It's good. gripping. but suffers from the snarky first-person getting a little too full of himself - detailing the human anatomy while he is breaking bones or admiring the shiny telescopic lens and waxing eloquent on the physics of bullet-trajectory while he is handpicking targets like duck-shooting in a practice alley. Sigh. But yes, it is paced like a runaway freight train alright. Romance is awwww..so contrived..

Oh this book is getting terribly addictive. It reads like a movie. Every part is a movie in itself. With a clearly defined conflict, super-villain and fantastic action set-pieces. To think it's written in 1989. Mindblowing! I'm a fan of Mr. McCammon now.
