The story kind of reminds me of Gypsy Rose because she was also told to lie about her sicknesses. If you don't know who she is, she is a girl who got manipulated by her mother to pretend like she had a lot of sicknesses she didn't have to earn money off of her. She had multiple procedures done to her to "help her get better" when she was not sick.

In the book, the money sent in was also used to benefit the adults.

Jonathan Gribsy, a 12 year old boy who committed a terrible crime, is put into a horrible facility where food is rare and punishments are put on a daily schedule. The kids were told to lie about how great the reformatory school was on the letters home. However, on Jonothan's second day there, the adults died while punishing the kids.

The book and the Netflix show definitely has some major differences. For example, the story from the book happens in a few days while the in the Netflix show, clay, the main character, took about a few months to finish the tape. I think that the director may have changed some parts of the story line because the netflix show needed more tension and describing things better would be beneficial to that.

This book was created under the influence of the one child policy. Since the author's family was able to escape from the law, the author wanted to see what it was like for the ones who couldn't. She goes to Dalian and surveys many schools and environments. She also taught and helped the kids with english and other application's so they can escape from having another generation controlled under the same policy.

I have just started reading this book. This book is a fantastic diary kind of book talking about the life of a pressured but normal teenager. Piper is a teenager studying in the arts profession. She plans to move to New York for the next leg of her learning journey. She experiences a lot though the final year of high school. I think I can connect with how hard it is being a teenager and all.

As I said, this is not the first time I have read this book already. But, as I read this book again, I have noticed that the sections or chapters are really short. I feel like they are kinda like the scenes in the movies. They kinda don't really match how the scenes were filmed in the movie though. I can still connect to Via and Miranda because friendships can be difficult a lot of the times.

Even though this is my 3rd time reading the book, I still found a lot of things I didn't catch the first few times. For instance, I noticed this time that in order for Via to get home from her new school, she had to run, take the bus and also take the metro. I also noticed that Jack and Aggie both text in a really weird way. I think I can relate to Via because people change a lot when transitioning grades.

I have already read this book many times and also have watched the movie. I decided to read this book again because I wanted to see if there is anything I didn't notice in the times I read it.

This book is getting more and more intense. They found out something they weren't supposed to find out and got into trouble for it. Now they just need to prove to the people that they are telling the truth and are not psychopaths.

I feel like I can connect this book with another book named The War That Saved My Life and it's sequel, The War That I Finally Won. The protagonist in both of the stories also wants to help the war in anyway possible just like Tessa wants to help solve the war.
