I did write in Vollmann and Adam Johnson, but come one people, do I have to write in EVERY damn vote? Maybe it should all be vampire love stories.

Maybe this proves that the hoi polloi don't deserve the right to read, and that we the chosen should build a walled tower to keep the precious art of reading safe while the rest of the world farms mud or whatever it is the rabble does.

I embrace the unwashed masses reading (I don't have to love what they read, but...). I just think Goodreads/Amazon is gaming this. How much payoloa to appear on the first list? When there is no transparency, there is usually someone's agenda in the corner. If it was just a bunch of Goodreaders putting up their own garbage, that is one thing, but when it is the system itself putting up drivel... that is another.

It doesn't help probably that as much as I value my own aesthetic opinion, there is nothing I enjoy lampooning more. Maybe I should start incorporating winky-face emojis or serious-face emojis into my babbling?
