That battle had me on the edge of my seat

This is very upsetting

Scrolling through the kindle with all intentions of reading a romance. Ended up here. Loving it.

Why is the heroine comfortable talking to people like this? Jerk.

This lady goes to a country where she doesn’t speak the language and decides to begin transporting children despite the fact that she knows no one and nothing. And she just randomly accepts a child thrust at her.

And then each conversation with a stranger is that extreme meaningful sharing that is uncomfortable and unrealistic. And the dialogue of the sassy gramma makes me roll my eyes.

I fear my expectations were raised too high.

In all of Sebastian’s books so far I was lost in the story. Here, I’m aware that I’m reading.

I want to go read The Art of Theft but i can’t leave Sebastian quite yet. I need a normal person to explain to me how they just walk away from a series and calmly come back to it at healthy intervals.
