Got this reimbursed at work even tho it's a primarily ethereum book and my job is in cardano, still some principles carry over! Well written, informative, suitable for noobs.

Possibly the best book I'll read this year.

Popkin makes brissot sound cooler than Mike Duncan made him sound. I got this book to augment the revolutions podcast and it was a really good decision!

Struck by how one of the major sources of disagreement was about time-- is anarchism viable this century, next century, or in 3 millennia (literally one writer said "if all anarchists were like Shifu we'd get there in 500 years, as it stands itll take us 3000")? And how the different opinions about that question implied different stances on the assassination vs education divide.

Having a good time. Some really difficult sections! My only concern is that I'm blasting thru too fast now in a way that's bad for retention. Also, I reread the first 20% because they published a new version since I started it.

it's actually starting to get engaging. i'm getting wrapped up in just the prose. i have no idea what's going on in the sense of like knowing the difference between two different named characters, but the mental and aesthetic spaces are coming through loud and clear.

turns out imperative programming was just pure functional programming from state to state all along!

just trucked through 2 much easier and much shorter chapters.

one of my secrets to getting thru InductivePropositions chapter was pivoting myself to spending very little time on exercises marked "optional", focusing only on the ones marked "standard".

also, there are at least 2 chapters of volume 1 i'll be skipping, (the class at Penn skips 6)

painfully slow. as it gets harder i get noticeably sadder without the stream of dopamine from completed exercises. my skipped exercise rate is getting atrocious, but i'm not willing to just stop moving forward. I think this is just going to be a preliminary pass that refuses to spend more than an hour on a single exercise (even tho i've invested more than 3 into several exercises already)
