I do like this book but I must say it's certainly slow going 🙈

Okay, 2 things: I saw the twist coming from the first few pages, and also the sense of time and worldbuilding really could be improved. I can't picture this as an era of knights; it feels like the 17- or 1800s. Other than that, the banquet scene was definitely nice.

Really like this so far. The writing is simple yet eloquent. The secret is enticing. The hints of a larger world are exciting. The characters in the kitchen house are endearing. Poor Nora...that experience of hers at the start was terrifying, but thank god for families (and found families, at that).
