Kill, they sifted inspiration from hidden moments within their own arcana– childhood tapes, home movies, abandoned demos– asking themselves the question: “How can we make this grow?” Sampled snippets of voice, noise, synth, and field recordings flicker in the periphery of Bitter Reflection's 11 tracks, murmuring like nostalgias half-forgotten, or displaced memories. This is music pulled between twin flames of truth and desire, romanticization and reality, catharsis and control, born of a bond sealed by years, dreams, and blood.

Bitter Reflection spins through a gallery of Body Of Light’s ongoing fascinations: Depeche-esque declarations of dread and excess, brooding dance floor epiphanies, lovesick looking glass ballads laced with Art Of Noise orchestral stabs, and smooth, Thomas Dolby city skyline melancholias.

Listen / share / playlist Bitter Reflection on DSP's here.

Revisit Body Of Light's "Bitter Reflection" video (ft. James Duvall).

Working with Telefon Tel Aviv co-founder Josh Eustis in Los Angeles, Body Of Light incorporated an expanded array of live instrumentation – piano, bass, saxophone, acoustic guitar – in addition to vintage Akai samplers, Moogs, and archaic hardware to Bitter Reflection, giving the albm an eclectic, unpredictable palette.

A new age demands new waves, and Body Of Light belongs at the forefront of a resurgent generation fusing modern methods with the sounds of futures past. Singer Alex Jarson sees their muse clearly, at the axis of anguished transition, temporal collapse, and, just possibly, the brink of hope: “Time is dysphoric. The dream breaks down. Everyone’s beginning to panic, but in the end something will come from it.”

Bitter Reflection is out today via Dais Records, and Body Of Light will be playing select shows this summer in support of the album.
