Peppone, the feisty Communist Mayor of a small Italian village in post-Fascist Italy, thinks he can make short work of the good-natured but volatile town priest, Don Camillo. But Don Camillo's Big Boss and spiritual advisor, the ever-watchful Lord Jesus, always comes into the fray to turn evil situations into happy endings... for EVERYONE's mutual benefit!

Loads of good fun.

I highly recommend it.

I really like the poetry of Katie Peterson presented in this slim but powerful lament over the death of a mother, which seems to find a sense of transcendence over that deep and complex grief.
Ms. Peterson writes masterfully in the imagist idiom, and finds her own voice with forceful, personal, concrete words that manage to connect with their target in a cathartic sense of resolution to the subject's bereavement.

One of the finest of Jan Karon's Father Tim books. Dense, richly emotional and complex, it is a sort of Jamesian encounter between American and European world views. It's a challenge to read, but it's eminently rewarding. Highly recommended.

This author is Catholic, but her insights into successfully avoiding the infinite pitfalls of modern life from the perspective of an inexperienced young woman are universal. How did she do it? By learning from the examples of preeminent Christian women of the past.

What a sleeper of a book! Uncovering the enormous charity in the hearts of very ordinary people around us who lead heroic lives of rich emotional abundance and love. A slim volume, ideal for holiday reading.

Bravo, Ms Judson! Fellow Goodreaders, this is an author worth watching out for. Though I've barely started, it is clear that this is a work of clear-minded intelligence and courage.
