Greer Returns From Hiatus With New Single "Had Enough"
GREER RETURNS FROM HIATUS
WITH NEW SINGLE “HAD ENOUGH”

Following three years of introspection since the release of their last EP, West Coast indie rock four-piece Greer returns with their anthemic new single “Had Enough,” out today via Epitaph. Simmering between resignation and resilience, “Had Enough” is an audible release of the band’s refreshed energy and creative clarity with a decisive sense of forward momentum. Listen below.
“‘Had Enough,’ formerly known as ‘Charburger,’ is the second single released following ‘audio_77.’ Originally inspired by The Eagles ‘Chug All Night,’ ‘Had Enough’ serves as a fun pop song about the different struggles pets go through when first meeting their owners,” the band shares of the new track produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Kurt Vile, Beck). They reflect fondly upon the moment it came together – “Fun fact about this song – after figuring out the bridge, we all simultaneously exclaimed, ‘PIZZA TIME!’ Although this coincidence is not yet explained to us, it’s something we oftentimes remember, forever symbolized as a signifying moment representing our newfound unity as a band.”
Greer hinted at new material to come last month with the cryptic YouTube release of “audio_77.” In the clip, dim lights and a lonely bedroom greet lead singer Josiah as he settles into an intimate tune, his melancholy vocals floating over acoustic guitar. Check it out below.

Having signed to Epitaph in 2020, the band – Josiah (vocals), Corbin (guitar), Seth (bass) and Lucas (drums) – has previously released a handful of singles and two EPs, Lullaby For You and Happy People, produced by Rob Schnapf and John Congleton (Wallows, St. Vincent, Angel Olsen) respectively. Defined by unguarded sincerity in their songwriting, tight alt-rock instrumentation and a charismatic exuberance, Greer is eager for fans old and new to experience their new material born of the time taken to internally develop the project’s identity and the sophistication that has accompanied it.
“We’re nervous for old fans to hear how our sound has changed sonically,” the four admit, “But that nervousness quickly overlaps with the excitement we feel when listening to the songs. Despite the amount of time that has transpired since our last release, we as a band feel solid as a rock. We were kids since our last release. As SpongeBob would say, ‘Now that we’re men,’ we feel much more prepared to take on the beast hidden within us.”

Australian indie rock band Spacey Jane to release new album If That Makes Sense on May 9 + New single "All The Noise" premieres with video

January 16, 2025 (Los Angeles, CA) - Today, Australian indie-rock quartet Spacey Jane have announced the release of their highly anticipated third studio album, If That Makes Sense, which is set for release on May 9. In conjunction, the Perth natives are ushering in the new era with their first single “All the Noise,” an upbeat track fueled by dynamic guitar riffs and dreamy melodies, which premiered on Triple J’s Breakfast.
WATCH/LISTEN TO “ALL THE NOISE” HERE
If That Makes Sense is Spacey Jane’s most ambitious record to date, seeing the band explore new facets of their sound and dive deeper into themes of falling in and out of love, overcoming trauma and learning to pick up the pieces. Produced by Mike Crossey (The 1975, Arctic Monkeys, Wolf Alice), the band also collaborated with songwriters Jackson “Day Wave” Phillips and Sarah Aarons (Childish Gambino, Miley Cyrus, Lykke Li) to bring this project to life.
On creating the album, the band shares, “This album isn’t trying to be anything in particular. Sometimes it is sure of itself and other times it whispers uncertainty. It feels like a contradiction of forgiveness and anger, love and breakdown and that's what I was trying to reconcile in the title. It's hard to give it a theme other than an overwhelming sense of confusion and a less than successful attempt to tie up emotional loose ends. We went to the U.S., we put our faith in new collaborators and finished making a self funded record without a label home for it. We stepped off the cliff everyday and loved it and we have never been happier with our work than we are now.”
“All the Noise” invites listeners into the heart of If That Makes Sense as frontman Caleb Harper tells the complicated story of his parents’ union and collapse as he fears that he will follow in their footsteps. Expressed through Ashton Hardman-Le Cornu’s anthemic guitar riffs, Peppa Lane’s energetic bassline and a steady drum from Kieran Lama, the band perfectly captures the complexities and anxieties of the song.
“‘All the Noise’ was mostly written in a hotel room in Sydney having landed in Australia for the first time in 6 months,” recalls Harper. “I suppose there was something about being down under again that made my version of the story of the beginning of my life feel so vivid. It's angry, but not at someone, and it's sad because I can't quite get to the bottom of what or who made me. It might be my favourite riff of Ashton's and the tightest Peppa and Kieran have ever locked. It's gonna be so fun live and we're beyond excited to be sharing our first new music in over a year.”
The new album follows 2022’s Here Comes Everybody and 2020’s Sunlight. The band became a hometown sensation after the release of Sunlight, topping Triple J’s annual album poll with breakout single “Booster Seat” and earning the ARIA for Song of the Year. Inspired by the success of their debut album, Spacey Jane got to work on their sophomore album, which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Charts and earned them the title of Triple J’s most played artist in 2022. With two critically acclaimed albums under their belt and chemistry that’s stronger than ever, Spacey Jane are swinging for the fences on their forthcoming record.
Spacey Jane are celebrating the album announcement with three intimate concerts across Australia. They kicked off the run of shows in their hometown at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel last night, and have just announced shows at The Lansdowne in Sydney tonight and Howler in Melbourne tomorrow. These shows see the band return to venues similar in size to the ones they started out in as a way to thank fans who have stuck with them. They’ll be playing a mix of fan-favorite tracks and never-before-heard songs off the forthcoming album.
Formed in Perth, Western Australia in 2016, Spacey Jane have expanded their reach far beyond their hometown. With more than half a billion streams to date and countless sold-out tours, the band has built a loyal following through their dreamy, vulnerable sound and unforgettable live performances. 2025 is shaping up to be the band’s biggest year to date - stay tuned for more.

Fucked Up to Release Limited Edition 7” Single “Disabuse” b/w “Self Driving Man” March 14th Worldwide on Sub Pop
Sub Pop has teamed up with long-running Canadian punk icons Fucked Up for a 7” single featuring two brand new, exclusive songs. “Disabuse” and “Self Driving Man” are light-speed cuts of pure hardcore from Fucked Up. These tracks leap out of the speakers, bearing the indelible stamps of Pacific Northwest punk legends Poison Idea’s 1990 anti-oppression anthem “Discontent” and Japanese punk masters Paintbox’s “The Door.” Sitting at the chaotic crossroads of punk, hardcore, and grunge, the two songs are perfectly suited for a Sub Pop single, and there’s even a limited-edition alternate sleeve based on Poison Idea’s classic 1990 Sub Pop Singles Club 7”.
“Disabuse,” out now on all DSPs, is a song, Damian, the band’s singer, wrote for his daughter, who experienced bullying and intimidation. The B-side, “Self Driving Man,” wrestles the out-of-control automation of our world onto the pavement and into the abyss of faceless progress.
This 7” is now available for pre-order at megamart.subpop.com, Bandcamp, and all music retailers. The 7” is on emerald vinyl and includes a lyric sheet. Fans ordering directly from Sub Pop and the band can choose between the standard jacket or the limited alternate sleeve. Or they can - and should - order both!

Boston via Rahway, NJ rock outfit Cut The Kids In Half are excited to announce their debut album, What We Became, arriving later this month on January 31. Heralding the announcement is the album’s emotional first single “Song of Two Humans,” which tackles a tumultuous relationship with brightly toned guitars and wandering lyricism. Named after Radiohead’s “Morning Bell,” brothers Charlie and Jack Silver (ages 18 and 19 respectively) have established themselves as a compelling young band, cutting their teeth the old-fashioned way: playing gig after gig on their local scene. As they prepare to share their first full-length record, “Song of Two Humans” showcases the group’s artistic ambition, as vulnerability collides with catchy riffs. The track arrives alongside an official music video streaming now on YouTube. Shot in their current home base of Boston, MA, Charlie and Jack Silver star in the video, alongside longtime drummer Luke Tan.
“I wrote the first lines after a strained conversation with an old friend, and somewhere along the way it became about a relationship,” says vocalist and lyricist Jack Silver. “It’s about what it’s like when you discover everything about someone, and one day you realize you don’t like what you’ve found. One day you’re together, the next you’re in each other’s way.”

Last year, the band shared their second-ever single, a storied track called “A Good Man Died.” The release marked the beginning of a raw yet focused era, one that mixes grit with anguished, honest songwriting. As they continue to preview their debut LP with today’s release, listeners can expect a record filled with collaboration and masterful storytelling. The brothers’ teenage perspective adds sensitivity to their alt-rock sound, edgy but not jaded — their lyrics read like despair, but their songs sound like hope.

Out of admiration for great songwriters like Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed and Thom Yorke, brothers Charlie and Jack Silver began writing together when they were 14 and 15 respectively. Pulling from a deep well of inspiration, from their childhood to fictional characters and everything in between, songs beyond their years took shape. With a voice reminiscent of the likes of Mark Lanegan and Julian Casablancas, Jack’s lyricism shines beyond their soundscapes, delivering lines like, “Every word you’ve said to me is printed somewhere in my mind / Like obituaries placed between the comics and the crime.” Soon, they began playing shows around the area with drummer Luke Tan, building Cut The Kids in Half's reputation as an alt-rock group that harnesses a standout live presence.
After spending a summer in a Los Angeles studio and recording songs in New Jersey, their debut album What We Became began to come to life. Vignettes of struggle, loss and life came to the forefront, soundtracked by soaring guitars and sticky melodies. Most of the record was produced by Lee DeWyze in LA with Ray Ketchem (Guided By Voices, Alex Chilton) recording in New Jersey. Heading to college in Boston, the brothers soon added guitarist Kevin Mortenson and bassist, keyboardist and trumpeter Joey Sorkin to their live trio. A group of native New Jerseyans, Cut the Kids in Half follows in the state’s storied musical tradition of raw but fine-tuned lyricism paired with gritty guitars.

(January 16th, 2025) - Michi’s debut album Dirty Talk is out February 28th on Stones Throw. Dirty Talk, produced by Blake Rhein (of Durand Jones & the Indications) and Paul Cherry, packs a lifetime of experience into ten songs.
On Dirty Talk, Michi looks to musical history for inspiration – soul, ‘80s and ‘90s R&B and Motown – pairing a retro-inspired sound with reflections on the modern forces interfering with us truly giving and receiving love. The album came together when Michi moved from LA to a small seaside town following a harrowing breakup. There, she decided to move with her “natural emotional circadian rhythm.”
“Snoobie” was written at a particularly raw time. Michi explains: “‘Snoobie’ was my moment after being dumped of being like, I'm pissed! I was also witnessing other special women in my life go through so much struggle caused by men. It's so crazy how men can have a hold over me sometimes. I used to say I hated them, but in fact I think I love them too much sometimes.” The accompanying video shines a spotlight on the pitfalls of performing masculinity.
“Snoobie” was released in a slightly different form in 2024. When Michi’s Stones Throw labelmate Knxwledge remixed the track along with two of Michi’s previous singles: “There’s No Heaven,” a house banger that Michi describes as a burst of aqua blue, a sweaty dancefloor, ice dripping down your skin, tears…”, and “If You Want Me,” which calls out a partner for treating her like a toy to be put down and picked up on a whim.
The flip side to Dirty Talk’s excavation of failed relationships is its celebration of love and sexual confidence. Michi says, “I fluctuate between sensitivity and sadness, and feeling myself unstoppable.” She adds, “I kind of talk my shit on this record. But Dirty Talk isn't just about dishing out, it's about revealing the dirt on my hands of misunderstanding life's gifts – the opportunity to transform, grow and release. I want this album to accompany whoever hears it in liberation of the self, in healing.”
Listen to “Snoobie” above and stay tuned for more from Michi coming soon.

Lauded as an experimental and alternative band and one that’s never been married to a particular genre, Phantogram have continued to change the zeitgeist for almost a decade by consistently challenging it with their signature blend of hard-hitting beats, guitar driven dark psychedelia and electronic pop. The new songs – recorded with producer John Hill, alongside special collaborators like Mikky Ekko and Dan Wilson – weave together the band’s signature mix of hazy synths, hypnotic guitars, beat-crushing drum machines and mesmerizing vocals. For the band, writing the new music was their most exciting experience creating together since their early days as a band – a rebirth for the lifelong friends, creating music freely during the recording process.
Memory Of A Day marks the latest album in Phantogram’s illustrious body of work that includes Eyelid Movies (2010), Voices (2014), Three (2016) and Ceremony (2020). The duo have collaborated with legends such as Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Billy Corgan, The Flaming Lips and Miley Cyrus, partnered with Big Boi of Outkast to form supergroup Big Grams, headlined sold out shows worldwide, became a festival staple and toured with artists including The xx, Muse, M83, alt-J, Arcade Fire, Queens of the Stone Age and more. Since the arrival of Eyelid Movies, the duo has amassed over a billion streams, achieved a platinum-certified single, two gold-certified singles, and more

CocoRosie: (L) Sierra Casady (R) Bianca Casady - photo credit - Ginger Dunnill
Today CocoRosie, the sister duo of Bianca and Sierra Casady announce the release of their eighth studio album Little Death Wishes, out March 28th on Joyful Noise. Along with the album and the upcoming European tour announcements, they share the album’s second single and music video, “Cut Stitch Scar.”
When a chapter of life ends and another fumbles to begin, one enters their dark night of the soul. This is exactly where we find the Casady sisters on their most existentialist and meaning-seeking song yet. Written while Bianca was gripped in heartbreak, “Cut Stitch Scar” mirrors the false starts of grief as the song barrels between sparsity and density. “Take a leap of faith,' Bianca sings with her trademark quaver “there may not be a plan for you.” About the single the Casadys tell us: “Cut Stitch Scar” touches the very core of our universal waywardness and the precarious and precious nature of being human.”
Late last year, CocoRosie started the next chapter with the single and video “Least I Have You,” an ecstatic ode to sisterhood and the purest distillation of CocoRosie’s 20-year-long career to date, alongside the announcement that they would be joining Joyful Noise Recordings (Deerhoof, ONEIDA, Kishi Bashi, WHY?, etc).
About Little Death Wishes:
For just over twenty years, Bianca and Sierra Casady have transmuted the love, hardship, and ecstasy of sisterhood into some of the most daring, dangerous, and wildly original music our increasingly sanitized culture has known. CocoRosie has been a project consistently at the musical vanguard, influencing countless musicians while inspiring and creating refuge for the “criminal queers” of the world. Above all, CocoRosie has been a conduit for irrepressible artistic self-realization.
Little Death Wishes is as open and tenderhearted as anything they’ve ever created. The songs tell a kaleidoscopic story of the generational hardship of women and the shattered realities of their lives, the precarious and precious nature of being human, of being done wrong by love, and a final wish to be unbroken. It boils everything CocoRosie down to its most brutal essence: turning pain into knowledge, sisterhood into polemic, trash into treasure, and recalcifying kitsch and cliché into fresh truths.
The duo’s 8th long player exists in its own musical lexicon. It is both primordial and tawdry, a rich bricolage of dusted-over pop culture signifiers that the sisters contort into their own sense of temporality. Contributing to the avant garde, yet unbeholden to contemporary trends, CocoRosie collects musical detritus from other times, which they fashion into their own baroque, theatricalized creations. With the sisters’ hands deep in every layer of their music, each song on Little Death Wishes feels transportative and transformative.
“CocoRosie has been the center of our lives for such a long time now,” says Bianca. In those years, the sisters have been infantilized and revered, fetishized and mirrored, misogynized and adored; at times willfully misunderstood by the press—which has failed to reduce the group into mere perverse whimsy. Despite it all, CocoRosie has continuously pursued the bravest and boldest routes, uplifting the rawest, unveiled, and most tender strands of humanity and nudging us toward the light.
CocoRosie has released seven studio albums to date: Put The Shine On (2020), Heartache City (2015), Tales of a Grasswidow (2013), Grey Oceans (2010), The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn (2007), Noah’s Ark (2005), and La maison de mon rêve (2004). In addition to CocoRosie tours and festival performances worldwide, CocoRosie has composed original scores for four full-length theatrical works by acclaimed director Robert Wilson; Peter Pan, Pushkin's Fairy Tales, Edda, and Jungle Book - with another project underway. They have also worked with the Kronos Quartet at their Jazz Festival in San Francisco for two seasons, creating a new collection of songs that will become a collaborative album with Kronos.
As a visual artist, Bianca Casady has mounted solo art exhibitions internationally, including at Deitch Projects (2007) and Cheim & Read Gallery (2012). As an experimental theater director, Bianca has created several plays, including NightShift (2012) at Kampnagel in Hamburg, Germany, Mother Hunting (2015) at the National Theater in Oslo, Norway, and The Angel Show (2017) at the National Theater Academy in Norway. Bianca hosts an ongoing experimental poetry course titled Remembering The Miracle and in 2023, the artist published her first poetry book, Au bord du ciel: Heaven bound. Sierra Casady has arranged and performed music globally, including with the Symphony Orchestra of Amsterdam, The ICA in London and The Sydney Opera House and created “Soul Life,” an Opera staged at the Donau Festival in Krems.

(January 15, 2025) - Yukimi, the celebrated vocalist and co-founder of Grammy-nominated outfit Little Dragon, announces the release of her debut album For You, which is set for release on March 28th via Ninja Tune. Alongside the album announcement, Yukimi shares two new singles, “Sad Makeup” and “Winter Is Not Dead,” both reflecting Yukimi’s free-spirited attitude and vulnerable lyrical focus.
Speaking on “Sad Makeup,” Yukimi comments: “I wrote a song called 'Sad Makeup' about those days when you try to push down and control a sad feeling. The more I try to control it, the more it’s felt by others around me, growing bigger as an energy.”
On the inspiration behind “Winter Is Not Dead,” she shares: “Living in Scandinavia, we must face our long, dark winters. The lack of light brings many of us down. At the same time, underground, life thrives. Microbes stay busy breaking down organic matter, recycling nutrients and improving the soil, quietly preparing for spring. I also grow during my personal winter seasons, even though things might feel dead on the surface. Wheels turn as I transform and move through it getting ready for spring and summer.”
Her debut solo album sees her step away from a band formation to create some of her most beautiful and intimate work to date: both intensely personal and brilliantly relatable. On For You, Yukimi elegantly entwines musical styles from jazz, soul and electronic pop to hip hop, roots and psychedelia, but the themes of her solo songs dig deeper than ever, across love, loss, feminine energy and innate resilience.
Speaking about For You, Yukimi shares: “I want this music to really be a force to connect people to each other, and step away from the madness of everything on the planet right now. And I’m excited about embarking on that journey on my own – the expression really feels pure.”
Last year, Yukimi released her debut single “Break Me Down,” showing an incredible display of growth and vulnerability. Co-written with Erik Bodin and Lianne La Havas, the collaboration was Yukimi’s first time writing and creating music with another woman, allowing her to fully express her feminine energy in an unguarded and personal manner. “Break Me Down” is produced by Erik Bodin, who played drums, bass and keys, with support from Lianne La Havas on guitar.
The single was accompanied by a music video, directed by Fredrik Egerstrand, which was shot at Hovs Hallar and the same beach where Ingmar Bergman shot scenes for his film ‘The Seventh Seal.’ In the video, Yukimi reenacts the iconic scene with Death and the Knight at the exact position and framing as a tribute to the classic film. Yukimi also made her solo debut performance for the first time with live sold-out shows in New York, Santa Ana, Oakland and Los Angeles.
Yukimi's distinct and graceful voice has drawn fans to her since co-founding Little Dragon. The success of the band found her performing on some of the world's biggest (and smallest) stages -- from the likes of Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival to NPR's Tiny Desk -- and collaborating with artists such as Mac Miller, Kali Uchis, Gorillaz, Tinashe, Big Boi, JID, KAYTRANADA, Flume, De La Soul, BADBADNOTGOOD, DJ Shadow, ODESZA, Faith Evans and Dave Sitek, among others. Despite her commitment to the band, her singular voice has made waves outside of the group, too, perhaps best evidenced by her show-stopping feature on SBTRKT's breakout single "Wildfire."

NEVERLAND RANCH DAVIDIANS PLAY A RECORD RELEASE CONCERT AT THE REDWOOD IN LOS ANGELES ON MARCH 7
“Fronted by Tex Mosley, this defiant two-guitar power trio boasts a sound that’s as unlikely a hybrid as their once heard, never forgotten name” — CLASSIC ROCK MAGAZINE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | January 15, 2025 — Neverland Ranch Davidians today release "Shout It on the Mountain," the second digital single from the album of the same name. The album will be released on LP, CD and download via Heavy Medication Records on February 7. To coincide, the band will play an album release concert at The Redwood in Los Angeles on March 7.
Pre-order Shout It on the Mountain at Bandcamp.
The Davidians’ lineup features vocalist/guitarist Tex Mosley (vocals, guitar), Will Bentley (guitar, backing vocals), and Max Hagen (drums, backing vocals). While the band does not feature bass guitar in its live shows, Greg “Smog” Boaz (Mavis Staples, Dave Alvin and the Guilty Men, Tex & the Horseheads) plays bass on the new album.
A native of Philadelphia, Tex Mosley relocated to Los Angeles in the early 1980s and has played in a succession of punk-leaning bands: Bad Actor, featuring Michael “Spider” Sanders of Afro-punk legends Pure Hell; Whores of Babylon with Circle Jerks singer Keith Morris; The Slaves with Richard Elerick (AKA punk vocalist “Rik L Rik”); The Hangmen, a group which recorded an unreleased album for Geffen with Mosley; The Duane Peters Gunfight, a Tex-Mex infused punk group featuring skateboarding legend Duane Peters; and the power pop-leaning Neighborhood Bullys. It was with the latter band that Mosley backed up Detroit legend Suzi Quatro for her 2011 album, In the Spotlight.
Neverland Ranch Davidians formed in Hollywood in 2019. Mosley, Bentley and Hagen honed their sound performing at a string of southern California live shows before recording their self-titled debut album in 2022. Released in January 2023, Ian Fortnam at Classic Rock Magazine hailed Neverland Ranch Davidians as a “Future Classic” and awarded the album “9 out of 10.” Iggy Pop added a pair of the album’s tracks to the playlist of his BBC Radio 6 show.

For Shout It on the Mountain, the band has added a more pronounced rhythm & blues vibe to its sonic stew. “For me, R&B and punk rock are just two colors on the rock ‘n’ roll palette,” said Mosley. “They’re what I’ve listened to all my life. Little Richard was the punk rocker of his day. The New York Dolls were labeled as glam, but if you listen closely, they were trying to be a more rock ‘n’ roll version of the Shangri-La’s. The Davidians are all the things I love thrown into one pot, from Stax soul to cowpunk to NYC Lower East Side trash.”
Shout it on the Mountain was recorded earlier this year in Los Angeles except for “Happy,” which dates to the sessions for the first album. The new album features three cover songs: Eddie Floyd’s ‘Big Bird” (originally issued on Stax Records in 1968 and written by Floyd and Booker T. Jones), Half Pint & the Fifths’ “Orphan Boy” (an obscure Chicago garage rocker issued in 1966 which later appeared in the popular Back from the Grave series), and Skip James’ “Hard Time Killin’ Floor Blues” (originally issued on Paramount Records in 1931). The latter track carries the subtitle “Dirty” for this new release and features additional lyrics by the band. All the original songs are band compositions with most of the lyrics written by Mosley, with additional help from Bentley.
The album was produced by Will Bentley and Bjorn Winberg. Shout It on the Mountain will be released by Heavy Medication Records, a label run by native Chicagoan Derrick Ogrodny from his longtime homebase in Warsaw, Poland.
