I get Harry and Connor have a particular kind of relationship, but take it from a twin: the younger would NEVER call the older their older brother.

I get Harry easily falls into his patterns and Draco is upset about that—/trust me/, I get how hard it is to see someone get out of treatment and right back into old habits. But I also remember a huge part of being 16 is staying up all night, so maybe Draco should chill.

I forgot how angry it made me that Harry promised Edith a safe place away from her mother only to welcome Henrietta to Hogwarts anyway. She finally found a place where she was happy and she’s forced to leave despite Harry’s previous promise to her. This read-through it’s really bothering me how Harry keeps putting the forgiveness of people who cause harm over their victims’ feelings.

Jesus Christ, Snape, get over yourself.

Six-month break and I’m back to it. If I can read about 2% every day, I’ll have the series finished by the end of September.

I have never read a book that so accurately nails what it feels like to be in the room while your parents are fighting.

This is such a good portrayal about what it’s like to have a crazy parent.

I think Daniel is an entirely boring protagonist so far and the writing reminds me of what a fifteen-year-old thinks is literary, but it’s going by quickly so I’ll stick with it.

Okay, talking with Emily made me realize I was so distracted by the dialect that I missed some actual plot, so I started over. But now I am just really struggling with the idea that a man was walking around the desert all day, including carrying a 40-pound bag plus two guns for literal hours, without any water. Dude should be dead of dehydration, easy.

I’m having trouble picturing what’s happening and I do not understand Moss’s motivation in going back to the trucks—I hope I start enjoying this soon.

Jonah is a really loathsome character.

He keeps describing dudes as super muscular and then calls them twinks—which is it?

Also the idea of a headmaster having a whole assembly about how two boys were supposedly cracks me up

All I want to do is sit outside and read this book, but instead I have to have a stupid job.

Hate that Frederick is getting flack for lying to Benjamin when he literally told him the truth immediately and was blown off.

A little silly, but cute enough so far.
