is 40% done
First - a very wrong scene.
Second - the not-a-hero tries to act like his horrible deeds were somehow lesser than the other not-a-hero's bad deeds. Right - and robbing a bank is obviously less awful than stealing a dollar from mom's purse.
Third - somehow, the not-a-hero has a pet panther (okay, so that part's kind of badass)
Fourth - there's random magic FOR NO REASON.
WTF kind of madness is this?

Ahh, the beauty of the 80's romance novel. What do you mean no reason for magic? Isn't magic kinda like Jello and there is always room for it? Maybe?

Normally, I would say yes, but I have the feeling that the magic is just going to be there and not have a good enough explanation. But maybe I'll get lucky and find this isn't the case.
The synopsis alone on this book is epic. EPIC.

I just went and read it and I'm laughing so hard now : Garrett stole her aboard his vessel, planning to ruin her reputation and use her brutally.
