Duality. Who nowadays isn’t plagued by it? Yet European writers at the beginning of our age - Mann, Rilke, Valéry and Gide - bridged that duality with their WAKING DREAMS. There was little duality in their work - especially, for me, in this one - and they really KNEW THEIR OWN IDENTITY, HOLISTICALLY. As DREAM!
