— “a matching armchair to his wife’s” : completely superfluous preposition! nothing “matches to”, it merely “matches.” )I’m seeing this more and more among young-ish writers, confusion/obfuscation/convolution of prepositions)

I do not have the exact words for what is wrong, but there are some absolutely glaring grammatical errors on the second page:

- “his flat, unremarkably featured face” : as written, this means that it is unremarkable his face is featured… “unremarkably-featured” would fix it but “his flat, unremarkable face” would be better (allowing for “unremarkable”, which is inherently contradictory)
