Added details of Kobo eBooks and Library eBooks (via Libby) I've been reading in 2025 - apologies if the updates have flooded your feed(s). Have also tagged all books so I can see at a glance the books read in each year, starting from 2025.

It only occurred to me yesterday that the Kindle app would be noting the books I've been reading via Amazon and posting the info here.

Hi. I'm still alive. I don't actually own a Kindle anymore, I own two Onyx devices - An Onyx Boox Color 7 and a Onyx Boox Palma. The former is basically a tablet with a color eInk display, the latter you can think of as a souped up ipod touch that uses eInk. Both run Android.

A year long reading challenge with a target of six books to read. There was a time when six books a month wasn't all that out of the ordinary; now I'm stetting that as a target for the entity of 2019.

'J' by Howard Jabobson has been on my radar for a while; I had to go out last week, and decided to peruse some of the charity shops on the way back home. I found a copy for .25, and so decided to pick it up, with the intention of reading it - well, eventually. Decided to start it today, will hopefully finish it within a few weeks / a month.

This is set in and and around my particular neck of the woods, hence my reason for checking it out.

I'm having another attempt at Audio Books. We'll see if it's more successful this time than previous attempts.

GoodReads tells me I'm half way through my 2015 Book Challenge... At the tail-end of September. Clearly I'm not going to get anywhere near to hitting my target; Chalk it up to a variety of irksome medication related issues and general restlessness. Looking onwards, with a somewhat positive frame of view, to 2016.

Abandoned; Clearly it's a good book but I'm not quite upto the work involved to be reading Frys' books at the moment. I'll likely update the status at somepoint to move it to the 'abandoned' category.

Catching up on Broadchurch; have abandoned the episode reviews but I *will* be publishing a post that contains reviews of the individual eBooks. Look for it somepoint next week.

Currently writing a review of The Bees - once that's finished I need to review last weeks' Broadchurch short; The Life cycle of Software Objects, and The Player of Games, so as to be upto date. I'll be starting 'The Girl on the Train' either Monday or Tuesday. I plan to pick up the much hyped 'Station Eleven' as part of a 2 for £7 promotion at somepoint next week. -Update ends.

I've now tried to read Eleanor and Park twice - couldn't get into it either time. Time to move onto something different.

I'm sure it's a fine book, I just haven't really been in the mood for it - I'll put it to one side, and give it another shot in a few months.

City of Bones, and portions of The Concrete Blonde, will form the basis for "Bosch" an Amazon Studios production that will *finally* see Harry Bosch brought to life on screen. Seemed like an ideal opportunity to re-read that particular book.

I'm not going to lie - I was trudging through this, not quite understanding either the hype for the book, or the reason Affleck and Fincher would want to make it into a film. Then I got a little past the half-way point. And now it's suddenly gotten VERY interesting.

I've decided to put back reading The Day of the Triffids; Instead I'm going to read Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn.

I fancied something familiar.
