Muntadhir rose to his feet. “So he’ll live?”
Nahri forced herself to meet her husband’s eyes, not missing the tangle of emotion in them. “He’ll survive this.”
“All right.” Muntadhir’s voice was low and troubled enough that Nahri saw Hatset narrow her eyes at him.

Manizheh is cool asf but also wow evil. at least she’s being more of an MC than her daughter who continues to “come into her own.” I rly rly need Nahri to start taking the reigns of the story instead of being dragged here and there. Like yes it’s just book 2 and I have no complaints on her character but I need her to be a plot driver for once. Will say that the political intrigue is A1 however

first of all, muntadhir is annoying tf out of me. jealous as hell and for what?? don’t come for ali.

second of all, alizayd my bb. it’s been a while since I’ve read a character whose primary quality is ‘goodness’ and I’m not annoyed by it. I just appreciate him tbh cute ass
