After I recommended Beagle's A Fine and Private Place to George Saunders during a booksigning last month, I read Beagle's bio on Wikipedia and learned of this memoir. I'm totally enjoying it. I'm just a few years younger than Beagle, so remember the early 60s very well. It's great to see this era through his eyes, his journey. How much has changed in so many respects in 55 years.
