I don't know if I will be able to give it 3 stars

If he just hadn’t been too much an ass on a couple of scenes it would have been much better. I think it’s 3 stars at the end of the day.

I mean, she was an idiot, big idiot, a real tstl moment, but screaming at her and calling her an idiot little shit and in front of other people? No thanks. Him being all sweet after it’s not actually sweet. And he’s just forgive because he was real nice about something else? I can’t fully enjoy anything about him anymore because he didn’t even apologize.
And it’s a pity because parts of the story are cute

I hate the cheesy love declaration in front of a bunch of people, it gives me so much secondhand embarrassment.
There are so many moments in romance books that make me think “I wish it happened to me”, but not that one.

“Kai, I know.”
“You. . . what?”
“I know you won’t hurt me.” Because despite everything, despite all logic and self-preservation, I do know. I feel it in my bones.
“You know”
“I know you won’t hurt me because you love me.”
My heart constricts, aching for him, for us, for this impossible situation we've found ourselves in.
“And Kai?”
“Yeah?”
“I love you too.”

A lop-sided smile springs to her lips.

Orlaith and Rhordyn finally together was everything I needed and more

Man I'm in a mood today...

From the moment I boarded that ship, I fumbled through the world like a newborn foal. I fed on freedoms that went against the grain of everything I’d hoped to achieve. I was sightless, gullible, impulsive.

Somehow the fact that she's only now realizing how unbelievably stupid she has been for an entire book it's making me even more angry

If there was less of Orlaith lacking judgement and not seeing the obvious and more of the other characters (not Cain) this book would be way more enjoyable. I'm skimming through some of her chapters otherwise I'll end up not being able to stand the book. She annoyes me a lot.
Rhordyn on the other end is great, so fascinating, and all of his scenes with Orlaith are 🔥

Orlaith and Rhordyn' scenes are amazing. Intense and full of raw feelings and chemistry. But the reading is very frustrating for me because stupidity and stubborn refusal to listen to people who know more are things that I can’t stand and make me want to just get it over with fast.

“You’re going to be the death of me.”
“So long as you take me with you,” is my strangled reply, and for a fleeting moment even the rain seems to hang in the sky, as if the world is sucking a gasp through parted lips.
“Never.”

Still not sure what the plot precisely is... but the chemistry between Orlaith and Rhordyn is 🥵​🔥​
