GODS THESE ARE MOSTLY TERRIBLE. "Impatient Griselda" and "The Morningside" have been the only stories I've actually enjoyed thus far. Almost everything else just feels like painful extroverts reaching to find cursive platitudes in the isolation of lockdowns in their claustrophobic, megalopolis apartments. I can't relate, nor can I sympathize, and I actively have hated some of these stories.

Celebrating a year since the start of my Decameron buddy read!

So far I am very unimpressed with this, though; I was hoping it would be more like the OG Dec, and NOT primarily focus on the 'Rona times.

Frustrating as FUDGE to see how anti-slavery peeps were somehow even worse than pro-slavery ones? Anti-slavery peeps would have preferred complete extermination for Blacks; pro-slavery peeps at least didn't want genocide? But then German Communists immigrated, brought their "slaves=property=property should not be owned" mindset, but somehow that still didn't convince an overall stance change towards supremacy.

FFS, literally nothing has changed. Harney sounds like we was the Hawley of his time. Or, more accurately, Hawley is the Harney of our time, which is even worse.
