the deployment stuff is credible, but unfocused and structurally miscalculated, for a novel.

I don’t know how much of this is lived (I suspect most, and likely all) but its first quality is to remind you that it’s not all stupid people who get fucked up

this sentence would be acceptable if it switched places with the next, “Every newspaper in town had been advised to have a reporter on site.”

library added this at my suggestion. but it is NOT as shown here, page count isn’t even the same. The edition in my hands looks just north of self-published.

Also, some reviews are thinly veiled regurgitations of the promotional boilerplate. hard to believe a writer compared, it’s asserted, to Picasso and David Lean escaped the notice of an entire library system— more than one, it seems.
