Pull Me Close Quotes Showing 1-12 of 12
“I feel like I'm stuck inside my body. Everyone's moved forward, but I've been stuck in the same place. Since I've come into all this awareness lately, the hardest part has been remembering who I used to be, the dreams that died, the years I've lost.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“Life is just a series of curveballs thrown at you. Some knock you down. Some you hit over the fence, making you feel like a winner until the next one comes barreling by. It’s how you react to those that knock you down that define you.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“She’s brought light and purpose back into my life even though she has a dark cloud hanging over her.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“Feeling fear isn’t bad, but letting it stop you from doing the things that you want to do is bad.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“You can do something that most can’t,” he says, looking at me with an intensity I haven’t seen before. “You can look horror in the eye and charge forward, and you can survive.” I chew on my lip. He has a lot more confidence in me than I have in myself, that’s for sure. “I’ll be right there holding your hand.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“I hate that word,” she says between fits of laughter.
Moist?”
“I always change it on the manuscripts I edit … If should only be used when describing the consistency of baked goods. It should never be used to describe any part of a woman’s anatomy.”
“You mean…” Inadvertently, my eyes drift to her crotch and then I shake the thought away. “Wait? What?”
“Yes, I’ve seen it used to describe the women who are…” She looks up, apparently trying to think of the best word to use here, but I see where this is going. “Turned on.”
“They must not be that turned on if they are just moist,” I point out… “A man should be able to get a woman wet. Drenched. Not moist.” I want to add that I’d give my right nut to see how wet I could make her. But I keep my thoughts to myself, because we’re supposed to be keeping things friendly. But fuck friendship.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“I have no fucking clue how to handle this situation.
And now I’m the one who’s scared.
This right here should be the line in the sand for me, I thnk. I can leave. Walk away. This is way more baggage than I need or want. I’ve already been in a high-drama relationship, and I don’t need this in my life. These thoughts run through my brain quickly, like one of those silent movie reels, and as quickly as the enter, they leave.
Because instead of running as far away from this woman as possible, I slide in behind her, pushing her forward slightly so that I can wedge myself between her and the wall. I wrap myself around her. “Pulling you close and holding you tightly,” I whisper.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“Fuck it. I put my hand on hers, unclasp the death grip she has on the counter, and turn her around. With my other hand I reach forward and take a strand of her hair between my fingers. It’s soft and silky, and I can’t help but imagine it wrapped around my first as I fuck her senseless, which is absolutely not something someone should be thinking about their friend.”

“And hit to you too,” Matt says, taking me out of my hypnotic stare-down of his brother but surprising me with a kiss on my cheek. It’s so sudden, I don’t really have a chance to freak out.
“Mateo!” Nico scolds his brother, and pulls him away from me.
“Oh, shit. Sorry. No touching. I forgot,” Matt says, holding his hands out. “I don’t have germs. I promise. What do you need? Antibacterial cream? Rubbing alcohol? Shit. I’m so sorry,” he says in a rush, seemingly worried I might bolt right out of my own home..
“Great job at not making this weird, man,” Nico says.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“I can’t wait to have you spread out on my bed, sweetheart.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“I think the shit I said about being friends flew out the window when you opened the door today. I’m a fucking idiot.”
Sidney Halston, Pull Me Close
“Please look at me.”
She slowly looks up. Her eyes are wet, and I can tell she’s trying to hold back tears. The depth of her sorrow and torment are laid out bare on her face in a way that takes my breath away.
“Matt told me I hadn’t smiled in a year, except when you and I were texting.”
