Fire-breathing salamanders 🤦🏻‍♀️ Why didn’t the author develop this magic system more instead of making up stupid, dangerous creatures? The relationship is cheesy. There is a whole dragon in this book that only ever shows up to serve as a symbolic passenger vehicle. It literally serves no other purpose... Silly.

At first, it reminded me of The Night Circus and I love that book. I think I was hooked at the start, but now I just don’t care anymore about the characters. It’s not a bad story. Maybe it lived up to the hype for a bit, but it’s falling flat now. Everything within the game can be an illusion and she has been duped SEVERAL times. Now all the sudden she is SO sure about him and her father. NOT believable.
