Still borrowing pretty heavily from the reimagined BSG. Almost certain a big reveal is coming in which we find out that Kara is not quite what we had assumed. *sigh*

Listening to this one as an audiobook although I also have a hard copy from ComicCon. Love that they've used various voice actors to really bring this World War Z type format to life. One thing I find very distracting, however, is that one of the main characters is basically Kara Thrace from Battlestar. Yup, a sarcastic, cocky, hotshot female military pilot with trust and intimacy issues...named Kara. -__-

If he writes "The past is obdurate" one more time, I may chuck my iPod out the window. This book is sorely in need of a heavy-handed editor.

Liking this one, especially its unusual take on time travel mechanics, but the whole storyline with Sadie is a getting bit tedious, especially because I'm listening to this on audiobook and the male narrator has the most annoying, nasally, faux Southern voice for her. I'm not sure if it is King's writing or the voice but I suspect both that I dislike.

So far, so good. The cover is a major spoiler though, I'd say.

This book, how much more offensive and poorly researched can it get? We have a shortage of dogs thanks to spay/neuter?! Referring to men who like animals and women who hunt as "gender benders"?! Stating that dogs were domesticated when a wife cavewoman got all googly-eyed over the wolf the husband caveman was going to kill?! I don't get how my AR friends think this is a pro-AR book at all or even an intelligent one

Omg this book is so bad. Pets can be bad for your health because you might trip over them? Seriously? This is what passes for anthrozoological research? O___o
