"I was only out to test this book but from the first chapter, I met the figure of Taylor who doesn't mince words or wallow. I've read too many pastiches of investigators. Somehow this figure was not a person I rolled my eyes at. He isn't afraid of celebrity and forthright. Despite the loss of his family, he's not outwardly depressive.
