Poor Do it. She sees Carl’s recklessness and almost dismissal of her safety. Her abandonment issues are squeezing my heart. Wait til she finds out B was going to get rid of her.

He almost died within the first few minutes of the floor? And then again a few chapters later? He’s become reckless- in the sense that it almost seems like he doesn’t care for Donuts safety anymore. I’m not liking his vibe.

He could have looked at her when he was home, told her bedtime stories, kissed her goodnight. I wish she’s abandon the mission and instead go back to find Samuel.
She’s on her own now and I can see her following in her mother’s footsteps- she’s just chasing the wrong man.

I understand that we’re supposed to swoon at Julian’s undying love for his wife. But talk about too little, too late for us to form any sort of attachment to him to bother rooting for his and January’s reunion. Why would I want her to find him? He abandoned her, plainly.

Author of the book was pretty obvious, but satisfied with the info in it.
Definitely a slow read, the lack of action is a bit of a snooze, but that’s on me for reading outside my usual genre.

We’re still on “you will not break me”. I think he finally said something like “I will break all of you” which I needed to hear.
Fighting back? Loving that. Losing 5 days? Hated that.
Katia thriving without them? I felt the exact same way Carl did and was impressed with the insight he had. I don’t want them to be defenceless but at the same time I don’t want a door to open where they split up.

The Chris situation is breaking my heart.
Are we in a will they or won’t they with Katia??

Katia has officially grown on me. Maybe her and Carl should hook up. He just gets better and better as a human. And I love Donut too much.

I’m not super enjoying the addition of Katia. Also, Mordecai’s frog voice is annoying af. I get that changing up the characters has to happen to keep things interesting, but not my favourite so far. Also feels more confusing than the other books.

If Tom Robbin’s and Christopher Moore had a baby and only fed it mushrooms and acid. This level of imagination is unfathomable
