An eye-opening read for anyone who only knows the history of America as taught in school. Jared Dimond's book should have been Germs, and a few Guns and Steel. Disease so ravaged the existing populations and civilizations that the Europeans were able to easily colonize the land. Previous discoveries did not have it so easy so there were a lot of people to defend their land.
