The characterization is good in this (genuinely so impressed and captivated by this series so far that Muntadhir makes me kind of see red tbh.

Slowly descending to a reading slump :(

I knew the peace Ali felt at Am Geziri would not last long, but I didn't realize how immediately harrowing it would be. I'm really enjoying the characters working towards a hospital (it's the only plot point in the story that doesn't induce extensive anxiety). Nahri's marriage and her life at the palace continues to make me feel lonely, my heart goes out to her.

Very well written and interesting! The three-person perspective was a change from the last book and I definitely struggled with that and all the character names (though I could have kept refering to the front guide on characters). Maybe not a book I should have read at the bedside.
