It is believed that genetically damaged people's behaviour is worse. That they are the reason for everything awful. The reason for crimes. The causes of wars. But is that really true? What's wrong with their genes? Why are they discriminated against for something that cannot be changed? Tobias refuses to accept that he is genetically damaged. He just wants to strike the Bureau, as hard as he can.

What's the difference between them and the others then?

What does it feel like when everything you've ever been taught, known, and believed was wrong? The world suddenly gets turned upside down. Tris used to believe that the factions were the way to live. But, she realizes that she was always living in an impaired world. A genetically damaged world. The Divergent used to be the special ones, yet they are really the only normal ones.
