It is unfortunately so annoying to read stuttering.

Never heard of anyone using poppers apparently just for fun.

Obviously 100 pages and counting pages of character introduction is completely reasonable in a book this long. And it’s well done and engaging, because it’s King. But man, I want to get to the scary part already.

I haven’t read this since high school, so I remember very little besides the main plot points. Looking forward to it.

I like the inclusive of a Jewish-coded character, but given this book takes place in October, I’d love just one line about Felix missing school one day for Yom Kippur or saying he can make it to a stakeout after he eats dinner in the sukkah or something.

I don’t understand why they didn’t just ask Dr. Wright to use whatever fax machine he certainly has access to.

Like the first book, the writing style is a bit twee for my taste, but it’s not bad enough to turn me off the it entirely.

Almost returned this to the library without trying it after Phantom Academy was so mid, but I'm glad I gave it a shot! Pretty fun so far.

I think I learned about this book from Mad Men, and I’ve been looking forward to reading it for a while. So far it’s mostly the author’s soapbox.

Sounds like this author has never heard of cordyceps.

This author seems to know all the weapons and vehicles used during the war in Afghanistan, but he somehow isn’t aware that platoon leader is an officer’s position and that Army is capitalized.

Men’s size ten is one of the more common shoe sizes—what do these characters mean when they say that’s special-store level big? Yeah, it’s big for a woman, but there have to be so many of those laying around right now.

This is cute so far; I’m in need of something quick and easy after The Time of the Hero.

Finally the story is picking up and I’ve got a hold on the narration.

Okay, we’re finally getting consistent paragraph breaks, so I’m hoping it’ll be easier going from here on out. I suspect this is one I’ll appreciate once it’s read more than I’ll enjoy the act of reading it, but we will see.

It occurs to me it’s been ages since I’ve read a challenging book. Pages-long paragraphs, nonlinear, I’m not even clear who many of the characters really are yet. Enjoying it so far, even if the content is a little brutal.

I think this gore would be hitting me harder if this book hadn’t been gory as fuck to begin with. Cannibalism and transfiguring Connor’s arm into a tentacle just strike me as LotW didn’t have anywhere grosser to go.

My daily minimum has been 3% per day, which means I’ll finish by Friday at the latest! Also, I really like Owen and I’m glad he’s getting something to do.

As much as I love all the characters LotW created, the problem is now I want to see what they’re up to even as I’m glad this book is pared down from the others. Cuprusses is the leader of the Irish Light alliance and we haven’t seen one single thing about what his daughter whom he abused, Harry’s ally, thinks about it?

This is so Gryffindor of Peter that he’s devastated he didn’t get to kill himself to stop a Horcrux.
