I love books about translation

The toxicity is not over sold this can even be triggering if you had an abusive ex but its beautifully written and the passion from the monstrous vampire figure is haunting.

Scary and not from the vampires. Abuse is monstrous.

Now we moved to toxic relationships, power imbalances and how secret lives can make abuse easier.

Im falling for the characters, the idea of freedom in the monstrous , the lack of humanity as pat of the”being yourself” and being “free” I think this is why I love monster stories and even more queer monster stories.

We are getting new character POV this late kn the book. Hmmm interesting

It was a cleaning morning so I got farther in. Still only vibes, character inner world exploration and some vamp lore thrown in together in a dark melodic prose. Im enjoying it.

The descriptions of the blood drinking… 10/10. I feel I have learned that with V we get a great atmospheric writer but the plot gets lost and in here I can feel she is finally leaning to that, we are just having fun with the characters , I do see a lil of queerness as monstrous and I wanna see if that develops more or is a lingering idea. She did that with Addie , a lot of general ideas but no development of them.

Even tho it was well prepared I dont know how I feel about some twists.

Ark Im not a fan of the villain story.

The lore is fun , I would have preferred longer chapters for the POVs. Who knows maybe Im expecting rich world building mixed with deep character progression instead of just stories? Did Sanderson made me appreciate long fantasy books? Maybe

This one feels more like dark fantasy/ Goth romance than romantasy. I want more world building but i gotta admit this is better than I expected

Still ok and fun but not mind blowing changed my life. The smut was hot.

So far is ok. I do like the atmosphere, not convinced about the magical system but its not a turn off and i guess Im halfway the book and we are kinda world building still we just started the actual plot, after Sanderson thats not something that bothers me as much as it used to.

A bit predictable on the romance, interesting magic system, still not convinced about the world building.

As someone who analyzes the world and uses media as reference I love this story more.

Now that I know why I empathize more with the sci fi robots this is more fun
