Uh-Oh & Prom Post
Yesterday I asked you what you all do, and I told you about my day. Umm … I left off the dogs and they are not happy with me. I spend time with my dogs, too. Lots and lots of time. I talk to them. I feed them twice a day. Make sure they have water. Get up from being really comfortable when they want to go outside. In short, I’m at their beck and call. They have my sincerest apologies!
Today is PROM for my youngest. Now prom includes all sorts of female insanity – there’s the obvious, mani, pedi, hair and makeup. And the not so obvious. Spray tan, eyebrow threading and more. I just hope I remember to pick up the boutonniere.
For me, back in the day, my friends had their hair done professionally. I always liked how I did my curly hair myself better. Still do. I also did my own makeup – same reason. So this is all insanity but I have to admit I enjoy the whole thing with my girls! Was prom as insane when you went?

What Else Do We Do?
I know we all read. But what else do we do?
I’ll go first:
Exercise? Forced torture but I try to do treadmill 3 x a week. Which I can manage usually 2x b/c I read while I’m doing it.
Television? Yes. If I’m home the TV is on … ABC from first thing in the morning – Good Morning America, LIVE with Kelly and Michael, Rachel Ray (under duress b/c it’s already on channel 7 and I really don’t enjoy cooking shows but she’s OK), The View, the News … 12:30 pm makes me nuts – nothing really to watch until 1 PM which is my ONLY switch – NBC – Days of our Lives (and that is only because I lost my all day ABC shows) … and then Katie Couric (but don’t love her show so that’s the time of day i start to move around) — when I don’t have my weekday shows, I look for Law and Order or SVU … yes, I’m also TV Addicted. I like the noise in the background.
Kids – I love to hang with my girls. Right now I’m in my daughter’s room and we’re watching Modern Family reruns.
Shopping – I like it. But I only go when I need things.
Friends – an occasional lunch with a friend, dinner on Sat nights with another couple …
Write – which is also a combo of writing, social media, PR etc. Really NOT a chore. And of course working on my books.
So what do you do to fill out your life besides READ? Feel free to use what I have and/or add to the list.

How Do You Wake?
So I’m curious … how do you wake up in the morning? Do you need an alarm? More than one? Is it next to your bed? Or does it need to be across the room so you HAVE to stand up and not get back into bed?
My routine goes something like this … If I’m waking my daughter for school at say 6:50, I will set my iPhone alarm for 6:30 and another alarm (on same phone) for 6:50. The 6:30 is so I wake up and come to myself before having to drag my body out of bed to turn on her light and make sure she wakes up. If I know I’m going to get involved in something once I wake her, I’ll set another alarm for 10 minutes later so I don’t forget to make sure she’s actually out of bed. In other words, I need a pre-wakeup, wakeup! On the weekends, I don’t set an alarm. AND if it’s during the week and for some reason I don’t need to wake her up first, I set my alarm for 7:30 so I don’t sleep in and I make sure I get my day moving! HOW DO YOU WAKE?

It’s always interesting and fun to look through images and fine one for a holiday. It has to resonate with me and this one did.
