A couple that helped inspire me over the years would be Stephen King and Christopher Pike. I would say my favorite books of theirs would be Insomnia and the Dark Tower series by King, and The Last Vampire/Thirst series by Pike. I hope that answers your question.(less)

Thanks for the question, Monika!

I started writing little stories when I was young, around 8 years old or so. The idea for the first book of the War of Destiny series actually came about by accident, a by product of X-Files fanfiction back in high school. My secondary characters had their own stories to tell and left Mulder and Scully in the dust!(less)

Now on Kobo

I made the big decision to move off of exclusivity on Amazon and start offering book 1 of The War of Destiny series on Kobo as well. It is my understanding that it is more popular in other countries such as Canada and Australia among others. I've also heard that some US readers are moving away from Amazon as well.

I am planning to start offering book 2: Pursuit into Darkness on Kobo as well, hopefu Read more of this blog post »

"Princess Penelopy Perilous paced past purple painted panels portraying piranhas. She’d hated them since the day she’d got them on her tenth birthday and had nearly set fire to them before the castle staff stopped her, which was completely unfair. ..." Read more of this blog post »

4.5 stars - so very close to a 5 from me -

I really enjoyed Twelve Months and the different format the book took. Harry (and us readers) took several gut punches in Battleground, and I think we all needed some time. Some readers may have been rearing

“Mortals treat women the way they do because that’s what they have done for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. No one has ever really tried to change it … or even question it.”
Theresa Van Spankeren, Lost Soul

“Here is the place that separates life and death, sanity and madness, that is between darkness and light. Your soul has been traumatized and needs rest. This is the best place for that.” - The Woman in White”
Theresa Van Spankeren, Between Darkness & Light

“Aren’t you afraid?" I asked them telepathically.
"Terrified," Christy confessed. When I stared, I could see a fine tremor go through her. "However, that does not change anything."
"This is not the first time we have encountered Valentino. We have tried to fight him twice before, and once he tried to chase us through Southern France. Our group has gotten pretty good at evasion,"Matthew added.
"You mean running and hiding?"
"I prefer to call it a tactical retreat.”

“Which was your favorite?” she asked. “You can’t pick a favorite,” I said. “They’re books. They’re pieces of someone’s mind and soul. They’re almost friends.” I started back down the stairs again. “Sometimes a poet speaks best to what’s happening to you. Sometimes it’s a philosopher. Sometimes it’s a storyteller. Lately, I’ve been thinking of Kipling a lot.”
Jim Butcher, Twelve Months

“We have now left Reason and Sanity Junction. Next stop, Looneyville.”
Jim Butcher, Grave Peril

“Pain is a fire. And twelve months isn’t long enough to heal from life’s most severe burns. But, if you’re willing to work at it, it’s enough time to make a damned good start.”
Jim Butcher, Twelve Months

“A thousand curses on you and those who spawned you! You've plagued me long enough, you stygian fiend! I don't know what sulfurous pit you've crawled out of, but I mean to return you to it! I'll send you on a voyage down the river Styx if it's the last thing I do!" Twain directed his attention back to the phone. "No, I wasn't talking to you, but most of what I said still applies.”
Arthur Daigle, William Bradshaw and Fool's Gold

“Sometimes, Hoss,” he said very gently, “you lose. Sometimes the darkness takes everyone. Sometimes the monster escapes to kill again another day.” He shook his head and looked down. “Sometimes, Hoss, the innocent little ones are murdered. And there’s not one goddamned thing you can do about it.”
