I like to intersperse my reading of modern SFF with casting an eye back to how we got here, and I've never read and Edmund Cooper that I didn't enjoy. This is no exception. Beautifully economic in its narrative, this London stands beside Cooper's other Utopias as an intriguing setting to watch the characters explore. Not much in the way of character arcs, but there's no harm in having strong archetypes.
