Planning For Burial share new single / video “You Think

New LP It's Closeness, It's Easy out 5/30 on The Flenser

Today Planning For Burial shares a second look at his forthcoming new album It’s Closeness, It’s Easy, set for release on May 30th via The Flenser—a soundtrack to life’s quiet changes—grief, love, and the bonds that time can’t break.

Planning for Burial is the solo project of Thom Wasluck, emerging from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Following the cavernous and foreboding single A Flowing Field of Green, today he shares the fragile beauty of "You Think"along with an accompanying video.

On "You Think", his brittle, intimate atmospheric rock walks a precipice, driving and majestic, yet like it could crumble at any moment, eschewing the grandiose posturing of many of his peers for something infinitely more human and connected.

He comments: "'You Think' is the oldest song on the record as it has already been a live staple for a number of years and the only one to survive the first attempt at making the album. The lyrics evolved a few times over the years but the core of it is about making sense of everything after coming out of the blur of a years long self destruction party, my problems were of my own doing, and now I have to work to keep from falling back into the same pitfalls.

"Musically, I wanted to push the idea of what I thought Planning for Burial could be, I wanted to have songs with more movement, upping the tempo and utilizing my voice a bit more than usual while also trying to retain the smeared textured of guitars and synths."

The accompanying video, directed by Minneapolis-based artist Alana Wool, pays homage to “Bastards Of Young” by The Replacements. Wasluck explains: "The Mats were adverse to the idea of self promotion in the video age, they just wanted to be a band, there’s parallels to that in todays music business where it’s often not good enough to be an artist, you now have to play the roll of content creator/influencer to appease the great algorithm just to get your music in front of people. It often feels anti-art."

"I worked with Alana Wool to come up with a concept that pulls from The Mats complete middle finger attitude that was also a piece of art that to me really encompasses the feeling of angsty boredom with my own memory of late nights drinking alone, shuffling around the house watching the hours/days/weeks/etc peel away."

Watch / share "You Think" on YouTube

If Planning For Burial’s previous release, 2017’s Below the House, was about returning home, following in the footsteps of your father and joining a union, and leaving behind youth’s wild days, It’s Closeness, It’s Easy embraces what comes next—the weight of all years, the quiet shifts, the reckoning with what remains. This record is many things. It captures the slow drift of time, the unnoticed shifts in a loved one—the creeping changes in mental health, the quiet pull of addiction, the kind of grief that settles in the bones rather than announces itself.

At its core, It's Closeness, It’s Easy is about stepping into middle age and taking stock. It confronts the reality of living with the hand that’s been dealt and searching for meaning in what remains. It speaks to loss—the crushing weight of saying goodbye to a beloved 17 year old cat, the slow-motion grief of watching friends self-destruct, the inescapable passage of time as it bears down on aging parents and the self. But it also reflects the warmth of reconnection, the kind of love that never burns out but instead deepens. The feeling of picking up where things left off, untouched by the years in between.

While written over the course of two years, the recording process reflects a sense of immediacy. Rather than assembling songs piece by piece over time, the album took shape in singular, immersive sessions—less an act of construction, more an unveiling of something already waiting to take shape.

Rooted in a staunch DIY ethos, Wasluck handles every aspect of Planning For Burial project himself—recording the music, designing the artwork, and performing live as a one-man band. He books his own tours, ever and independent creative. This hands-on approach has led Planning for Burial to play hundreds of shows solidifying his place in the underground music scene. A defining moment came in 2018 when he performed at the Meltdown Festival in London, curated by Robert Smith of The Cure.

As of 2025 Planning For Burial has existed for 20 years. Wasluck’s debut full-length, Leaving (2009), was released on Enemies List Home Recordings, the in-house label of Have a Nice Life. In 2014, he joined The Flenser with Desideratum, becoming a cornerstone for the label’s connection to community and ethos. The follow-up, Below the House (2017), was met with widespread acclaim, further establishing Planning for Burial as a voice that's singular and unique.

It’s Closeness, It’s Easy will be released on May 30th via The Flenser. Pre-order here + see Planning For Burial on tour all across North America.

Florence Road Release New Single 'Caterpillar'

“One of the best new bands we’ve heard in ages” - DORK

“A band to get behind with urgency” - The Line Of Best Fit

Florence Road’s debut moment is accomplished in immaculate fashion - Clash

[Wednesday 23 April, London]

Florence Road today release their second single ‘Caterpillar’.

You can listen to ‘Caterpillar’ HERE.

In addition, the band have unveiled a lo-fi performance of the track, filmed on VHS on their recent trip to Boston, Massachusetts by Ace Torie. You can watch it HERE.

Produced by Dan Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan), ‘Caterpillar’ is a gorgeous acoustic ballad about the delicate emotions surrounding anxiety that breaks and bends against a lush, subtle string arrangement. Frontwoman Lily’s raw, velvet-edged vocals shine throughout, exuding both vulnerability & strength and anchoring the track with an undeniable magnetism.

Florence Road are a female four-piece from Wicklow, Ireland. Made up of childhood friends Lily Aron (Vocals), Emma Brandon (Guitar), Ailbhe Barry (Bass) and Hannah Kelly (Drums), the band spent their teens perfecting their craft in Aron’s garden shed, refining a sound that is as influenced by icons like The Cranberries as it is contemporary peers such as Wolf Alice and Phoebe Bridgers.  However, while influences can indeed be heard, Florence Road instantly sounds like someone new, especially with Lily’s rasping but elegant vocals at the forefront.

First capturing audience attention by posting covers online in their distinct style, the band have built up an ardent fanbase with only one official single ‘Heavy’ to their name, receiving early co-signs from Olivia Rodrigo and beabadoobee in the process. As the band prepares to release more music this year, both ‘Caterpillar’ and ‘Heavy’ should serve as ample warning that Florence Road are set to establish themselves as one of the defining bands of their generation.

Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer Natalie Bergman announces her sophomore solo album,  My Home Is Not In This World , out on July 18 via Third Man Records [Pre-Order/Save  HERE ]. The project arrives with the release of the album’s lead single and cinematic video, “Gunslinger” a genre-bending desert anthem that introduces the album's spellbinding sonic palette. The video was directed by Andreas Ekelund and stars American author, film maker and musician Ian Svenonius (the Make-Up, Escape-ism).

Listen to “Gunslinger”  HERE .

If you re-envisioned and rebuilt Motown somewhere in the California desert, it might sound something like  My Home Is Not In This World . Recorded analog-to-tape and produced by her brother and longtime collaborator Elliot Bergman, the 12-track record shimmers with gospel soul, country-western heartache, and rock 'n' roll grit, all filtered through Natalie’s unmistakable voice.

The title is an acknowledgement of my longing for this place over yonder,” Natalie reveals. “It represents my desire to not be a part of what’s going on digitally. I was trying to be the antithesis of a lot of modern music. There are some earthy sounds and many of the songs are about love. At the same time, it’s about finding my place on earth—even though I’ve never truly felt like I belonged here.”

“Gunslinger” leads the charge, with Natalie’s smoky vocals riding atop a ghostly guitar line, widescreen strings, and a slow-burning groove that evokes classic western film scores and vintage soul. Lyrically, it paints a portrait of unrequited love and yearning, for someone out of reach, or maybe a place that doesn’t quite exist.

Where her critically acclaimed 2021 debut solo album  Mercy  was steeped in grief and spiritual reckoning, written in the wake of the sudden loss of her father and stepmother,  My Home Is Not In This World  emerges from new life and rebirth. Natalie gave birth to her son, Arthur, in 2024, and the experience of motherhood has transformed her music into something equally tender and transcendent.

Bergman’s solo work and debut album Mercy received widespread critical acclaim and acknowledgement from the likes of NPR and Rolling Stone. With My Home Is Not In This World, she steps further into her own mythology, one that feels both grounded in lived experience and elevated by an otherworldly grace. As she continues to evolve, Natalie Bergman is ready to move hearts, shake spirits, and remind us all where home truly lies.

SPILL TAB "HOLD ME" SINGLE / VIDEO OUT NOW

SPILL TAB RELEASES NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “HOLD ME," WATCH | LISTEN

DEBUT ALBUM ANGIE, OUT MAY 16TH ON BECAUSE MUSIC; PRE-SAVE HERE

HEADLINING TOUR THIS SUMMER WITH SHOWS ACROSS NORTH AMERICA & UK

 Credits: Sweetiepie

French-Korean songwriter and producer spill tab has officially released her latest single, “Hold Me,” along with an accompanying music video - LISTEN / WATCH. The single marks the final release from her heavily anticipated debut album, ANGIE, slated for release May 16th via Because Music - PRE-SAVE HERE. A stripped-back and introspective ballad, the new track highlights the LA-based artist’s warm vocal range and evocative songwriting. Co-produced by spill tab alongside Wyatt Bernard, Austin Corona (Halsey), and Will Van Zandt (Omar Apollo), “Hold Me” masterfully blends a hazy bossa nova guitar melody with a downtempo drum groove and subtle piano chords, capturing the tender moments of longing as she reflects on her deep desire for companionship.

Directed by Sweetiepie, the “Hold Me” music video mirrors the heartfelt, contemplative tone of the single, capturing a series of intimate, quietly emotional moments. It opens with spill tab riding in the back of a pickup truck alongside friends, her pensive expression set against a backdrop of fleeting connection. The video then shifts between scenes of her with loved ones—her mother gently combing her hair, a quiet moment on the couch with a partner, and a tender shot of her curled up with her dog on her bed. spill tab’s soft, reserved demeanor throughout conveys a deep emotional undercurrent that complements the track’s introspective mood.

Speaking on the new release, spill tab shares “‘Hold Me’ was one of those special songs that poured out the day it was written. Sometimes songs take months or years to feel finished, I’m such an editor when it comes to my music, I love to cut and replace and add new parts here and there, or rewrite whole verses. But this one is really precious because it’s an honest snapshot of how I was feeling that day. I was sad and so lonely, and was processing a difficult breakup at that point. And so I love this song because it feels like a little world within a crystal, very honestly captured and well preserved.”

Additionally, spill tab will be heading out on her own summer headliner tour with shows across North America and the UK. The tour will kick-off on May 23rd in Toulouse, France, where she’ll play Le Weekend Des Curiosités Festival, with stops in London and Paris before returning to the U.S. on June 11th to play New York. Additional stops include Toronto and Chicago with the tour concluding in Los Angeles on June 17th.

Dream, Ivory Announce New Album And Share Lead Single "Solar Eclipse"

DREAM, IVORY

ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM & SHARE LEAD SINGLE “SOLAR ECLIPSE”

LISTEN | WATCH

WHEN YOU COME BACK I HAVE SO MUCH TO TELL YOU

OUT JULY 18TH

US DATES WITH BOA

Dream, Ivory Press Photo by Liam Walsh

Los Angeles duo Dream, Ivory have announced their new album, When You Come Back I Have So Much To Tell You, due out July 18th. Inspired by anime and J-pop, lead single “Solar Eclipse” chronicles a romance between the sun and moon over incandescent dream pop.

On the single, Louie Baello shares “Solar Eclipse is a song that tells the story of two lovers destined to reconnect. We wanted to explore a concept from nature as they find their way back to each other, using the idea of an eclipse to capture that emotional journey.”

Growing up in Southern California, brothers Christian and Louie Baello were each other’s universe. “We experienced the world through the same frame,” Christian says. That frame was heavily influenced by the number of times they moved, their identity as first generation Filipino Americans, and their parents’ love of music. Enlisted in piano lessons by their dad at a young age (“it wasn’t a choice,” Louie jokes), the Baello brothers cut their teeth covering the music their parents were raised on, everything from ABBA and the Bee Gees to the Beatles. Christian helms the production on Dream, Ivory tracks while Louie is the primary lyricist/vocalist, but every song they make is a true collaboration. Music has always been central to their sense of self-perception, but it’s just one of the brothers’ many talents. Together, they make all of Dream, Ivory’s artwork, videos, and visuals, it’s working: They have over 450 million streams across their catalogue and their debut single “welcome goodbye” is RIAA certified gold.

When You Come Back I Have So Much To Tell You follows Dream, Ivory’s 2022 debut LP, About a Boy, an album that interrogates difficult topics surrounding mental illness and suicidality with grace and conviction. When You Come Back… incubates a distinctive period in the brothers’ lives defined by dislocation and addiction. When their parents decided to move back to the Philippines, Louie moved to Los Angeles to live with Christian and his girlfriend, Lilia Shibuya, who contributed writing to the album. Though the brothers have been prolific since their teenage years, they stagnated as cohabitants. “We just didn’t really give a fuck about creating in that moment, there was just no inspiration in our lives,” Christian says. “Instead of writing, we’d get shitfaced drunk. It was bad. We’d record a riff, then take a shot.”

The brothers attribute that lack of inspiration to their early achievements. At 19, raking in tens of thousands of listeners on a single track felt like a major accomplishment, but the more Dream, Ivory grew, the benchmark for success leveled up. “There’s so much riding on our old shit, coming up with something new felt like going to the fucking moon,” Christian says. The moon being far, Christian spiraled. “I was drinking so much and getting caught by my brother, my girlfriend,” he says. “I was kicked out of our place.” But bottoming out eventually renewed his sense of purpose. Christian got sober, moved back in with his loved ones, and a songwriting breakthrough expanded their imagination of what Dream, Ivory could be.

WATCH OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “SOLAR ECLIPSE

During the SoundCloud rap boom, Christian and Louie started uploading their own DIY offerings to the internet, but that short-lived rap project soon evolved into Dream, Ivory. Largely inspired by shoegaze, surf rock, and shapeshifting artists like Damon Albarn, the brothers quickly amassed an organic fanbase online.

Love, or the promise of it, has guided the Baello brothers over vast emotional distances. The sense of longing that inspired the title runs through the album and is felt most acutely on “Sometimes,” another Shibuya co-write about unrequited love. “Felt the wind in Anaheim/ Like a touch you left behind/ Sometimes I just want it to stay,” Louie sings over a watery guitar part that sounds distinctly tied to the brothers’ home state. “Missing you is like snow in California.” Earnest and pining, “Sometimes” distills that yearning title, When You Come Back…, beautifully. “You could even apply the title to the distance between your current self and your past self,” Louie muses. “There’s no one way to interpret it.”

“Solar Eclipse” is preceded by “At Zero,” a blistering and catchy track Alt Press praised, writing “their strongest and most alluring, traces the roots of shoegaze, wobbly alt-rock, and the murk of SoundCloud uploads.” Their first single of the year,  “Lost Angeles,” tackles addiction head on over sugary guitars and auto-tuned vocals. The new singles follow their Jay Som collaboration “Milk,” which was praised by Stereogum, Consequence, Paste, Nylon and more.

Do It Afraid

PRE-SAVE: https://drinksumwtr.lnk.to/yaya-bey-do-it-afraid

(April 23, 2025) - Yaya Bey announces her new album do it afraid out June 20th via drink sum wtr. She first signaled this new chapter of her career with surprise new single “merlot and grigio” featuring Father Philis, and brings do it afraid into clearer view with two new singles “dream girl” and “wake up b*tch” also out today.

These two new songs embody the duality of do it afraid - the fantastical, fun-loving funk of “dream girl” is all about “escaping to the party for a little while” and “really tapping into your desires – knowing there’s a million heavy things that need your attention but also leaving room for fantasy.”

These two new songs embody the duality of do it afraid - on “wake up b*tch”, the album’s opening track, Yaya wastes no time setting the tone, opening the album with searing realism through a single, meticulously-rapped verse that ends with the melodic question of “what are you afraid of?” It’s a cathartic release that opens the door for “dream girl” and the embrace of fantasy. As Yaya puts it, the song is all about “escaping to the party for a little while” and “really tapping into your desires – knowing there’s a million heavy things that need your attention but also leaving room for fantasy.”

“I wrote this album from the most vulnerable parts of me, which contrary to what many people want to believe about me, is not my trauma but my desire to love, to feel joy...to be free," Yaya says of her new album. "In this life, pain and loss are promised to us; it takes real courage to dance in the face of the inevitable. To savor the now and make it beautiful. I come from a people who are masters at this. Onlookers like to make a spectacle of us. Rob of us of our nuance. But the truth is we are brave, resilient and joyful. I made this album for us. May we continue to do it afraid.”

Following the album’s release in June, Yaya Bey will be embarking on a headlining tour in September across the East & West Coasts. General on-sale begins Friday, April 25th at 10am local time. Yaya will also be playing a hometown festival set at Governor’s Ball in June. Tickets for Yaya’s tour will be available HERE.

Do it afraid is a commitment to embracing life as it comes, finding peace in the power of human movement and connection, even if life’s circumstances have left one scarred and afraid. Yaya’s journey to finding peace in that duality has led her to do it afraid, a collection of resolutely fun, full-hearted and clear-eyed songs that draw from R&B, hip-hop jazz, soul and dance music. On the album, Yaya worked with a wider cast of co-producers including BADBADNOTGOOD, Exaktly and Virginia musical collective Butcher Brown, with additional guest features from Rahrah Gabor, Nigel Hall, and others.

Yaya has steadily risen as one of the most important voices in R&B, finding a true breakout with her beloved 2022 album Remember Your North Star. Her subsequent full-length followup Ten Fold, which was a wholehearted showcase of all of the various nuances that make her the artist she is, was awarded Pitchfork's Best New Album in a glowing review. Ten Fold was also praised by the likes of ElleESSENCE, and Paste Magazine, who described the album as "Bey's most liberating music to date." Yaya also performed a stunning Tiny Desk concert last Spring, which NPR described as “truly healing to experience” and noting “Not a dry eye was left in the building.”

Listen to “dream girl” and “wake up b*tch”, and pre-save do it afraid above, see below for Yaya’s full run of headlining tour dates and the do it afraid tracklist & cover artwork, and stay tuned for more from Yaya Bey.

Today, LA-based singer, songwriter and musician, David Franklin Courtright, is releasing his debut single "Feels."

This dream pop tune was written in 2018 at Courtright's former studio in Brooklyn. He recalls, "This is one of those songs that hardly feels like a song—just two chords, but it developed and became a real favorite. It’s about being so in love with someone but questioning how real the love is or if the other person has the same intensity of feeling. I think it’s a question one can ask forever in a relationship. Is this real? Is your love real? It feels real but what if it all just falls apart. But I think it’s important to ask the questions, even if the answer is nebulous." The track features Julianna Barwick, who "came all the way out to Venice to put those incredible vocals on," Courtright recalls.

The single is being released alongside a video. "I shot the video for “Feels” outside of Torino, Italy, at my friend Riccardo’s 200 year old house made of chestnut trunks and huge slabs of granite from the forest," Courtright remembers. "It’s outside the town of Ceres, which is the last town on the train line, and then it’s another 30-minute hike up to the house, which is called Aran (meaning orange). High on the mountain above is a chapel built straight into the solid mountain rock in 1440, the Santuario di Santa Cristina. We shot most of the film up there, and the dancing sequences with my friend Dharma the husky, I shot myself by perching my camera up on the monastery walls and using my iphone to shoot the closer-up shots. Aran is one of my favorite places in the world and is a site of a lot of healing for me so I love getting to share the jaw-dropping grandeur and beauty of the place."

New York, NY — April 23, 2025 — Rapidly rising rockers and 2024 Spotify RADAR stars Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers return today with their first single of the year—and their first release since winning the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist ARIA Award—the raucous and celebratory “BALCONY.” Produced by 3x GRAMMY Award winner Catherine Marks (boygeniusWolf AliceFoals), “BALCONY” is out now via Mom + Pop Music (World) and Community Music (AUS/NZ) — [stream HERE/watch HERE].

“BALCONY IS FOR WHEN YOU’RE FEELING CHEEKY AND WANT TO KISS SOMEONE ON THE FACE AND GET KICKED OUT OF A BAR!!! CHAOS!!!!!” - Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers

“BALCONY” marks a bold new chapter for the band, expanding their signature sound with widescreen indie-rock flair. It’s the first track to emerge from a five-week recording stint at The Grove Studios in so-called NSW with London-based producer Marks, who the band calls “a frickin dream. We have learnt heaps from her and have been such huge fans for so long! She’s stupidly hardworking and makes us all feel very motivated and inspired, which is hard to do when you’re locked in an isolated studio for 5 straight weeks. Hallelujah and god bless miss Marks. The single also features engineering from 3x GRAMMY winner Oli Jacobs (Kendrick LamarbeabadoobeeTaylor Swift) and mastering by Ruairi O’Flaherty (Sabrina CarpenterLana Del ReyBleachers).

In just two weeks, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers will return to the US to join Pearl Jam as the sole support on six arena dates across Nashville, Raleigh, and Pittsburgh, as part of the Dark Matter Tour. They'll also play three North American headline shows in New York City, Los Angeles, and Toronto. This run follows their 2024 stadium tour with Pearl Jam in so-called Australia, where Eddie Vedder surprised the band onstage to congratulate them on their ARIA win and said, “For all the people who have yet to see them perform and this is your first time, we are very honoured that you will say, ‘I saw them on the same stage as Pearl Jam.’”

Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers — Anna Ryan (they/she, vocals/guitar), Scarlett McKahey (she/her, guitar/vocals), Jaida Stephenson (she/her, bass), and Neve van Boxsel (she/her, drums) — first broke out with their 2022 EP Pretty Good For A Girl Band, earning praise from The Guardiantriple jTeen Vogue, and others, with lead single “Girl Sports” landing at #55 in the triple j Hottest 100. Their 2023 debut album I Love You debuted at #6 on the ARIA Albums Chart and included the Hottest 100-charting single “I Used To Be Fun” (#52). That same year, they opened for Foo Fighters and were named one of Spotify’s New Noise Artists To Watch for 2024.

The accolades have continued, including nominations for Australian Album of the Year (J Awards), Song of the Year (“I Used To Be Fun”) and Emerging Songwriter of the Year (APRA Awards), Best New Artist and Best Single (Rolling Stone Awards), and wins for Best Independent Rock Album or EP (AIR Awards) and Artist of the Year (Music ACT Awards). Their 2024 deluxe album I Love You Too features standout collaborations with Softcult on “Dull” and The Linda Lindas on “Please Me.”

Now based across Ngunnawal/Canberra and Naarm/Melbourne, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have evolved into one of Australia's most urgent and exciting voices. Advocates for Green Music’s No Music on a Dead Planet, contributors to a Parliamentary inquiry into live music, and outspoken supporters of AAM’s Michael’s Rule, the band continues to channel their passion for music and social change into everything they do.

Rufige Kru - Goldie’s alter ego with SubMotive - have released brand new single  “Goldikus,” out now via London Records.

Taken from forthcoming album ‘Alpha Omega’, the track features guest vocals from revered UK music legend Cleveland Watkiss MBE, sampled from a
recording of Goldie’s 1993 set at legendary London club, The Blue Note.

Listen to “Goldikus”  HERE .

Speaking about the new track, Goldie says: “Going back through some of the cassettes — as I do — going back to the caveats of what those DATs were about... I thought, “Some of these cassettes look pretty good.” I remember hearing Cleveland on a session I was DJing at — at the Blue Note — I heard the crowd and Cleveland says : “Make some noise for the Goldikus!” I thought, wouldn’t it be great to sample yourself? I love what [New album] ‘Alpha Omega’ does — it’s like one of those Nolan movies, where it just keeps coming back on itself.

The rawness of Goldikus — having Cleveland’s voice sampled off a cassette tape with me DJing at Blue Note, having a little bit of the crowd in the background, a real, rootsy b-line, and a real simple, effective, classic break that has been repurposed and replayed with Betts and Blease. Betts particularly smashed this one, and I love that.

If the music can do anything, I think my purpose is for it to feel nostalgic and take you back to that moment. A lot of the older heads who’ve heard Goldikus before have said, “Man, it takes me back to Blue Note.” Well… that’s job done. That’s what it’s supposed to do.”

Goldikus” gives a taste of what’s to come on his forthcoming Rufige Kru album: an unfiltered, underground roller with breaks and a bassline that are made for the dance floor.

New album ‘Alpha Omega’ consists of twelve groundbreaking new tracks which bring together Goldie’s unerring dancefloor suss and the impeccable technical prowess of SubMotive (real name James Davidson). It is Rufige Kru’s deepest outing so far – a reminder of exactly why drum and bass remains the most exhilarating, groundbreaking and electrifying music on the planet.

The album will also include “Still The Same,” the single produced collaboratively by Goldie and SubMotive which features a guest appearance from the peerless grime MC and UK rap artist CASISDEAD, after years of requests by his fans to rap over a DnB track. In fact, it is rare for CASISDEAD to feature on tracks with other artists - such is the significance of this collaboration and it is his first new material since his critically acclaimed 2023 album ‘Famous Last Words’ and being awarded Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act at the 2024 BRIT Awards.

Listen to “Still The Same”  HERE . Watch the official music video  HERE .

Of the new album, Goldie says: “It’s a reinvention. We’ve gone back to the source and extrapolated from there. I wanted to create something that absolutely represents what this music is all about … and where it’s going next.”

Goldie will be on tour throughout the year, including two dates at London’Ronnie Scott’s and another show at Village Underground in April. Then in May, Goldie will feature as Artist in Residence at Detroit’s Movement Festival 2025 (TICKETS), before bringing his live show to UK festivals this summer. See a full list of Goldie’s live dates below, and on his official website: goldietimeless.com.

One of the most revered names in breakbeat science, Rufige Kru rewired the dancefloor for the first time back in 1992 with the hardcore classic, “ Darkrider .” Back then, Goldie’s musical partner was hip hop fanatic Linford Jones“He had a fantastic record collection,” remembers Goldie“I had a field day going through his records and pulling out breaks.” Engineer Mark Rutherford—who also worked with Peter Gabriel and Mark McLaren—was another early collaborator. The partnership yielded pivotal hardcore moments like “Ghosts Of My Life” and “Terminator” (still considered one of the key moments in the evolution of drum’n’bass).

It's a testament to the alchemy itself, that no matter who Goldie has worked with—or taken under his wing—the Rufige sound remains consistently forward-thinking and innovative. Though Goldie’s groundbreaking debut album, ‘Timeless’ and its 1998 follow-up ‘Saturnz Return’ broke through into mainstream success, he continued the sonic explorations of Rufige Kru with two had found a new music partner, Heist/Strider main man Jim Muir.

And then, of course, there was the first all-time drum’n’bass classic of the new millennium: Rufige Kru’s 2001 masterpiece “ Beachdrifta .” Recorded with Danny Goldstein, it was a record that—like “Ghosts” or “Terminator” before it—just turned everything upside down. So much so that, in 2017, when Goldie played two memorable nights at Ronnie Scott’s, the live rendition transformed the venerable jazz club into a 4am rave. “Sometimes you catch lightning in a bottle,” recalls Goldie. “That was one of those times.”

Now he’s done it again with the new record. Turning drum’n’bass inside out, reframing the breakbeat, setting the agenda all over again. “I’ve travelled with James (SubMotive) through every angle of this game and now he’s a formidable partner in the Rufige Kru echelon…boss levelz.”

“I’ve gone back to my roots,” concludes Goldie“That’s a beautiful thing for me. I’ve spent a lot of time honing my craft, developing these concepts, assembling all these moments. But that sense of possibility –what kept me going in the early days—is still there. I’m still as excited by this music and where it can go as I was all those years ago. The only limit is my imagination.”
