Readjusting to city life and enjoying this book on my daily commute!

To my surprise, after the departure of one bland character this book completely turned around and has become a delight to read.

To quote Chucky, when his victim steps out in front of a truck to escape him: "That works too."

Oh please, please, pleeease leave Perdita behind 🙏

"Think you, amidst the shrieks of violated innocence and helpless infancy, I did not feel in every nerve the cry of a fellow being? They were men and women, the sufferers, before they were Mohammedans, and when they rise turbanless from the grave, in what except their good or evil actions will they be the better or worse than we?"

This might be the first paragraph in the book so far which didn't cause me nausea.

Bit of a rough start to be honest. Not one of my favourite themes (raves and drugs and getting laid) but even worse than that, Ace was feeling exhausted and overwhelmed after the accumulation of horrific experiences and Seven practically shrugged her off and dumped her at this damn rave event. I'm going to be squirming through this one.

This story is completely self indulgent on the part of the author and is a bane to read.

Ever the optimist, I have decided to give this book the benefit of the doubt and check it out before classes start next week.

Having signed up for a Bachelor of Music it is somewhat of an understatement to say that I was a little dismayed to find a "for dummies" book in the reading list. I can't work out if this is suggested simply as extra reading for those who might struggle or as a text that we will be following closely and even though I'm seriously hoping it's the former, it's not ideal in either case.

So far this is just a shitty love story, blegh.

The Agorophobia presented in the second story, which is described as a result of having lived in isolated comfort feels somewhat familiar, although not in terms of an actual phobia I have since moving to a small country town found that even just popping back into the city for supplies is wrought with frustration! (He says as he contemplates his impending shift back to a city - to be closer for uni)

I don't want to stop! But that will have to do for tonight.

I'm having a load of fun with this one!

I seem to be a good run, two very excellent stories in a row. Thus far this one is just the kind of adventure that I love.

A spectacular opening!

I would hesitate to call this great but it is about exactly as much fun as I expected it to be; which is somewhat.

Are we there yet?

That's about enough for today. I've noticed that instead of enjoyable and nostalgic, I'm now finding the onslaught of minutiae from 80's trivia much more tedious and somewhat of a diversion from the interesting main thread.

Also not buying the sudden easy interaction between Art3mis and Parzival.

Finnnnallyyy... Parzival has just made the most obvious connection about "The Siren's Soul" 🙄

I hated the infirmware update at first but it's growing on me.

Possibly an even better scifi premise but seeing Parzival become the antihero so rapidly is a real downer.

Get 'em Parzival!
