I’m loving it

It’s at the same time slow burn and fast in the developing of feelings, but it’s done well and enjoyable so it’s not an issue

She laughed,a glorious sound that danced right over my heart. A man could be persuaded to do foolish things to hear that laugh

“That is so sweet.”
“You’re trying to piss me off, aren’t you?”
“It’s so easy. At least make me work for it.”
Lucian’s gaze tangled with mine, and my breath caught, heat simmering low in my belly as I thought about all the ways he could do just that. Maybe he thought the same, because those wintergreen eyes weren’t cold in the least.

“I meant every word I wrote. And I know it isn’t enough . . .”
“Words never feel like enough,” I say. He winces, and I continue in a soft rush. “When you’re the one saying them. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t. You opened a window to your heart. You gave me your trust. You didn’t have to do any of that, but you did. And it means something.”

“I don’t think this is very professional,” she says weakly.
“I should hope not.” God, I love teasing her. Her whole body lights up when I do it. Foreplay. Does she realize that’s what we’re doing? “I was just thinking—”
“What did I say about you thinking?” she warns.

This need for her is only growing stronger, deeper. I care for her. A lot.
Everything could go up in flames if things go south between us, and I’ll lose her completely. But sitting here in the dark, waiting for her to come home just so I know she’s safe, just so I can hear her voice and see her face, makes it perfectly clear that I can’t keep pretending that I don’t care.

“Hey.Get your own”
He is unrepentant and steals another bite. “But it’s so good”
“Then you should have ordered it. Take another bite, and I’m biting your hand”
He goes in for a piece, and a fork duel ensues.
“Stop eating my food”
“But yours is better”
“I know. That’s why I ordered it”
“Come on. Just one more bite”
“No. Eat your damn salad. It’s good for you”
“I hate salad. Fuck the salad”

He finishes his drink before speaking. “You put something different in this.”
“It’s arsenic. I’d have gone the powdered-cookie route, but you’re on a diet.”

“We start shooting again in June, and they’ll have a fit if I gain an ounce.”
“Have to keep your ass in tip-top shape for all those screen flashes?”
He pauses, and the air becomes too close as his gaze glides over me, a smile oozing out—smug and heated. “Why, Delilah, have you been watching my ass on screen?”
“No. But Sam has. Can’t say it was enough to keep her around, though, eh?”

The scene between Illium and Raphael was so beautiful it broke my heart

I'm about to get to the parts after Illium ascension and I don't want to

As long as we stay in the present I’m into it. Adore this characters and world

Thank G most of the chapters are set in the current time and fewer 700years in the future 🙏🏻 truth is I haven’t been excited about this book, we always knew some things were going to happen one day, Illium ascending and leaving the 7(he never wanted to) and Elena’s mortal family and friends dying, but I don’t want to read about it. It’s just a me thing, I’m sure the book is great, I loved all of them

“But so could I,” I told him, half joking.
That wiped the smile right off his face.
“To very handsome men too, Fluff.” I was messing with him now.

“I don’t give a fuck who your biological anyone is.And I’m never going to.You are a good person.And I want you enough for both of them. For all of them.”

And then there was Henri, whose every action made it seem like he cared about me, even if he wasn’t doing anything about it.
I wanted him to do something about it, dang it.

He wants her a lot, but he keeps pulling back from taking the last step so, tell him girl!

I had never really asked for more than I had or more than I needed. I knew in some way that I’d always had more than most people could or would. The things I might have wanted, I knew to an extent could never really be mine.
But all of a sudden, right then, I thought about one more thing that I wished I could have. One more thing I wanted. So, so much.

A warm, dry palm cupped the nape of my neck, a thumb and index finger landing on the tendons on either side of my throat.

The start was rocky but I'm enjoying it very much now

I’m getting into the romance😊, the paranormal part so and so

This is... weird... I'm really not sure what to think

1. This is very different from MZ usual stories and I'm a bit worried because I didn't like her other paranormal romance, but she wrote some of THE BEST romances ever so I'm excited too... ​🤞​and 🤩

2. The cover is gorgeous

My… the main character turned stupid in the last chapters 😒
