eh. Ms. Wolitzer’s prose is fine— a little wordy to love—but there is not enough distinct and arresting about it. She describes things as anyone might see them; this keeps her accessible, but also from transcending the normal.

I remember almost nothing of The Interestings. but I want to see how she deals with these hot-button themes.
