What on earth is happening in this book!?

I'm actually a bit further, through Ch19, but the book is across the house. The layers just keep hitting. This is grabbing me in all the good ways epic fantasy can. I'm keeping the figurative fingers crossed that it continues, but so far, just a good ride and I can feel the buildup just ever so slightly starting. LET'S GO!!

More fun characters! This is getting interesting

A lot is happening and I'm not sure I'll remember the names. Lots of twists and turns too and unexpected actions. It's fun though.

So far so good. Prologue wildly confusing, but that's table stakes for epic fantasy in my experience.

I'm not sure where it's going but it's good so far! I have a couple hunches as to how things will progress, but I think that's just more or less things picked up from standard fantasy reading, nothing overly complex, then again authors do love their misdirection! I guess we'll see.

Listening to this audiobook is making me sad. Clearly her family was horrible and her repeated relationship issues seem to point to someone that needed some counseling. Maybe now that she's got kids, the vibe will uptick, but that might just be wishful thinking.

I don't know, it's not grabbing me like other books. She's starting to talk about the Timberlake relationship, which is ok but not really what I'm looking to dive into. The nice thing is that the ebook is easy to listen to. We're still not out of the realm of DNF, but probably will finish it.

this book is growing on me, I wasn't sure after book 1 if I'd enjoy the series, but this feels like it's pretty gritty and I think unless the ending is completely flubbed, this will be a continuing series for me.

early story right until the "one more time" release blowup, she's a slightly tragic figure. Not the worst family situation, but certainly not the best. Intrigued to see the rest of the story in her own words.

Um, this thing just took a turn! A new POV that could seemingly really mess things up. Also, interesting slow reveal on magic and family stuff.

Moving along well, curious what's coming next.

In some other books it may not work, but I'm liking the quick POV shift and short chapters. Plus early on there's a lot happening here and there's a slow lore/world building along with fast-paced action and plot. This seems like it's about to get wild.

Good intro, waiting to see how Soren and Meg work into what's happening. There's allusion to something that, I hope, becomes apparent

I can feel the Sanderlanche starting to form. Vivenna thinks Vasher sounds scholarly, hmmm, can't imagine why!

I had forgotten a lot of this book, I'm glad I'm rereading it. I'm still not seeing why people say we need to read this before Words of Radiance. Maybe something will pop up that makes sense.

Reread, or rather a re-listen, just for fun.

I have no clue as to how this book will end. The machinations that are happening are thrilling to try and unpack. That said, I still think about that bison or buffalo thing that they "met" on the road and what it is or how, beyond the immediate, it impacts the story.
