Friday, March 14 – Bryan Ferry and performance artist, writer and painter Amelia Barratt release ‘Loose Talk,’ the latest work and title track from their upcoming collaborative album Loose Talk, due for release on March 28 [Pre-order HERE]. The accompanying video was shot by Bryan Ferry. Listen to ‘Loose Talk’ HERE and watch the video HERE .
The title track ‘Loose Talk’ boasts a near-motorik drive and features the presence of Roxy Music’s Paul Thompson on drums, and follows the richly detailed and transportive ‘Orchestra’, and ‘Florist’ that invited listeners deeper into the cinematic world of Loose Talk.
Loose Talk signals the beginning of a new creative chapter for Bryan Ferry, blurring the lines between music, poetry and art. Fifty-three years since Roxy Music’s iconic debut album arrived like a bolt-from-the-blue, his latest project is just as startlingly unexpected. The sounds and shapes, and the spoken words they are set to, are unlike any previous Bryan Ferry album. At the same time, the mood that Loose Talk captures is rooted in Ferry’s past half-century of work.
Loose Talk marks the first time Ferry has created new music for another writer’s words. The album consists of eleven texts, composed by Amelia Barratt, creating fascinating micro-fictions, simultaneously fragmentary and self-contained.
The album balances refined minimalism and abstraction with an experimental and youthful energy. Ferry’s music and Barratt’s texts each hold their own codes. As those codes pulse as one, the album discovers its own language – two monologues begin a conversation that becomes a duet.
Earlier this week, Bryan and Amelia announced a special Spatial Playback event taking place at London’s ICA on the day of the album’s release. Fans can experience Loose Talk in glistening 360° audio at ICA, using the venue’s spatial soundsystem, d&b Soundscape. For more information and tickets, see here.
Discussing Loose Talk, Bryan Ferry said:
“The whole experience of making Loose Talk has had an interesting newness about it. It seems to have opened a whole new chapter in my work. There’s a really strong mood to the work that Amelia does and I was very conscious of not getting in the way of her words. Hopefully, together, we’ve created something neither could do on our own.
The nearest I ever got to doing pieces like this before would maybe be back in Roxy with “In Every Dream Home A Heartache,” and “Mother Of Pearl”. To some extent, those are kind of spoken monologues. I’m pleased that when we’ve played Loose Talk to people, they’ve said, “Oh, this sounds really different.” That’s what I’ve always wanted with everything I’ve done, or been involved in, to be: different. Different to what you’ve heard before, or seen before. That’s the whole point of being an artist: trying to create a new thing, a new world.”
Amelia Barratt said:
“Loose Talk is a conversation between two artists: a collaborative album of music by Bryan Ferry with spoken texts by me. It’s cinematic; music put to pictures.
There’s possibility for experimentation within a frame. And there’s a freedom in knowing exactly what my part to play is, then being able to pass a baton, stretching out creatively and knowing there is someone on the other side to take it further. Nothing feels off limits.”
Bryan Ferry and Amelia Barratt were first connected via their separate involvements in the art world. The collaboration began with a chance meeting at an exhibition opening, where Ferry grew intrigued to learn Barratt had started working with writing and performance in parallel with her painting. Both artists share an art school background – Bryan Ferry studied painting at Newcastle University in the 1960s, Barratt at Glasgow School of Art and the Slade School of Art, where she received an MFA in 2016 – but it’s the differences between them that animate Loose Talk and create unmapped territory.
Bryan Ferry’s collaboration with Amelia Barratt was first teased with the release of ‘Star’ in 2024 - presented as the latest composition on the newly released 81 track career-spanning collection, Retrospective: Selected Recordings 1973-2023 .
Loose Talk will be released on March 28 digitally, on CD, Black Vinyl, Green Vinyl and Clear Vinyl. The album is available to pre-order/save here .

Today, Wisp uncloaks the first chapter of her new era: "Sword," a brutally exquisite, icily-rendered depiction of internal maelstroms blown to epic proportions. The track is accompanied by a cinematic video directed by Rudy Grazziani and Valeriya Dyatko.
"Sword" comes ahead of what's sure to be a momentous year in Wisp's journey. She's slated for festival performances at Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Kilby Block Party, and, this summer, she'll join System of a Down on their massive stadium tour, sharing stages with SOAD, Korn, Deftones, and Avenged Sevenfold.
See all upcoming live dates below, and listen to / watch "Sword" here.
Of the single, Wisp says: "''Sword' represents the shame and confusion people feel when loved ones hide them from the world. It’s about not having a chance to shine because your partner keeps you in the dark."
In the "Sword" video, Wisp is thrust into a vivid dreamscape of high medieval fantasy. Fraught with filigree, the cavernous castle halls mimic Wisp's haunting voice, a sentiment further embodied by the ghostly, delicate frills of her white gown — made almost invisible against a snowy backdrop. An anonymous knight, clad in cold iron, stands as an ominous, heavy presence, until Wisp herself dons the metallic shell.
It's the first glimpse of her new world... and that world will get so much more vast in the weeks and months to come, as Wisp takes us towards her debut full body of work.
Inspired by the likes of Whirr and Slowdive (who, in a dream come true, she toured with in 2024), Wisp has crafted a distinct and sophisticated sound that strives to realize the expansive possibilities of rock music. Pigeons & Planes righfully predicted that “it is only a matter of time before Wisp becomes Gen-Z’s go-to ethereal fix,” while Notion declared that she is “bringing shoegaze back with a vengeance.”
Wisp has graced the global cover of Apple Music's New Music Daily playlist, reached hundreds of millions of streams across all platforms, was named an artist to watch by NYLON, Pigeons & Planes, Spotify Lorem Artist To Watch, Amazon Breakthrough Artists, Consequence Artist of the Month, and YouTube Music Artist On The Rise Trending, She's been featured in print in The New York Times and the LA Times, graced the cover of Alt Press's recent Winter edition, and has been featured across the web in Rolling Stone, Stereogum, PAPER, Brooklyn Vegan, and many more.
Her debut single, "Your Face," hit #10 on the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs: a telling indicator of her immediacy and powerful melodic instincts. "Your face" now sits at over 110M streams on Spotify alone, she has amassed over 250M total cross-platform streams.
In May of 2024, she played her live debut in Los Angeles to two sold-out crowds of die-hard fans wearing homemade merch. Just three months later, she played her first major festivals at Lollapalooza, Levitation, Camp Flog Gnaw, and Corona Capital. She's even headlined her own sold-out shows on three different continents: North America, Europe, and Asia.
Wisp has arrived, humbled by her experiences but emboldened to take on what's next. The saga continues...

(March 14, 2025) - New York’s Wet shares the new single “Close Range,” today. Wet a.k.a. Kelly Zutrau’s new song will appear on the forthcoming album Two Lives, which will arrive on April 4th and include the previously shared tracks “Coffee In The Morning,” “Signs,” “Double,” and “Rosy.”
Additionally, Wet will embark on the headline U.S. tour with support from Julie Byrne this May. The eight-date tour will see Wet and Julie Byrne perform in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Washington D.C., New York City and Boston. Tickets on sale HERE.
About Two Lives:
The name of Wet’s fourth album, Two Lives, originated during a dramatic moment in 2022. Singer-writer Kelly Zutrau was in Portland with the producer Buddy Ross (Frank Ocean, Haim), and the two were struggling to focus on music. But Zutrau was jolted into action when she received some surprising news: She was pregnant. At first, she felt overwhelmed by grief. Her future suddenly felt narrow and constricted, the limitless potential of youth yanked from her in a single moment. That day, she wrote the lyric that would define the mood of the entire record: “I wish I could live two lives.” Zutrau and Ross wrote most of Two Lives in the days following the positive pregnancy test. Two Lives is a document of the uncertainty that surrounds life’s major transitions.
Wet fans will hear Zutrau’s personal evolution across Two Lives, an album on which she grapples with memories of her own childhood as she faces the daunting transition into motherhood. In a recent interview, she recalled her early experiences growing up in Boston as the first of four daughters to her young single mother in the 1990s. “We were constantly moving around and lived with a certain amount of unpredictability, but my mom was very encouraging of anything artistic. Always signing us up for local plays, and taking me to singing auditions.” Zutrau said. You can feel this sense of unpredictability on Two Lives, as Zutrau explores ideas of home, restlessness, and the eternal search for something that’s been missing. Zutrau taps into the surreal space between the past and the present, creating a dreamy collage of memories and emotional ephemera.
Wet’s sound has evolved, too: During Wet’s early days, the group established themselves as savvy pop songwriters with a knack for genre-defying production. As Zutrau has evolved, she’s retreated from the polish and tidiness of her earlier songs. She still has a pop sensibility and an ear for hooks, as demonstrated on “Nostalgia,” her 2023 collaboration with rapper Rod Wave and her first appearance on a Billboard chart-topping album, along with her recent appearance on Fred Again’s Actual Life 3 album. But now, after a decade of making slicker-sounding albums and collaborations, Zutrau has accessed a deeper, messier realm of her artistic psyche, and seems to be more interested in working at the unfinished fringes of pop. The album was produced and recorded with Zutrau's longtime collaborators Joe Valle and Marty Sulkow, along with Daniel Aged (Inc. no world, Rosalía), Amber Coffman (Dirty Projectors), Buddy Ross and Aidan Spiro. The result of these collaborations is a project that is sometimes melancholic, sometimes bright, and always soulful.

Jenny Hval: Announce Album, 'Iris Silver Mist', Listen to New Single 'To be a rose'
Norwegian musician, artist and novelist Jenny Hval announces her new album, Iris Silver Mist, out on 2 May, the lead single/video ‘To be a rose’, and a UK/EU tour.
+ Pre-order from 4AD on limited pearl 'Northern Light' and standard black vinyl +
+ Pre-order and pre-save on all platforms here +

Iris Silver Mist is named after a fragrance made by the nose Maurice Roucel for the French perfume house Serge Lutens. It’s described as smelling more like steel than silver. It is cold and prickly, soft and shimmering, like stepping outside on an early, misty morning, your body still warm from sleep. A perfume, with its heart notes and scented accords, shares its language with music. Both travel through air, simultaneously invisible and distinct.

Rather than begin with music, Iris Silver Mist began with the absence of it. As the pandemic led to no live music, the smell of cigarettes, soap, and the sweat from warm stage lights and shared bathrooms was replaced by unphysical, algorithmic listening at home. Suddenly, and for the first time since she was a teenager, Hval found herself growing interested in perfumes. Smelling, reading, collecting, writing—she immersed herself with scent while her music was put on hold. It took her a year to understand what was happening, until she did: she was seeking another way of sensing physical intimacy. Where music had turned into a void, she filled it with fragrance.

Iris Silver Mist is very sensual, tactile and intimate—touching you as smells, sounds, and images do when they multiply. During a series of performances last year titled I want to be a Machine, Hval performed many of the tracks on Iris Silver Mist for the first time, before they’d been recorded, and surrounded by rice cookers, filling the songs with the misty smell of rice. Starting the album with a performance was quite an unusual approach—and it was also an intimate one. Emphasising the importance of the physical and live elements of music, these songs held the experience that was lacking in Hval’s life for so long.
Throughout Iris Silver Mist, perfume continues to turn into smoke, mist, and music. On lead single, ‘To be a rose’, Hval half-speaks, half-sings to the beat of a drum machine: “A rose is a rose is a rose is a cigarette." Roses and cigarettes are romantic forms of wishful thinking, transporting you someplace else. Of the track, Hval says: “’To be a rose’ was written as a restless pop structure. It has a chorus, with chords and a melody, but each chorus sounds slightly different, like we are experiencing the melody from different seasons, decades or even different bodies. The clichéd rose metaphor in the song is equally restless. It can change shape into a cigarette and then evaporate to smoke. My mother and I (two restless humans) are both present in the song: ‘I was singing in my room, she smoked on the balcony/Long inhales and long exhales performed in choreography.’ If about anything, ‘To be a rose’ is about how one thing becomes another thing, how we all come from somewhere and someone, and how this is stranger and more powerful than we think.”

The song’s accompanying video is composed of footage shot on various tours from 2015-2024 and edited by Jenny Merger Myhre, who handled visuals on tour in 2015. “Often we performed on stages or in places that had no screen, or even no projector,” says Myhre. “As a result, what I filmed would often not be visible for the audience, and so the act of filming became the performance. Using an old VHS-C-camera, I would film parts of the shows as a ritual of seeing and being seen. When we did have a screen, the camera was directly outputting to the video projector, and I loved the moment of going from ‘live footage’ to rewinding into backstage moments, preparations, and previous shows, allowing time travel to happen in real time.”

Iris Silver Mist is released digitally, on CD and standard black and limited pearl “Northern Light” vinyl on 2 May. Orders of the latter made via the 4AD Store will receive a flexi disc of bonus track, ‘I am an instrument’ (while stocks last).

Ben Frost Shares New Track "Permcat, Ки́їв" || Announces New Release 'Under Certain Light and Atmospheric Conditions' Out 5/16 On Mute
BEN FROST SHARES NEW TRACK
PERMCAT, Ки́їв’
UNDER CERTAIN LIGHT AND ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS
OUT 5/16 ON MUTE

Today Ben Frost has shared a new track “Permcat, Ки́їв”, launching a 7-track release, Under Certain Light and Atmospheric Conditions, out on May 16, 2025 via Mute.
Under Certain Light and Atmospheric Conditions is built upon two years of live shows, soundcheck improvisations and field recordings. It is a 38-minute dreamspace of jetlag, melatonin supplements, roaring crowds and failing technology.
The album approaches live performance as both an ephemeral event and an archival construct mediated through the predatory veil of DSP servers, where “live” is simply another hashtag aesthetic in an ecosystem of fake music and fake news. Documenting stage extracts from locations including Havana, Naarm, and Kyiv, these artifacts exist somewhere between memory and simulation, capturing not just a singular reality but multiple.
Listen to “Permcat, Ки́їв”, with crashing waves of synths and environmental recordings taken from his 2024 performance in Kyiv HERE.
The Scope Neglect tour, which continues in London on March 20th at EartH, Hackney finds Frost joined by Greg Kubacki of Car Bomb (who also features prominently on the album) and sound designer Carlos Boix, whose recordings of the past year of live performances Frost has seamlessly woven into the album.
Three of the tracks,”Tritium Bath”, “Chimera” and “Turning The Prism” come directly from Scope Neglect, while the remaining cuts “‘Permcat”, “Trancelines”, “Black Thread”, and “Prism Inversion” (with their roots in Ukraine, India, Mongolia and Brazil) are previously unreleased.
Throughout 2024’s acclaimed album, Scope Neglect, there are touches of metal, sitting alongside crackling electronics, field recordings, breathing animals and deeply contemplative explorations, resulting in something impossible to pigeonhole.
The presence of Greg Kubacki’s guitars, which unfold in sequences that smoulder relentlessly over time, echo the tape loop fantasies of Terry Riley. Through this meditative focus, frenetic logic gives way to an almost transcendental calm.
Scope Neglect is a deliberate opposition in terms, a dualistic game of obfuscation and obliteration, a sonic universe stripped to its most elemental core where the mechanics are reconfigured, reengineered, old energies diverted and redirected, scope expanded, contracted and dissolved.
Frost's diverse impact reverberates across film, television, and opera, earning acclaim for his score for Julia Leigh's Palme d’Or-nominated Sleeping Beauty and scores for TV series such as 1899, including a collaboration with Eliot Sumner (AKA Vaal), Raised By Wolves, Fortitude and the cult series Dark. His opera creations, including The Wasp Factory for London's Royal Opera House have cemented his position in the world of contemporary music and live arts.
Recent exhibitions for Broken Spectre, his latest collaboration with Richard Mosse, have run at London's 180 Studios, Melbourne's National Gallery of Victoria, SFMOMA, Photo Elysée, The Momentary Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas in 2023, and New York’s Jack Shainman Gallery. Two solo installation works A Predatory Chord and Among The Petals have been staged in the past two years.
The Murder of Halit Yozgat, Ben Frost’s opera based on the Counter Investigation 77sqm_9:26min by Forensic Architecture, opens at the Hannover Staatsoper on March 15. Full information and tickets can be found HERE.

Earning widespread praise across the globe and appearing on GMA3 TV, MSNBC TV’s Morning Joe, the critically acclaimed book was released last Tuesday, March 4 as a physical Hardcover, Ebook and Audiobook with Penguin Workshop, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers.
With otherworldly illustrations by Demelsa Haughton, Tori and the Muses is a thoughtful and sprightly tale of young Tori navigating the magical world of inspiration in all its forms. It features a child with a very special secret: the eleven Muses who have guided her artistic pursuits since she was a baby. Unhappy when her father forces her to rehearse for music recitals, the Muses remind Tori that inspiration is everywhere, and perhaps in helping others find their own Muses she may better understand herself. Filled with joy, curiosity, and imagination, this debut picture book will inspire, encourage, and most importantly, remind young readers to find inspiration in the things they love.
Tori just wrapped up a sold out U.S. book tour which kicked off as she announced a surprise accompanying soundtrack to the book titled The Music of Tori and the Muses, offering readers a unique multi-dimensional experience. The album features long time collaborators, Mark Hawley, Jon Evans, Matt Chamberlain, Ash Soan and John Philip Shenale, with Tori providing vocals and playing an array of keyboards as well of course her renowned Bösendorfer Piano. From album opener “Knocking” right through to “S’Magic Day” the music follows the journey of Little Tori on her fantastic day of discovery.

(March 13, 2025) - New York City-based producer, songwriter, and vocalist Maiya Blaney shares her new single “Fumbled” via Lex Records. The new song was co-produced with Emerson Fossett and Harlan Steed of Show Me The Body alongside Blaney herself. “Fumbled” arrives paired with the captivating and high energy visuals directed by Fiona Kane shot through the streets and shadows of New York City. “Fumbled” marks the first taste of a new project Blaney is gearing up to release with Lex Records later this year.
Speaking about “Fumbled,” Blaney shares, "’Fumbled’ came to be in the most off handed of ways. It was really more of an experiment than anything – we wanted jungle and punk to have a sweet little wailing baby.
Everyone was really on board to just try stuff out. Natalia Catalan got the bass line in like 2 takes, Harlan is just pulling pedals and modulators off of shelves left and right, and then Andrew Tassin played this call and response thing on the kit in the same bpm as the programmed drums and my jaw was on the floor. It was really a playground.
Fiona and I got the idea for the video from this hero sim running through the city and from there it became our own super 8 video game."
Since 2019, Blaney has been releasing music lacquered with emotion. 2021 saw the release of her album 3, which meditated on neo-soul and R&B sonics. With her new material, Blaney fully dives into her unsavory feelings of anxiety and unease, creating a tumultuous and intricate sound where drum n bass weaves with droning guitars, blips of glitch ping pong against grating synth, and Blaney’s vocals range from searing punk exclamations to gentle, exploratory croons.
Check out “Fumbled” above and stay tuned for more from Maiya Blaney coming very soon.
