An absolutely Masterful collection of heartfelt, underplayed, sotto voce short stories, written by a writer with real personal integrity.

Wow! What a book!!! You know, as the world goes faster and gets crazier with each minute, a lot of us have at one time or another temporarily lost our moorings, and experienced emotional trauma.

This book is written by people on Rebecca Gold’s Facebook creation - for us who want peace of mind in our PTSD - Life With James Taylor. His songs & friends’ feedback has helped us cope.

The book is a real GODSEND!

My absolute hands-down FAVOURITE book of the year, and one of the few that makes that grade in my All-Time List of personal Favourites.

They say your Favourites depict YOU as you are now, and this is a book for reminiscent older folks like I am now... and you know what?'

The same holds true for this Important New Writer. Many suddenly recalled Epiphanic Events of his Life are here. Iimpeccably crafted stories!

I started this one a couple of weeks ago. Started quite sadly, but now the loose ends are starting to be tied up! Very nice novel. I will read more of her books.

What a simply marvellous fictional panorama of contemporary life in the Far East! A wonderful, heartfelt treat for idle moments. I am finding my old mind re-energized in its straightforward linear prose, as very clear memories of my own youthful passions and unconsidered decisions once again surface in my mind!

Its an adventurous book, cutting through my old-timer's doubts and hesitations. I highly recommend it!

Wow! I am absolutely carried away by the clear romantic simplicity of this book. It's a winner! We should all take a mental vacation now and then from our harried, complex minds in books such as this...

Ben is a young and beautifully ingenuous man whose romantic nature takes me right back to the days when I was 23 and in love. Such unfulfilled longing, and such a serene though innocent outlook on life! I LOVE it.

Admiral Stockdale is the famed writer of Courage Under Fire (see my review), the story of how the Roman Stoic Epictetus got him through his excruciating interrogation and torture in Vietnam.
This book is the heartfelt story, written by his wife Sybil and himself, of how their marriage survived that horrific ordeal, and their life of recovery thereafter.
Many thanks to my good buddy Tg for his warm endorsement!

I loved Admiral Stockdale's Courage Under Fire, in which he tells how the main thing that kept him going during long imprisonment and torture in Vietnam was the Stoic philosophy of Epictetus - so I thought I'd try this!

Wish me luck, cause this one's LONG....

An old-fashioned masterpiece of subtlety and discretion! You can see Goethe's vast range of practical interests come to life in the accoutrements and activities to which an older couple gives their wholehearted love and attention.
All in all, an engrossing study of how a middle-aged couple's emotional attitudes bob and weave with the introduction to the scene of volatile houseguests, with penetrating psychology!
