PLEASE COME TO ME OUT FEBRUARY 21ST VIA

VALLEY OF SEARCH

NEW YORK RELEASE SHOW AT PUBLIC RECORDS

ON FEBRUARY 20TH

Masma Dream World by Cian O’Day

"music rooted in drones and ritual rhythms..like a visitor probing a dark cavern, occasionally knocking something loose that clatters noisily into the void" - New York Times

"a strange, discomfiting document of the singer-composer’s energy..tangles together traditional African sounds and rhythms with Western electronic styles ranging from ambient to harsh noise" - The FADER

"a divine, spectral source of unease..“mother” is the only lyric in the song, but it hits you like a paragraph, rummaging through your skin until it crawls" - Paste Magazine

"The astonishing new record from Masma Dream World obliterates all genres to arrive at something haunting, potent, and powerful." - Bandcamp Daily

“A startlingly engaging collection.. informed by place but remains enchantingly placeless.. Mambouka has created something astonishing” - The Wire on debut album Play at Night

Today, Masma Dream World has shared the third preview of her new album, PLEASE COME TO ME, due out February 21st via Valley of Search. Opening with a field recording of church bells in Pordenone, Italy, today's “Pordeno Me” builds tension with strangled vocals and dense atmospherics.

"In the darkest corners of isolation, pain, and despair, my cries for my mother echoed into the abyss. Instead of succumbing to the void, a force unknown to me at the time, saved me from my final attempt to escape this mortal coil," shares Devi Mambouka on the new single.

The experimental project led by Mambouka, Masma Dream World turned heads with her 2020 debut Play at Night, a record that established the multi-instrumentalist as a singular voice, combining field recordings, throttling bass, skittering electronics and traditional Gabonese rhythms for an awe inspiring, transportative sound. Previous single “PLEASE COME TO ME” is an aural ritual, an invocation to the mother of the universe and a communion with the unseen world. The track was highlighted at The FADER, Paste Magazine, Bandcamp Daily, and The New York Times.

With roots in Gabon and Singapore, Mambouka is a child of the world. She recalls rainforest rituals and the presence of ghosts and spirits throughout her childhood in Gabon before immigrating to The Bronx. Here, instead of forests, she lost herself in record stores and began a spiritual, educational journey, DJing and immersing herself in NYC’s nightlife. A former Catholic school student, she studied religions of all kinds but found her guides in magic, maternal Hindu ancestors, the Black Madonna and Kali, the Hindu goddess of creation and destruction, and the mother of the forgotten ones.

PLEASE COME TO ME was culled from sessions over the course of two weekends with no specific concept in mind, but the result was years in the making, time focused on deepening her spirituality through meditation, Hindu mysticism, and Advaita Vedantic texts. At the same time, she was learning the craft, training in sound therapy, audio engineering, and sound design. The technical developing alongside the spiritual, the electronic with the natural. Her father was from the indigenous Bahoumbou tribe of Gabon, while her mother is Bengali and Cantonese from Singapore. Her influences are global in scope. The mystical experiences of her travels are incorporated into the music, like the church bells on today’s single, or spontaneous singing inspired by a visit to La Vierge Noire (the Black Madonna) in Rocamadour, France. While walking through a cave, the spirits led her to record her voice, so she pulled out her phone. That recording appears on “The Island Where the Goddess Lives” and the sound is echoey and distant, reversed language going back through time. There are field recordings from her visits with her family in Singapore and the temples and rice paddy fields of Bali.

In the isolation of a bitter Wisconsin winter surrounded by the Northwoods, her connections to the spiritual unseen world deepened. When she returned to her mother’s apartment in New York City, she stumbled upon old, damaged tapes of spiritual lectures from her late aunt’s collection and saw it as a sign to begin work on the album.

This past October, Devi shared her first Masma Dream World single since her 2020 debut, the thunderous and ceremonial “Ancient DNA,” and her first for the venerable Valley of Search, the experimental label run by Nabil Ayers and home to Alan Braufman, Patricia Brennan, and Tomas Nordmark.

To celebrate the release of PLEASE COME TO ME, Masma Dream World will perform at New York’s Public Records on February 20th. She’ll be joined by the Zola Jesus Noise Project NIKA for a night celebrating Parashakti, an invocation of the "Ultimate Divine Feminine Power." Tickets HERE.

are fleshed out by a stellar cast of collaborators.”

– UNCUT (9/10)

Drive-By Truckers co-founder Patterson Hood has shared the second song, “The Pool House,” from his landmark new solo album, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams, arriving via ATO Records on Friday, February 21, 2025. Pre-orders are available now.

“The Pool House” was originally inspired by a night I spent at a creepy rental,” says Hood. “A literal pool house for an apartment complex that I rented cheap for the night during a solo tour. It was off-season and the pool was dark green and filled with algae. The whole thing was creepy and as I’d had a couple of drinks, my mind was definitely wandering, conjuring up some macabre shit.

“I wrote most of it during lockdown and demoed it then on my home rig.

“I later recorded it with Nate Query (The Decemberists) playing upright bass and Dan Hunt (Neko Case) on drums. I played piano, guitar, vocals, and a trashcan as percussion on the bridge. Then I had Kyleen King do her magic adding viola and layers of strings (from her own arrangement) to it and the great Steve Berlin (Los Lobos) played flute, which he knocked out of the park. He had come by the studio to put some sax parts on some songs and I mentioned wanting a flute for this song. He asked me what kind of flute part I was thinking of and I said, “something like what Christ Wood would play in Traffic.” He just smiled and said he’d see what he could do.

“It’s one of the weirdest and most twisted tracks I have ever recorded and I’m really thrilled with how it all turned out.

“Frances Thrasher (Heaven4TheYoung), who painted the album cover, also does incredible and creepy stop-motion animation and has made me a super cool video for the release using a vintage dollhouse and her own amazing skills and talents.”

Produced by Chris Funk (The Decemberists, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks) at various studios in Hood’s current hometown of Portland, OR, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams marks the singer-songwriter-guitarist’s most expansive and ambitious extracurricular effort to date, supported by a stellar cast of friends and fellow musicians including Waxahatchee, Brad and Phil Cook (Megafaun), Kevin Morby, Wednesday, Brad Morgan and Jay Gonzalez (Drive-By Truckers), Steve Berlin (Los Lobos, The Blasters), David Barbe (Sugar, Mercyland), Nate Query (The Decemberists), Steve Drizos (Jerry Joseph and The Jackmormons), Daniel Hunt (Neko Case, M Ward), and Stuart Bogie (The Hold Steady, Goose).

The 10-track was heralded late in 2024 with the first single, “A Werewolf and a Girl,” featuring additional vocals from Lydia Loveless. A lyric video directed by Jason Shevchuk is streaming now on YouTube.

Hood’s fourth solo album and first in over 12 years, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams sees the veteran singer, guitarist, and songwriter exploring his youth and young manhood in a collection unlike anything in his ever-evolving catalogue. It is inspired in part by his own short story, “The Exploding Trees,” in which Hood tells the tale of a natural disaster that occurred in his North Alabama hometown just as he turned 30 and relocated to Athens, GA where Drive-By Truckers were co-founded in 1996.

The album gathers songs that have amassed over the remarkably prolific songwriter’s career, many of which provided him with distraction and creative sustenance during lockdown, others which have resided among his notebooks for years, including the string-driven “Airplane Screams,” written over four decades ago but never successfully recorded until now.

The album was further driven by his friendship with producer/musician Funk, a “profound chemistry” forged upon Hood’s 2013 move to Portland, OR. Having long discussed a collaboration, in 2023 the stars finally aligned, and they set to work on recording this new album which Hood intended to be “a bigger departure” from Drive-By Truckers and his previous solo efforts than ever before.

Working together at a number of Portland studios, Hood accomplished his goal, in part by writing much of the album on piano in a vigorous attempt to expand his parameters in new, heretofore uncharted, directions. While he planned to bring in a professional pianist for the recording sessions, Funk, eager to push his friend from his comfort zone, encouraged Hood to play the parts himself. Hood further took the opportunity to explore sounds outside the boundaries and obligations of his day job, deviating from his traditionally guitar-driven palette to create richly textured arrangements marked by the inclusion of strings, woodwinds, and vintage analog synthesizers.

The result is an ingeniously baroque Americana song cycle, fueled by Hood’s finely drawn character studies and gift for clear-eyed self-examination. Songs like “Pinocchio” and “Miss Coldiron’s Oldsmobile” are nakedly autobiographical and remarkably unflinching, steeped in the past but very much informed by who Hood is in the here and now. With its powerful textural clarity and Hood’s literary strengths at the fore, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams coalesces as a staggering investigation into how time can shed light on the recesses of memory, revealing an exceptionally gifted songwriter’s resolute inclination to look back through the golden haze in order to grapple with the darkness and secret truths that perhaps weren’t understood or reckoned with at the time.

“You remember it one way, but when you really dip into it, when you really look back, the world was a different place,” Patterson Hood says. “Things were accepted that wouldn’t be accepted now and things you didn’t understand then make sense now.

“This record has all these kind of unintended themes. I don’t know if that was anything I set out to do as much as it just kind of worked out that way. You know, there are a lot a lot of happy accidents in this record.”

The cover art for Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams is by Frances Thrasher, an artist from Athens, GA. “She recently put up a show called Heaven4TheYoung that really blew me away,” says Hood. “I was especially moved by one painting in the series, and she was kind enough to let me use it for the cover. I honestly didn’t have a second choice.”

Currently continuing to travel the US with Drive-By Truckers on their hugely successful Southern Rock Opera Revisited 2024 Tour, Hood will celebrate the arrival of Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams with a run of US headline dates. The Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams 2025 Tour – which will feature backing from his band, The Sensurrounders, with support from special guest Lydia Loveless – gets underway March 19 at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Made, with stops in DC, Atlanta and Nashville, while finishing up at The Whirling Tiger on April 5. Tickets are on sale now. Additional dates will be announced soon. Click HERE for complete details.

“I’m putting together a kind of stripped-down band so we can go do this record right,” Hood says. “Now the challenge to see if I can pull off a few of the songs on piano live. There’s nothing but good to come from it. I think good has come from each of my solo records, they each made me better at what I do in various different ways.”

Turnover by Vitor Jabour Cosse

TICKETS

(January 14th, 2025) - Following the feverish reaction to the initial anniversary shows announced last month, Turnover announces its full 2025 North American tour celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the band's classic sophomore album Peripheral Vision. Beyond the six anniversary shows the band announced in December, which all sold out in a matter of days, Turnover is expanding the run across North America. The 38-date run produced by Live Nation, including the six dates that sold out after being initially announced in December, which will take place across April, May, and June, with a show in London to follow in September, will see the band play the album in-full for the first time in some of the biggest shows of their career: Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, The Dome in Virginia Beach, Brooklyn Paramount in Brooklyn, New York and Roundhouse in London. Across select dates of this run, the band will be supported by Citizen, Balance & Composure, Tigers Jaw, Horse Jumper of Love and KEEP.

TICKETS: Tickets will be available starting with presales beginning today at 11am ET. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, January 17 at 10am local time at turnovermusic.net.

As part of the tour’s VIP offering, a band variant of a forthcoming 10 Year Anniversary Edition LP will be available while supplies last. Additional vinyl variants and formats, including a deluxe 3xLP Anniversary Edition Box Set, will be made widely available for pre-order in the near future.

Released on May 4th, 2015 via Run For Cover Records, Turnover's second album Peripheral Vision is widely regarded as an essential body of the work in the band's discography, maturing its sound into a shoegaze-inflected post-punk direction following the band's 2013 debut record Magnolia. Described as "a tour de force" by Kerrang!, the album set the stage for an extensive and prolific touring history over the past decade and three subsequent albums, including their most recent LP, 2022's Myself in the Way.

See the full run of Turnover’s 2025 Peripheral Vision anniversary tour below and stay tuned for more details on Turnover’s additional vinyl variants and formats of Peripheral Vision coming soon.

Staticlone (feat. mem. Blacklisted) Announce Debut Album, ‘Better Living Through Static Vision’

Staticlone announce debut album
Better Living Through Static Vision

Out March 7th on Relapse. // Stream first single “Honeycomb

Philadelphia's hardcore punks Staticlone sign to Relapse Records and make their debut with the crushing new album, Better Living Through Static Vision (pre-order), out March 7, 2025.

Hardcore and punk aren't genres that necessarily celebrate change. It’s not like the music is stagnant; it’s more that the tried and true is rewarded while anything new, anything different, is greeted with a quizzical eyebrow and the spoken or unspoken question of: “Is this good? Can you mosh to it?"

If there was anyone in Philadelphia who could answer those queries with expert authority, it’s George Hirsch and Dave Walling. Though really, you don’t even need to ask them. Put on the debut album by Staticlone, the band they started at the tail end of their previous outfit Blacklisted, and you’ll find all the answers you need.

On Better Living Through Static Vision you can hear Hirsch, bassist Walling, and drummer Jeff Ziga channel everything from crust to metal, and the hardcore punk they’ve all been steeped in for decades. In the sum of those parts Staticlone follows the path of Disfear, Wolfbrigade, Inepsy, and other groups that combine d-beat ferocity with rock n’ roll riffs.

Today, Staticlone share the album's first single, "Honeycomb."  Hirsch comments, "When I was a kid I could hear the El train from my house, a weird calling, similar to the first time I heard Agnostic Front or Trouble. Growing up in Philadelphia I would ride that same El and Subway for hours, just staring out the window and listening to headphones. I’d ditch school (later on work) to do it, disappearing in the city disguised as a commuter. This same train took me to gigs where I eventually met Dave and Jeff. When I moved to Chicago, I did the same. The common bond being this weird 'static vision' that you see while looking out of a moving train window. When I moved back to Philadelphia the first thing I did was get on the train. I wrote a lot of the LP on these trains, combing through this life, which ironically is only a one way ticket."

He continues, "Staticlone is a band that makes music: Hardcore punk for hardcore punks, it’s that simple."

Listen / share first single "Honeycomb" on YouTube

The lyrics on Better Living Through Static Vision, all written by Hirsch, focus on themes of alienation and loss. That poetry is paired beautifully with some of the most unrelenting, snarly, and heavy hardcore and punk from the East Coast. Which brings us back to those two very important questions: Is it good? Unquestionably. Can you mosh to it? Just try and stand still.

Look for more news from Staticlone soon.

“…the distorted vocals were put through T C Helicon C-1 hard pitch pedal, and the disorienting results are surreal, but also intensely emotive. You’re left with the sense of someone grappling with absence, the space in his life leaving a colossal void; somehow, amidst all this, Alan Sparhawk is still moving forwards, and the will to continue make ‘Get Still’ a gripping experience.” - CLASH

“Like almost everything Sparhawk creates, it is beautiful, but also very heavy, as you might expect, with grief at its core.” - Brooklyn Vegan

“White Roses, My God is a glance at Sparhawk’s musical sketchbook that’s somehow both unrehearsed and constructed with care, enjoyable and unknowable, as transient as it is profound. It may be somewhat unexpected in form, but its compelling content should come as no surprise” - Under the Radar

INTERSCOPE VINYL COLLECTIVE RELEASES EXCLUSIVE COLLECTOR’S EDITION OF DR. OCTAGONECOLOGYST, DR. OCTAGON’S UNDERGROUND HIP-HOP CULT CLASSIC

INTERSCOPE VINYL COLLECTIVE RELEASES EXCLUSIVE COLLECTOR’S EDITION OF

DR. OCTAGONECOLOGYST, DR. OCTAGON’S UNDERGROUND HIP-HOP CULT CLASSIC

Limited To 3,000 Individually Numbered Copies, 2-LP Set With Splatter Vinyl Features Four Bonus Tracks + FREE Bonus Dr. Octagon Turntable Slipmat

“Dr Octagon for me was a chance to take all the rules, limitations and regulations in hip hop and throw them out the window.” – Dan The Automator (Producer)

An exclusive collector’s edition of Dr. Octagonecologyst – the 1996 underground concept album from Dr. Octagon, an alter ego of hip-hop legend Kool Keith (Ultramagnetic MCs, Dr. Dooom, Black Elvis, Dr. Ultra) – is now available HERE via Interscope Vinyl Collective (IVC), a continuing subscription series of monthly limited-edition LPs. This one-time, individually numbered pressing is limited to 3,000 copies and will ship to customers beginning January 28. The 23-track, remastered album includes four bonus tracks – “Bear Witness (Automator's 2 Turntables And A Razor Blade Re-Edit) [6:46],” “Blue Flowers (Automator Remix) [5:22],” “3000 (Automator 1,2 Remix) [3:24]” and “Blue Flowers (Prince Paul’s ‘So Beautiful’ Mix) [4:04].”  See below for full track listing.

In conjunction with the launch of the IVC edition of the album, the music video for “Blue Flowers” was given its first official release. View HERE.

Widely regarded as one of the best and most collectable underground hip-hop albums of the ‘90s, Dr. Octagonecologyst is a concept album that introduces the character of Dr. Octagon, a homicidal, extraterrestrial, time-traveling gynecologist and surgeon. Kool Keith’s abstract lyricism explores themes of medicine, space travel, and more, setting it apart from mainstream hip-hop while redefining underground hip-hop. The outrageously offbeat humor and psychedelic storytelling gives the album a cinematic quality, which is perfectly complimented by complex and moody trip-hop inspired beats produced by Dan the Automator (Handsome Boy Modeling School, Gorillaz, Deltron 3030). The Boom Bap beats are further enhanced by the legendary DJ Q-Bert, whose remarkable scratching gives the album its turntablism edge.

The New York Times praised Dr. Octagonecologyst as “one of the most progressive rap projects” of 1996. The New Rolling Stone Album Guide hailed the album as “a slab of mondo bizzaro brilliance…totally unlike anything else and totally right.” Pitchfork declared, “Dr. Octagonecologyst's afterlife is nearly as weird as its conception and its essence. Seemingly destined for cult status, it instead spread like wildfire, becoming an indie-rap essential…”

The exclusive collector’s edition marks the first time the 2-LP set has been presented with gatefold jacket. The matte finish jacket features an embossed Dr. Octagon image and red foil logo print. Disc 1 is pressed on bone base with red splatter, and Disc 2 is on bone base with black splatter. As an added FREE bonus, a limited edition turntable slipmat featuring the cover art illustration by Pushead is also included in the package.

Vinyl collectors can sign up HERE for the IVC email list.

Jan 10, 2025—Today, Liberia-bornTennessee-based Afro-Appalachian Folk artist Mon Rovîa unveils the culmination of his four-part EP series with Act 4: Atonement, which explores themes of redemption, transformation, guilt, cognitive dissonance, and the healing power of love.

Act 4: Atonement serves as the powerful conclusion to a narrative that began with Act 1: The Wandering (July 2023), and continued with Act 2: Trials (October 2023) and Act 3: The Dying of Self (April 2024). Each chapter of this saga has taken listeners through Mon Rovîa’s personal struggles, victories, and moments of reflection, creating a powerful and relatable journey of growth and self-discovery.

Atonement features standout tracks such as the poignant "crooked the road.," the philanthropic "Winter Wash 24,” and his latest romantic ballad, "Rust."

“The final chapter of the Mon Rovîa Folk Saga, ‘Act 4: Atonement,’ brings the hero’s transformative journey to a powerful conclusion. Tempered by trials and revelations, the hero returns to his people seeking reconciliation, healing the wounds of the past, and mending the fractures within himself,” says Mon Rovîa.

He continues, “This chapter embodies themes of Guilt, forgiveness, accountability, and the courage to confront one’s missteps. It is a symphony of amends—a testament to the hero’s growth and a reflection on the strength found in vulnerability and connection. ‘Act 4: Atonement’ reminds us that true heroism lies in restoration and the power of collective healing.”

ABOUT GOOSE:

Goose is an American rock band known for its genre-blending sound, improvisational live performances, and dedicated fan base. The band is Rick Mitarotonda (vocals, guitar), Peter Anspach (vocals, keys, guitar), Trevor Weekz (bass), Jeff Arevalo (vocals, percussion, drums), and the newest addition, Cotter Ellis (vocals, drums). Their music — a deft union of indie-rock hooks, sprawling improvisation, and driving rhythm — has propelled them from performing in Connecticut basements to headlining some of the most revered stages in the country. Known for their strong DIY ethos, Goose has grown organically through relentless touring and utilizing platforms like YouTube, Bandcamp, and nugs.net to share live performances and connect with fans.

Since their earliest days recording 2016’s Moon Cabin in a barn in northern New Hampshire, Goose has been developing their unique approach to writing and improvising, achieving a rare balance between thoughtfully crafted songs, tight musicianship, and emotional honesty. 2022 saw the release of their critically acclaimed third LP, Dripfield. That album earned them #2 on Billboard’s “Top New Artist Albums” chart as well as praise from Rolling Stone, who called it “both sweet headphone ear candy and the foundation for a perfect live peak.” The accolades were yet another feather in the band’s cap, having sold out venues like Radio City Music Hall, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Forest Hills Stadium, performed on the likes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CBS Saturday Morning, and played their share of iconic music fests, including Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, ACL and many more. Through their commitment to forward momentum, Goose continues to remind us that music isn’t simply played—it’s felt, lived, and shared.

Kedr Livanskiy announces new album 'Myrtus Myth' on 2MR - Debuts "Anna" single

Kedr Livanskiy Announces New Studio Album Myrtus Myth
Coming March 7 via 2MR

Shares “Anna” Single - Listen / Share

The alchemy by which history becomes myth is mysterious. Much is lost to time and reinterpretation, but the result is something more universal, a symbol. All artistic practice, in this sense, is a practice of myth-making, an experience rendered universal through abstraction. Musician / producer, Kedr Livanskiy (Yana Kedrina), is intimately familiar with this process, having crafted ethereal, far-flung dance tracks for the better part of a decade. On her fourth studio album Myrtus Myth, she draws on mythologies both public and personal to craft an expansive experimental pop album and Dante-esque journey through the self.

The album’s lead single “Anna”, available today, is the emotional core of Myrtus Myth, a stunning and deeply personal ode to a lost friend. Rooted in the mythology and expansive storytelling that defines Kedr’s forthcoming album, the track stands out – pairing lush ‘70s-inspired melodies with live drums and strings to craft a pop song that feels both timeless and otherworldly.

Drawing from the album's broader themes of grief, transformation, and myth-making, “Anna” is shrouded in a hazy echo, with Kedr’s soaring vocals channeling both vulnerability and strength. The influence of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumours’ is unmistakable, but as always, Kedr’s experimental touch—shaped by her collaboration with producer Flaty—elevates the track into something uniquely her own.

Amid Myrtus Myth’s hero’s journey narrative, “Anna” offers a poignant moment of reflection, seamlessly blending the personal with the universal. It’s a haunting yet hopeful reminder of the connections we carry, even in the face of loss.

Listen / Share / Playlist “Anna” Here

There’s always been an element of esotericism to Kedr’s music, from the slow-burning choral synths that anchored her debut EP January Sun to the delicate strings and churchlike harmonies of 2021’s Liminal Soul. Even her clubbier releases, 2019’s Your Need and 2023’s K-Notes, depict mysterious forests, enveloping clouds, and foreboding winters. Of all her discography, though, Myrtus Myth seems to gesture most directly towards Ariadna, her far-reaching but understated first album, wherein she fused William Blake poetry with skittering lo-fi techno and minimalist ambient soundscapes. The same reverberating synths, echoing vocals and innovative song structure that punctuated Ariadna fuel Myrtus Myth, but this time the scope has broadened. This is due in part to the work of producer and visual artist Flaty, known for his experimental, futuristic releases. Though he and Kedr have worked together frequently (both as co-producers on Your Need and in their band, Kosaya Gora), Myrtus Myth represents a deeper collaboration, with Flaty producing and writing the entire record for the first time. Together, the two artists transcend dance structure completely, incorporating live instruments and new vocal techniques to bridge influences from vaporwave to Kate Bush to Phil Collins.

Though stylistically diverse, Myrtus Myth comes together through the narrative structure of Livanskiy’s storytelling. Written in her native Russian, her lyricism is at its most immersive on this album, a hero’s journey recounted over 11 tracks. It can be hard to orient oneself within Myrtus Myth, where sounds flicker from distant rooms and history seems to collapse into itself. But it’s precisely this feeling of disorientation that allows Livanskiy to realize her project.

“The last couple of years have been incredibly difficult for many people on earth,” Kedr explains. “This album is a reflection on painful topics through the prism of the mythical, dreamlike and otherworldly.”

Despite its narrative conclusion, it would be a mistake to read Myrtus Myth as a tragedy. It’s an album that gestures outward: by weaving together far-reaching and fantastical elements, Kedr seeks to tell a story that’s familiar for its stark humanity. The imagined hero’s city has been lost, but it’s just a myth after all. It’s us who are real, and we have time.

Myrtus Myth sees its release March 7 via 2MRPre-save / pre-order it here.
