Thank you so much for sharing that with me! I'm so glad you enjoyed the Heroines books! Not only am I planning on writing more Christian fiction, I am finishing up rewrites this month to my next novel, The Mark of the King! This one is set in French colonial New Orleans in the 1720s, and will release from Bethany House Publishers in January 2017. After this one, I have two more books contracted with Bethany. When those books are done, I plan to write more! (less)

Another one I really loved was Atlanta (Voices of the Civil War) by Time-Life Books. It contains lots of first-person accounts from both sides. If you're interested in Atlanta history outside of the Civil War, I can recommend The Swan House by Elizabeth Musser. It's a novel set in Atlanta in the 1960s.(less)

Pre-order Wedded to War: 10th Anniversary Edition!

Based on your feedback from earlier this year--along with my own preference--I am officially re-releasing my Heroines behind the Lines Civil War series! This series was originally published by Moody Publishers, and though each book won an award of some kind, they went out of print a while ago. Now I have the rights back to the stories. These are the novels titled Wedded to War, Widow of Gettysburg Read more of this blog post »

Jocelyn’s Recent Updates

The Manhattan Confessions by Jocelyn Green
"Jocelyn Green’s third and final book in the On Central Park series is her best yet. THE MANHATTAN CONFESSIONS is eerily similar to the immigration issues today, particularly in its depiction of vulnerable women facing exploitation. Her story powerful" Read more of this review »

Five stars for all the amazing research that went into this, the creativity in presenting both time periods (past and future), and for such an original time travel story.

"Oh my goodness... I have read a handful of Jocelyn Green's other books, but there is definitely something extra special about her On Central Park series. She truly does such a great job of transporting readers back to 1920s New York... and everything" Read more of this review »

“All good writers write [terrible first drafts.] This is how they end up with good second drafts and terrific third drafts. . . I know some very great writers, writers you love who write beautifully and have made a great deal of money, and not one of them sits down routinely feeling wildly enthusiastic and confident. Not one of them writes elegant first drafts. All right, one of them does, but we do not like her very much. We do not think that she has a rich inner life or that God likes her or can even stand her. (Although when I mentioned this to my priest friend Tom, he said you can safely assume you've created God in your own image when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do.”

John Milton, Paradise Lost

“Adversity, if for no other reason, is of benefit, since it is sure to bring a season of sober reflection. People see clearer at such times. Storms purify the atmosphere.”
Henry Ward Beecher

“Young love is a flame; very pretty, often very hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. The love of the older and disciplined heart is as coals, deep burning, unquenchable.”
