(1) Continuity error. This is set in 1994, the Macarena (see gif) wasn't a thing until 1996.
- The male cheerleader on the right's creeping me out.
(2) "Fleur ... was eyeing Bill with great interest over her mother’s shoulder. Harry could tell she had no objection whatsoever to long hair or earrings with fangs on them."
- Fleur loves ze bad boys.

(1) For someone who doesn't think much of muggles, Fudge sure loves to wear their clothes.
(2) "Sirius Black!" [Mrs. Weasley] shrieked, pointing at him.
"Mum, shut up!" Ron yelled. "It’s okay!"'
- Often a good "shut up" is the quickest remedy for hysteria.
(3) Dumbledore forces Sirius and Snape to shake hands. Ever the teacher, ever the students.

(1) Fawkes uses his tears to speed up Harry's wounds healing. That's handy... sort of like wizard Polysporin.
(2) Now that Fleur likes Ron and pays him attention, I guess she's not hot no more. Not surprising. (see gif)
- Alternatively, once kissed, perhaps her veela powers wore off.
- Alternatively, perhaps Ron's shifted his attention elsewhere.

(1) Harry's first clue should have been that Crouch always called Voldemort "The Dark Lord." All upright wizards use "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named." The boldest just say Voldemort.
(2) Wonder if all the lip licking meant David Tennant needed ChapStick on standby?
(3) Karkaroff fled? Who's going to sail the ship back to Durmstrang? Magic, most likely.

(1) Not the most impressive group of Death Eaters here. A bunch of no-names, Buckbeak's would-be executioner and some Slytherin dads.
(2) Wormtail speaks rat. Apparently being animagus gives you the ability to speak to animals. I guess McGonagall speaks cat.
(3) Voldemort gives a traditional villain tell-all monologue. A tad cliché if you ask me.

(1) Somehow, my recent review for "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" switched editions. Normally I'd switch it back, but it's the second review I've written for the book, and Goodreads only lets you switch the edition of either your earlier or more popular review. So now my book covers no longer match! and my OCD is driving me nuts!

Yes, very true, though Ron has his own powers of attraction. As the anti bad boy, he naturally attracts Hermione, who's sort of the anti-Fleur :)

Chafic (Rello) But what if it was actually wizards who invented the Macarena? It just became muggle adopted by Los del Rio ?

I'd buy that as a possibility. Just because wizard tech and fashion seem stuck in the middle ages doesn't mean their music is, as evidenced in the films. Los del Rio could be wizards themselves, for all we know... they bewitched the world well enough. 🤷‍♂️

Amber Oh yes, she's Anti-Fleur through and through 😂👏♥️

Jayson Amber wrote: "Oh yes, she's Anti-Fleur through and through 😂👏♥️"

Yeah, unlike Fleur, you'd never catch Hermione necking with boys behind bushes, or being a snob about Christmas decorations. No, not our Hermione :)

Karleny Diaz Hay I love the Harry Potter book so
much it is the best👍💖

Amber Our Hermione rocks!!! 😁❤❤ she is to b found in libraries or places (protesting mind u) where she's not allowed to be by school book rules 😂👍🏼

Annie If Rowling would write a book or series geared to older kids/teens I would so read about Bill. He sounds like a fun character from what little we hear about him

Caroline "The male cheerleader on the right's creeping me out."

Haha!

Good catch about the Macarena. I remember when that became big--all of a sudden and then strangely, it just faded away.

Caroline Annie wrote: "If Rowling would write a book or series geared to older kids/teens I would so read about Bill. He sounds like a fun character from what little we hear about him"

Very true. We know almost nothing about Bill. She should write a book about him and stop creating origin stories.

Yes, I agree. You can really see Ron's (bad) influence with her increased inclination toward rule-breaking as the series progresses :)

Mrinmayi Bill does have 'bad boy' persona
But l never thought Fleur would get serious with him
I loved how her character evolved
From begin slightly irritating to becoming one of the important characters . Fleur's character fascinated me😊
Though Hermoine will always remain my favorite * Team Hermoine here *

Jayson Annie wrote: "If Rowling would write a book or series geared to older kids/teens I would so read about Bill. He sounds like a fun character from what little we hear about him"

Yes, I agree. Though, personally, I might be slightly more interested in Charlie's life as a dragon wrangler in Romania than Bill's life as banker. But, I'm sure Rowling could make any sort of book about the Weasleys interesting. Their home life is often the best parts of the series.

Amber Some rule breaking is good for the spirit 😂 bless u Ronald Weasley 😆♥️

Not only is the male cheerleader the only male member of an all female school delegation, he doesn't seem to know how to use a noisemaker, or clap correctly. I can't tell if he's a teacher or a student, though he does strike me as plainly French for some reason.

I think the closest thing to the Macarena we've had since is Gangnam Style, which similarly faded away after it bewitched the entire world... all for the better if you ask me. 😄

I'd be very happy with either a backstory book on Bill, perhaps at Hogwarts, or a rom-com style book with Fleur, perhaps family life at Shell Cottage.

✝✝ Christina ✝✝✝ I never wuld have noticed that

Jayson Mrinmayi wrote: "Bill does have 'bad boy' persona

My personal theory is that Bill's bad-boy persona is a consequence of him working at a bank. You've got to have some sort of wild expression of personality to counteract all the monotony. With desk jobs, I find people either let the job make them boring or rebel against it in some outward way. Plus, I don't think goblins have a problem with long hair.

Fleur definitely became less of a snob once she got married. But ultimately, Fleur's representative of a lot of people who "grow up" emotionally after they leave school. Very few people I know are the same person they were in high school.

I think my personal favorite among the girls might be Luna :)

Jayson Amber wrote: "Some rule breaking is good for the spirit 😂 bless u Ronald Weasley 😆♥️"

That's why they're such a good couple. She makes him more caring, and he makes her more daring 😁👍

With either the male cheerleader or the Macarena, once you see them, you can't un-see them :)

Raphaella Fleur and Bill are somehow one of my top ships throughout the hp story. I love how you spotted this continuity error, at least I am not alone in seeing them too😊😊😊

I think Bill and Fleur's relationship was just lovely, particularly after the whole werewolf incident.

It just occurred to me, I know the book is set in 1994/1995, but I'd be fully accepting that the films are set a year later. That would clear up nearly all the continuity errors for me. But, sadly, we get no indication of that 😄

Mrinmayi @ Jayson Luna is a sweetheart 🥰
J.K. portrayed bravery in various forms
Especially with the girls
Every woman in the book was distinctive and has different personalities
Luna taught us it's ok to be different
The way she showed emotional strength during her capture was applause worthy
Among the girls Hermoine is my favorite but overall among the women Lily Potter was my favorite
Even though we did not get an insight to her character she impacted the story
Whatever little memories we get of her were enough to make her an inspiration
Be it her love , sacrifice or kindness Lily Potter never ceased to surprise me

Yeah, I think a great hallmark of this series is how every character is distinct. You don't really get too much of that in books aimed at children. Even background players like Hannah Abbott, Susan Bones, and Ernie Macmillan, who don't play an active role at all in the books, we feel like we know them and feel bad when bad things happen to them. Every character, no matter how small, feels real. The fact that you have so many favorites is testament to the great character work in the series.

It's part of the reason I'm sort of dissatisfied with Ron and Hermione's portrayal in the films. Hermione's supposed to start off scared and timid and crying all the time, and over the course of the books she gets braver and braver, a lot due to Ron's influence. By making Ron into a goofball, and taking all his positive traits and giving them to Hermione, there's little growth in either character.

Frankly, I don't blame people who wouldn't think Ron and Hermione would make a good couple, because based on the films they don't compliment each other at all. They make each other better in the books, and don't at all in the films, which is why them ending up together in the films seems so odd and out of the blue.

Amber And same can be said of Harry n Ginny as well, n that too is the outcome of keeping Ron out of the focus, so yeah they (Ron+Hermione, Jinny+Harry) seem to b Forced, abrupt n even distasteful in coming together. I'm not saying that movies have the potential to show ALL the character development from books but they could've done better, esp with Ron..... n Hermione sure does cry a lot 😂 it was the first thing that bothered me about her character (being a an exclusive movie person up until this year), she gradually became stronger and yes Ron had a massive role in it, n so did Victor to some extent, being pen pals with international celebrities is no small feat either, though as Ron would object "Victor wanted to b more than just pen pals" well "Weasley is our king" take that Victor!!! 😆👍🏼

I don't believe movies should show all the character moments in books either, but I at the very least expect them to be somewhat faithful to the source material. Hermione in particular felt like an entirely different character from the books.

Ironically, Ron did more on the quidditch pitch to boost his love life than Viktor ever did, he got a steady girlfriend out of it, albeit Lavender Brown, which in turn drove Hermione violent with jealousy. Viktor, on the other hand, targets both Ginny and Hermione, fails both times, leading him to lament in the last book what the point is of being an international sports superstar if all the best girls are taken. I mean, who's the real quidditch heartthrob? 😁

Amber Well ascribe it all to some weird"Hollywood logic" for committing unnecessary character fraud and theft...😒

Lol yes Victor has tough luck, even on Fleur's wedding he's thwarted by "lesser" quidditch celebrities i.e. Ron n Harry hence his lament...what's the point of being an international celebrity, all the pretty girls r taken 🤣
Hogwarts Quidditch Team Rules Supreme!!👏👏👏🤣❤
