Erikson so beautifully captures the guilt daughters face when recognizing in adulthood the personal identity their mothers sacrificed to preserve theirs.

While nothing groundbreaking, I was pleasantly surprised by the raw exploration of postpartum depression and motherhood delivered via this arc, by a man in the early 2000s no less.
