“We all know that feeling of being lonely in the whole damn world, despite the number of people around us. We are alone, in our own company. Surrounded by our thoughts and no superpower in the entire universe can help us to get rid of them. We cannot escape them just as we can’t stop our own imagination. We overthink non-stop. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“People often do not value beautiful things around them, and there is no more common thing in the world than human ingratitude.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Remember that love is a compromise, but never let this compromise turn into a one-sided sacrifice.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“We lose people who are dear to us on the way to reaching our dreams and goals. In the end, we don’t even understand how we allowed this to happen. After a while, all of a sudden, you open your eyes and realize that you have lost somebody you cared for, just because you were not right beside them recently. All these remote conversations, correspondence, likes on social media, all this worthless virtual reality will never replace the physical presence of someone valuable in your life. And what is the result? The paradox of this situation is that nothing special seems to have happened. You did not quarrel, you did not hold grudges against each other, but in the end, you became strangers.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Sometimes even the bravest hearts become vulnerable when it comes to love.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor

Nat: Unfortunately.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor

Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“The thing is people decide that there is nothing left for them to learn way too soon.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Calm down! I don’t believe in monogamy, okay? I don’t understand how you can be with one partner all your life. Love just the same person for the rest of your life, be committed to one person… Let me explain it in your language. It's like listening to the same song throughout your life. The same song every freaking day. Sooner or later you’ll get tired of it. Then those notes, that melody, those words will get on your nerves, and, in the end, one day, you will be done. That’s why there are people like me. We listen to everything, rap, pop, rock, country, even classical music. You must understand, you can’t get everything from one partner. I came back because I knew that no matter what, you will always be there waiting for me. You are giving me things others can’t give and vice versa. It’s easy.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Gaby: Calm down! I don’t believe in monogamy, okay? I don’t understand how you can be with one partner all your life. Love just the same person for the rest of your life, be committed to one person. Nathaniel: I can’t believe… This can’t be true. Gaby: Let me explain it in your language.
“We want forever, but forever doesn’t really exist. I guess that’s our main problem.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor

“I really start to think that feelings are not blessings given from the above, but curses ruining our entire being.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“God, I want to be able to control my mind. Why is it so hard?  I know that these thoughts are causing harm, that they are damaging my mental health, but I can’t stop. It seems like I am sinking into depression... Deeper and deeper. I’m almost drowning.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Nowadays, there is more freedom of choice, which may have complicated life for people instead of making it easier. People are living with their checklists and pens in their pockets, ready to find someone who meets their standards and expectations. It is like buying a product in a local store. Tall? Check? Funny? Check! Smoking? Heavy minus. And so on, and on, and on. They don’t even realize that they themselves can be the standard for someone they personally would never choose. It’s a dilemma that makes people lonely.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Dad kept saying that nothing in the world could be compared with the pain of losing a child. He said that he would not wish even the worst person in the entire universe to see the funeral of his own child. I didn’t fully understand the meaning of those words until I became a mother myself.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Probably the hardest thing to do is to pull yourself together, when all you want to do is fall apart.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“A man comes to a woman only if he loves her, otherwise, no duties will keep him close to her.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“These labels.  Again. They appear from the first day of our birth, and over time their number only increases. There are so many labels in our lives that sometimes we get lost, and don’t understand which of them has become the most significant one. We have stopped just seeing each other as ordinary people. We put these labels wherever and whenever possible. How easy it would be for us if we forgot about their existence even for a minute.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Good music is being released less and less. People need it less often. I’m not talking about the melody, the beat, but the lyrics. From my perspective, every song is a story performed by the artist. When was the last time you listened attentively to modern songs’ lyrics? People used to say that music is spiritual nourishment, it is like food for the soul, but if you look at our reality, you’ll see that people started focusing only on physical needs. Modern songs prioritize body over soul. It is because eighty percent of successful and influential labels release tracks that put parties, drugs, and sex as the main priorities of modern life. Seems like all the songs about love have already been sung and the greatest compliments that can be addressed to people are related to their physical characteristics. It feels like singers and songwriters are referring to some piece of meat, instead of a living person. The problem is that good, soulful songs are not to the taste of today's audience. Therefore, many genuinely talented artists are underrated and ignored because they are not following the rules that are dictated by commercial corporations, labels. I don’t know, maybe I’m too conservative.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“We have lost the feeling of compassion for all the things that are happening on earth. There has been so much crap going on, so much pain, that somehow, we learned to ignore it. Most of us stopped noticing, deeply feeling, reacting and by the end of the day we got used to everything, even to worse outcomes.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Take as an example today's politics, which is far from being rational and constructive. You know, there would be much less trouble if the system would demand politicians to fight side by side with the country's army if they were about to start a war. It was like that in ancient times, when the rulers of the country were also warlords. Take Alexander the Great as an example. To control puppet troops is one thing, but to fight and sacrifice your own life is entirely different. Would they risk it? I don’t think so. It seems like they don’t understand the price of the most important thing— life. They sit in their secluded places, with all their guards, play those strategic games, and call it politics. I call it bullshit!”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“I just don't get it. How does it happen, that good people let worthless ones into their lives? Why can't we just leave those people who are nothing but trash? We are not a recycling company for God's sake. I wish we had “human quality” scanners on our eyes set by default. Scanners which would reflect all the essence of people standing in front of us. Can you imagine how much easier our lives would be?”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“We ourselves  tell and show society and the people around us how they have to treat us. You cannot be overly giving and understanding. People get used to it and begin to take you for granted.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Memories are all that I have. It is always very easy to judge from the outside. It seems to people that they understand what is happening in your inner world, and on the basis of their pseudo- psychoanalysis, they give some advice to help, but in fact, they do not even see one percent of the whole picture of what’s going on inside you. Sometimes it’s better not to ask questions at all, not to give these stupid tips, but to leave the person alone so that he can figure out his feelings. Excessive attention and uninformed guidance are sometimes annoying. People normally haven’t got a clue what they’re talking about when they’re just trying to console you. They don’t understand that their stupid comments just make things even worse, not any easier.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Surprisingly, we finally understand whether we love someone or not, only when there is a threat of loss or death.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“Though... the most unpredictable and difficult war we must wage is the war with ourselves, with our own minds. Those people who have lost their minds apparently lost that war.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“I think that there is a book or a movie inside every person. We are all living stories that are waiting in line to be heard.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
“The silence was beautiful and we both understood that it was not worth breaking it, because there was more sense in this silence than if one of us started filling the moment with empty words. That was a crime which neither of us dared to commit.”
Ash Gabrieli, Petrichor
